Watching you do the drips on the cake is relaxing- not trying to be weird or anything...it's just relaxing that's all :)
Not weird at all! I think a lot of people find it kind of soothing, including myself :)

I haven't tried making this cake yet but I can tell it will help me when I am making my moms birthday cake 🍰
It's my mom's birthday too
Amazing
You make nice cake I wish I can buy one
😍😍
Great video. Tfs
Thank you, great tips. When I tired this in the past, my cake was room temp and my chocolate was too hot , resulted in melted cake.
eek, that would def make it harder to make!! Happy you enjoyed this tutorial, I'm sure your next drip cake will turn out amazing :)
Very nice
Thank you very much ma
i tried it with ruby chocolate it turned out really well
That's such a fun idea! I bet it was beautiful!!!
There ya go ♡♡♡
Lovely video. Please can one use brown sugar, instead of chocolate and if yes will it still be the same ratio with the heavy cream. How long does d mixture last. Thanks
+Chelsweets Does this also work on cakes frosted with stabilized whipped cream? If I chill the frosted cake prior, will that affect the consistency of the whipped cream when it thaws to room temp? Thx
Excellent instructions! New subscriber here 😊
aww thanks!!!
Could you do this on a chilled whipped cream frosted cake?
Thank you so much. I think where everyone else seemed to fail is the temperature of the cake and ganache. And just 2 ingredients. Can you make a tutorial with the painted drip of gold or silver? Or the chocolate wafers? Thank you for clearing things up.
Sure! I'd love to do a painted drip tutorial!!! I'll try to get that up in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned!! :)
thank you so much this is great! what temperature is your ganache when you do it? mine never works so I need to be really precise hahaha
II'm not sure the exact temperature, I'll need to check next time i make it! I usually shake the squirt bottle to see how fluid the ganache is! The bottle is usually luke warm to the touch
what size cake pan do you use? thank you for sharing your knowledge and techniques!
I usually use 7 inch or 8 inch cake pans, which are 2 inches deep!
Hi , may i know can i add gel paste colour to chocolate ganache? Would it turn out the same like white chocolate ganache?
hi! what turntable do you use? i had a crappy wilton one and had to ditch it. now i NEED a new one!
I use an Ateco 612 turntable! It is THE BEST! I highly recommend it, and got it on amazon a couple years ago!
You need an oil based food coloring for white chocolate. Regular Gel will make the texture weird and it doesn’t really work :)
Hi , i would like to know if you frost your cake with buttercream frosting .
Do you store the cake in the freezer before frosting? If yes how long? 😊
Is that frosting or fondant she put the drip on ? Can I use both or only fondant ?
What is the ideal temperature of the ganache to create the drips?
I use chocolate spread melted, works so so much better! And tastes nicer too xx
Hi , if you're using actual chocolate rather than the chips , what would yhr ratio be ? TYIA x
can you use this ganache on cream cheese frosting?
kindly post the video for your chocolate cake sponge ( flat surface one)
Hi, Can I use whipped cream instead of heavy cream? Or is it the same?
great video!!! liked, tweeted n shared!!! have a blessed day!! #100M
Thank you for the tutorial! At what temperature should the cake be? And what is the white covering on the actual cake: is it whipping cream? Thank you for the help! :)
don’t think you quite understand what whipping cream is... might wanna google that before putting it on cake
Do I have to do anything different for a semi naked cake?
Hi, so say I wanted to use white chocolate, how would the recipe be?
Yeee thanks epañol ❤
There are so many comments I hope this hasn't already been asked... You mention in the video that if you are using gel colouring that your ratio will be different. I will be using gel colour to turn my chocolate black, how would that alter my ratio? Thanks so much for easy to follow and beautiful tutorials!
actually for black ganache, you can just add it straight into this chocolate ganache recipe!
Does it matter what butter cream is on the cake to make the drizzle? I plan on making a chocolate cake with meringue buttercream. Could I do the chocolatedrizzles on that cake?
Hello, if I use cream cheese frosting instead of butter cream, can I still make the drip?
So much easier using the bottle!😊
Right!?!?! I always spill when I try to use a spoon, and it takes so much longer!!
Chelsweets Bakery wish I could show you a pic of my first drip cake after watching yours- If you have Instagram my name is the cake dispensary so you can see😊
Pls can you send me a link from amazon for this bottle I’m not sure which one to buy. Thank you sooo much
Can you do this on a no bake cheesecake?
I would love to see how u use white chocolate ganache and coloring.. 😁
I actually show how I make colored ganache here: czcams.com/video/f2-IKH4cQS0/video.html&lc=Ugysg5L5YoUwCpZBFEp4AaABAg
and then its pretty much the same drip process :)
Can we use wire whisk to do ganache
could you use a piping bag if you dont have a plastic squirt bottle?
How did you create the cake layers, zebra layers?
How can I make black colour drips ... what to use?
hello its so nice can you share thecake recipe please 🌸
Hi just wondering if you can use ganache instead of buttercream to ice the cake?
