I learned about Chase when first rode that Panigale. His ride through downtown Atlanta on a Panigale was epic. His video came up for discussion on ADV Forums, where I was active at the time.
Ducati has what I believe, cylinder deactivation. So when you're in idle/neutral, the bike will deactivate 2 cylinders to save fuel and/or reduce heat, you can get rid of them with ECU flash I believe. I would personally just keep them, with aftermarket exhaust it would be interesting to hear different engine firing. Anyway, glad to have you back!
Correct. You can hear the second set of cylinders start firing right as he shifts into first around 2:15 in the video.

If its anything like cars I would get rid of it ASAP. Cylinder deactivation is the cause of a lot of engine damage. Especially in GM vehicles
@@chickenfixn4439agreed, I know a few guys with Ducatis. 2 of them left the cylinder deactivation enabled and the other guy had it disabled. The guy that had it disabled was talking about just how hot it was in traffic. We regularly swap bikes and in slow traffic and stopped it is intensely hot. I believe he got that tuning turned back on over this winter.
I have a 2022 SF V4 and she is absolutely my pride and joy. Love that bike. Most connected and sharp motorcycle I have ever ridden.
As others have stated in the comments, they shut down to 2 cylinders while while in neutral. sweet bike man, glad you're back!

I definitely suggested the SFV4 when you mentioned wanting a hyper naked. It’s imo the best looking motorcycle hands down. I wouldn’t own one because I’m cheap and I spent that money on a bike once, and I’ll never do it again. Granted that bike was nowhere near as cool. Congrats on the bike Brent. I wouldn’t stop staring at it if it was in my garage.. and I can’t stop staring at my gen-3 MT-09 that I’ve had for 2 years. So I’d be sleeping next to that just to wake up to looking at it lol.

When you are at a stop light in first i think even second gear and you are holding the clutch, the 4 cylinders will shit down until you start to let out the clutch and reactivate. Its pretty ingenius. Always suprises me when i take off to hear the exhaust tone get Deafly louder 😂❤
IMO the Ducati Streetfighter V4 is the best looking naked bike. Before test riding and buy a Aprilia RSV4 Factory limited I test rode a Streetfighter V4 and it was perfect and I was so close to buying it.
Then why choose the Aprillia?

@@joekavalauskas8767 I really didn't want another naked bike. As I own a MT09 SP, but got the chance to test ride the Streetfighter V4 and couldn't pass it up. I thought about buying it. Then the next day I saw a Aprilia RSV4 Factory limited in Speed White livery and test rode it and it felt great. I really wanted a Supersport, since I've not had one since a Yamaha R6. I fell in love with the Aprilia RSV4 Factory and with a SC Project GP22 exhaust it's the exact bike I've wanted. Now my gf has my fully upgraded MT09 SP.
Funny enough i test rode the rsv4 and a SF V4 and went with the Aprilia aswell

I have a z900 and I'm looking to upgrade, and this Ducat stfighter was on the top of my list, but as I saw your brand new bike having issues with a dashboard not properly attached, made it drop a few positions now. I have had zero issues with my z900 thus far. But I will still test-drive one at the Ducati Austin, Texas dealer in the upcoming weeks and that might change my mind hahahahah
I'm also thinking about these issues. I also own a z900, but it rides really well. I can't fault it!
I am also planning to buy an SF4 and am evaluating whether it can bring me more happiness. But it is so beautiful! ! I value a bike’s exterior design! If you get to test drive them, I welcome it and look forward to having you back here to share your experiences!🤩

Did BC Canada to San Diego and back on a 1290 Superduke and it was fine. Tiring, sure, but any 8 hour day 2 week road trip would be.

I work at Ducati, if it’s new don’t go past 3,500 RPM for its proper break in period. I know it’s low but trust me, it’ll save you problems later!
The bike shakes and judders a lot at 3500rpm. Really hard to use the bike for 600 miles bellow 3500rpm. The manual says 6500rpm. Why 3500rpm?

That bike is on my top 3 dream bike....awwwh come on, im 43 and have rode my XSR 900 from Salt Lake to Sacramento and it wasn't that bad. Of course its no Electra Glide or Goldwing.

what's the wind like on it ? im looking at getting a gen4 S1000RR, but have the opportunity to get a V4 Streetfighter at a good deal, but just concerned about the wind factor when riding at higher speeds
i have a cb500f, up to 130 I'd say it's bearable. A bigger problem is wind noise.
At 150kmh it's no fun anymore (but I was probably riding on a windy day the other time)

now most of the hypernakeds are coming with cruise control. but this misses out on that. the only thinks i didnt like is the absence of cruise control and lack of fuel guage. not even a distance to empty indicator is there. apart from that ducati nailed it.

US models are really slow between 6 to 8 thousand rpm because of emissions although S1000rr that are sold outside the US regulations are great in stock form except for muted exhaust
@@vba_72 I think it's hilarious how your emissions stock are so strict (which I also have a very hard time believing), but most of you can just ride around with a straight pipe. Whilst over here you can't even have a slipon which is louder than the stock pipe, and changing the dbkiller (not even removing it) to something which gives more sound is a crime.
@@Daniel-dj7fh I think you've misinterpreted my situation, I'm from India and I own 2022 S1000RR in India therefore mine is all good for the performance straight out of the box but I know US models are slow because even if you ride one and see the videos you can clearly see the slowly rising rpms while mine is very quick(how it should be)

Dude, best engine on the market imho. Some say the RSV-4 has the best sound, I disagree so ever so slightly but I'm biased :). Happy owner of a 21 panigale and a 22 pikes peak. Both the Desmo and Gran Turismo engines are what Honda and KTM need to study and offer high performance V4s. Inline 4 just can't compete now with all the electronics. Ducati did it right with MotoGP to the customer and have refined it. I really hope Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, and KTM take notice - give us a V4 guys!
