It’s a very small gesture in the grand scheme of things, but it means the world to Mindful. Just throwing out an idea for how the listener could show Mindful that they genuinely care about her.
This audio was a beautiful mix of so many emotions, and I wanted to hug Mindful so hard during this audio. She sounded convinced that she’s a burden and that the listener would be better off kicking her out of their home. Hearing Mindful tell the listener that she wants to believe that they care about her but that she’s tired of being hurt by people that got tired of her and thought that she was a burden really tugged at my heartstrings. Hopefully this listener can help her learn to believe and trust in people again. When i was in my early 20s i was super bad about trying to upset people to get them to go away. Over time i realized it was just out of fear of losing them, if you lose someone on your terms it’s a certainty as opposed to them just taking off someday and as messed up as it is it’s comforting to be certain and to feel “in control”. i think it’s something you don’t do consciously and you kinda have to catch it, but it’s sad (irl obviously) to see someone you really care about doing what you used to do.
Her trauma response from the abuse that she suffered has kept her alive. A survival instinct that has guarded her from the pain that others could cause. Hopefully, she will learn that the tools that kept her alive will bind her to loneliness if she doesn't give them up.
