And yeah maybe FIFA can require more skill but thats because the AI is way too unrealistic. In there you have sheffield playing perfect tiki-taka style, thats far from realistic lmao. At least in PES the shite teams would actually mess up their passes. If i lose to a better team its because they played better and not from scripting bullshite. That's what I hate about fifa. If they would just change the ball dynamic then it could be a super fun arcade game maybe even closer to in between Sim. Baffling they don't.
But they move like a robot, and when they get tackle they bow their head and act like being knocked out instead of rushing to get the ball back, and don't tell me about how dumb ai teammates are an absolute nightmare,
Plus I played Become A Legend, My player had 95 speed and acceleration and got outrun by second division defender everytime, it was very noticeable. And when I press R2 to get a pass from my teammates they struggle to deliver the pass.
I'm so frustrated, I mostly played offline, I tried to give pes chances too many times but for me, it doesn't work.
There's no fun left in offline mode.

@@ii-qe1yn It is sometimes annoying ,but I feel like it is actually good as it makes it kinda more realistic ,as in real life sometimes referees call a "foul" when it isn't.
It's weird, sometimes the complete opposite of PES 2019. In PES 2019, I remember the refs having a "if he dies, he dies" mentality where it's really hard to get a yellow card and fouls rarely happen. Gets annoying when the AI exploits it.
But in 2020, several slight tussles end up being fouls. It's much easier to get a foul. But sometimes, the ref doesn't care. It's mostly obvious in derby games where the red seems to be more lenient with the home team. It feels inconsistent, but some people could argue that that's just realistic.
It's also sad that they removed the dive option ,as I like it when the opposition dives and get a card, free kick or a penalty ,but you seemed to rarely get away with it and once I succeeded ,but the commentator said it looked like a dive LOL. But I think it got removed because some salty, unrealistic players got annoyed.
IMO fifa has better presentation in terms of things like the atmosphere, commentary, etc but pes gameplay always reigns supreme (for me atleast)
i agree fifa does have the presentation. my pc pes is modded with every stadium, ive added real scoreboards in like pl li liga etc any faces i dont like ive added them in too like salahs new hair.

I've played fifa most of my life, I'm 39... since I downloaded the free version of pes last year I haven't turned back. Best game ever..period. sports or otherwise. There are some glitchy moments sure, but gameplay is so realistic ..feels like you're doing the moves yourself almost. Plus the quality of players in myclub you can get. I've spent a 100 bucks on pes21 alone because it's so addicting! Haha

Choose long grass snowy weather, it feels slower but more fluid, natural and enjoyable .. And check on the gameplan those 5 different conditions of the players ARROWS, it is important ... They also charge their ratings depending where you position them on the pitch... Teams with A and B are in the best form

Same here, I’m 22 and I’ve played fifa my entire life. Last year, I got so fed up around January because I wasn’t getting rewarded for grinding both champs and rivals, week in week out and also the gameplay was sooo shit. I stopped and tried out myclub free version. This year I bought the full game and said my goodbyes to fifa. The money you spend on pes is also well worthy 80% of the time because you’re guaranteed to get something good unlike fifa which is a complete scam lol
same here. been playing fifa since the 2000 series because it was the only football game i knew and haven't looked back to it since pes 2016. after all these years playing pes, i can only say fifa is only superior to pes because it's licenced, unlike pes where i have to look for its mods online to perfect the game. i restraint myself to play online since i could see myself spending big bucks into it and i've already spent my money on games i play online and put my most times into, so i'm not gonna do it haha. ofc fifa has better display and or user interface, but it is miles away from having a better overall gameplay than pes
One of the best features is the manual button, the ability to be able to take a manual shot or manuals through ball at any time is awesome. It makes the game more organic

Long time gamer here, not so much these days. I discovered FIFA back in 1999 and played it and was in ahhh of the game play, that was my game for the next year or so, lots of good times. A year later i went to a friend's house and their 7 year old kid had a game called Kanami sports soccer. We played for a game or two and from then I was hooked. game play and agility of the players, their realistic grunts and shouts and ball to feet noises. It was like how a realistic football game should feel, it was so superior to FIFA on so many levels. The sound of ball on the turf and players footsteps on the pitch was so realistic and ahead of its time, from then on I played FIFA less and less. Kanami changed to pro Evo shortly after and I've never looked back. Lots of memories of some real fun and heated games against so many of my friends and family . Seeing who was the best at pro Evo, Damn!!! I miss those days. We spent years playing the new version of the game that came out. Every so often I would play FIFA and it was still robotic and non realistic just still stuck in the pass. Best versions of pro if I remember to me was between 2005 and 2011. Long live pro evo
If you’re a fan of realistic gameplay then PES is the way to go. The ball physics, the passing, the shooting, the player movement is all beautiful. It feels like you’re actually playing a football match

Haven't played either game for years, but this looks so much more like real football than Fifa it's insane. By comparison, in Fifa it's as if every touch of a button or stick just leads you into a pre-determined second long sluggish animation that breaks the pace and doesn't look like something any real player would ever do.