Yes, but you need to add less heavy cream to make the ganache thicker! here is my recipe for ganache I use to fill and cover a cake: chelsweets.com/2017/06/09/dark-chocolate-ganache-cake-filling/
Getting ready to do my first drip cake! Scared to death lol, I have black Wilton candy melts, can I use that? What would the ratios be?
Rebecca Berna 3 part candy melts 1 part heavy cream (that’s what I found is the best for candy melts)
Can I use whipping cream?
Hey Chelsweets. Can you please tell us which kind of chocolate do you use for dripping cake? Couverture chocolate or compound chocolate or just random chocolate for baking? Thank you!! Wait for your helpful response!!💓

She explains in detail what chocolate she uses.
Not couverture, not compound.
Any type of chocolate baking chip, she used semi-sweet.
How long did you have the cake in freezer? I really dont know if it takes 10 minutes, 1hour, 1 day... But it is really nice tutorial! ❤👌
10 minutes to an hour; doesn't really matter, just be sure that the b/c is set up hard.
Hi! Can you add gel food coloring to the ganache? I am making a cake for my nephews birthday and were doing silver and black theme!
you can! If you google chelsweets colored drips, my recipe for ganache that can be colored will pop up!
actually you can jsut add black gel food coloring to the chocolate ganache, and that would work! but for the silver, you'd need to make a white chocolate ganache base!
What cake recipe did you use on this cake? It looks soooo appetizing!
My favorite vanilla layer cake recipe!! Here's the link: chelsweets.com/2016/09/05/best-vanilla-layer-cake-recipe/
Chelsweets Bakery oh awesome. And you just added chocolate to make it marble?
it’s easy but the problem in our country we don’t have. a Heavy cream / What is the alternative
hi ! could u please tell if smbdy orderd a 1 kg cake hw would i go about measuring it ,wil greatly appreciate if u reply
I've never heard of that before! I usually make cake sixes based on many people will be eating the cake (how many servings). Sorry I can't be of more help!
Thank you for sharing your talent
Question I am confused there lots of sizes are in dry measuring cups
So today you use it look smaller then Betty corker cups
Can you plz tell me what cup size you are using?
Also if I put in bottle how I reuse leftover for another cake and how long is good for
Waiting for your reply
Here is her ganache recipe:
chelsweets.com/chocolate-ganache-drip-recipe/
As for leftover ganache in a bottle, I suggest putting it in the fridge and my guess is it can be used for up to 2 weeks. But then you have to reheat it and I recommended leaving it out to thaw first, then you can transfer it to a glass bowl to microwave or put it in a pot to heat over a stove top. Whichever one is more readily available just keep an eye on it.
If it comes out too chunky from the microwave I suggest warming up some heavy cream and adding that to your chocolate, let it sit then stir.
I hope this works out!
@@angeliki5135 thank you for reply and help also I will look Chelsweet.com 🤗
Hi Chelsey is the recipe the same for ganache for drips and using to pipe?! 😉
It's slightly different! I pipe with what I call my ganache "frosting!" The recipe for it is up on chelsweets.com :)
Have made your vanilla layer cake twice now - amazing and so easy to make.
Can i use candy melt
Can I use a Hershey candy bar
Hi, what other chocolate chips can I use other than Hersheys brand for the drip?
You can use any brand or even chopped up chocolate bars! any chocolate should work!
Hi chelsweets can you use sweet condensed milk with cocoa powder to make the ganash please reply to me.Thanks💞💕💟💝
I'm not sure, I've never tried it!
Hi Chelsea! I was wondering, would the ganache work well as writing on the cake?
Not at this consistency! It would need to be a bit thicker to keep it's shape, otherwise it would spread out on top of the cake and not be legible :/
I see..ok, thanks!
Beautiful. How do you the white chocolate 🍫
thanks! Here is the recipe for my colored drips made with white chocolate: chelsweets.com/2016/08/28/colored-drips-recipe-white-chocolate-ganache/
Chelsweets Bakery thank you!
Thanks for the video! I've been looking for someone to explain how to make the ganache. What is the ratio when using white chocolate?
2 parts white chocolate, one part heavy cream! If you can find them, I recommend using mini white chocolate chips! They melt more easily :)
Thank you!!
Hi! Can I use a regular milk?! Thanks! :-)
You really need the fat from the cream to get the consistency right!
Chelsweets are you a self taught baker or did you go to school?
I am self taught! I went to school for finance!
Chelsweets Bakery cool thank you for answering my question. Have you thought about doing a q and a live?
Chelsweets wow !!! Got some another finance person interested in cake like me 🥰🥰🥰
Can I use this with a cream cheese frosted cake?
definitely! just be sure the cake if fully chilled before adding on the drips :)
Is it possible to do this chocolate drip process onto a marshmallow? I'm wanting to make a chocolate drip affect on a marshmallow and use that as my cupcake topper for a candy land theme party. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I don't thing so! but you could try with straight melted chocolate? maybe that would work?
Does the ganache set or does it stay running once on the cake? I have a cake to do this weekend and I've never worked with ganache. I'm worried about the drips when transporting
It is still slightly soft, they don't fully harden! However, if the cake is chilled, they should stay in place!
Chelsweets Bakery thank you for your advise xx
Hi! Can I use heavy whipping cream instead of heavy cream?
yup!!