Yeah the mechanics and physics in PES this year is insane .. The amount of collisions, falls, shirt tugging etc .. Make the game feel more action packed and the movement of the ball looks like how it moves in real life .. Very good game this year .. I started playing it a week ago and I have been addicted ..

in fifa it feels like there is fixed ball trajectory whereas in pes, the ball goes where its intended to..thus its more rewarding to pull off a great goal

@@ciobanflorin9832 done that. I bought pes 2020 and slightly regretted it at the start because of licenses.. left it uninstalled on my library for half a year lmao. But overtime i got sick of fifa 19 scripting, and started remembering PES’s freedom of editing that i used to do in the old games. Plus the amount of option files there are. Sure, you may have to pay for the big leagues and stuff, but there’s nothing like adding the Indonesian or Chilean league for free lol. The freedom in that game is insane. I even created my high school futsal team into the game, took time but it was worth the effort 😂

I love PES gameplay as well, I just find the commentary irritating and the menu interface looks dull. Konami need to go back to what they did right with Pes 5, pes 6.... back in the day with the slick interface and in house background music . Anyone that remembers spiral soundtrack from pes 5 will know what I'm talking about.
Since the last upgrade, the game is sticking alot and you have alot of games ending due to null errors. Also offside goals are being scred and refree not calling it out. When a team has the ball in possession and while passing to other team mate and opposition try to get the ball and fell the referee calls wrong free kicks. So my honest opinion we need a better upgrade. And I wish to see the referee on the field so when he make wrong desicion players can protest against him.

It is interesting to me that finally after many years I'm starting to hear opinions shift back in PES' favour again after the series has been in the doldrums at least in terms of sales for quite some time. It is a simulator, it is hard to master it .. Train yourself at free training using auto-feint OFF and ON... On the other way, hold on L1 for 1 or 2 seconds to protect the ball or to keep it invsmall areas.. You can use L1, choosing a direction simultaneously, release L1 and then sprint, it is very good at simple dribble 1 vs 1, but you must have the inspiration to choose the right direction

Only real issue I have with PES is the OP AI freekicks. Unless you somehow manages to block them, they're 100% going into the goal.

On playstation 5 is PES 2021 just ported from ps4 or did they use a new engine? If it's ported than we're in for a treat next year
The one thing in Fifa which I like is dynamic adaptive difficulty in game. In ini file You can change/add rule "if You score 2 goals before 20 minutes raise level by 0.2, if You have less shots that 2 before 30 minutes decrease difficulty by 0.1". This was nice feature in fifa 15. Apart from that You can control difficulty aspects in ini file like difficulty of tackling, cpu dribbing etc. You are not reduced to just choose between 5 difficulty levels in game, you can overwrite some settings in ini files. I have played fifa 15 for over 5 years and during this time I tuned game settings in ini files in such way that even today I am satisfied when I play game I can win with Lazio over SPAL 4-2 like a moment ago or lost Juventus with Milan 1-2. This is very realistic that you don't always win/loss, you can beat much stronger team, lost with much weaker team like in real life. Does anybody knows if PES 2021 have possibility in some ini file to control tackling settings or you can add rule "when leading with 2 goals increase difficulty during match by 0.2" ? I would like to switch from fifa 15 to fifa 22/pes 21 in near future and wonder which game to choose. I don't know if even fifa 22 has still such possibility to tune gameplay.
Ball physics and ball control transitions are unmatched
Is there a setting or a mod that allows the ref to be impartial rather than being on the cpu team? The cpu can slide tackle you from behind and get nothing, drag you back, bring you down in the box, nothing. You tackle them and give away free kicks all the time, and if they get a free kick anywhere near your box it's an automatic goal. Turns the game from challenging to just monotonous frustration.

i like pes more but for some reason my players never wanna run and how is Matthijs de Ligt faster than Ousmane Dembele or Alphonso Davies, could be cus im total crap at the game since i started playing it 2 days ago, any tips on how to get better?
PES uses more of whats called tactics where as in fifa its all about pace and skills.
this is why I came from FIFA this year. I should've done this since FIFA 14, when I started to get pissed with people winning the game just running

Can i ask how to play a league on pes 2021
After long time not play football game, today I get first time to play FIFA21 (last series is 14). Still have great presentation, but plain in gameplay. Everything feel so fast, although I have reduce the game speed to slowest. The animation look over reaction and far from than real play on field. Just wait n see eFootball (my last PES is 2017, also my last time play football game).
In the end of the day, video games is about the gameplay. I can compromise license and presentation as long as I like the gameplay.
Everyone talking about get licenses or change commentary but the real thing they gotta Change is when AI takes Free kicks, they 99.9% of the time go in when playing regular or harder difficulty

FIFA field looks so small. I was a FIFA player. first problem I have with FIFA is that when you put the hardest level in FIFA it just starts to dribble. In FIFA if you give the ball to Neymar you can't get it back because he is just dribbling and it is not realistic because in real soccer there is not that much of dribbling, it is more passing. Second problem I have with FIFA is the size of the field. It looks so small, like it takes just two or three passes to reach to the goal and gameplay is so fast and that is because of size of the field. It is so annoying. The third problem is the way to score goal. In FIFA you just shoot the ball with the top of your foot, even when you are near the goal, in real soccer when you are near the goal you shoot like passing, with side of your foot. These are all the problems I have with FIFA but I have to say FIFA's animation is way better than PES. FIFA's goalkeepers animation and players animation is so much better. I wish there was a game with PES' gameplay and FIFA's graphic(player's faces, grass color, etc.) and animation. I wish FIFA or PES do something about theses problems.

@DKingT 1 stop being blind, pes between 14 to 17? Was on a transition to the newest engine, do you remember how awful they were? Fifa was king back then and I say this as someone who despises fifa
pffff, looking for an opponent takes 15 minutes or more, often server maintenance makes it impossible to play. I am switching to FIFA after 20 years (my first game in this series - Pro Evolution Soccer (Winning Eleven 5))
