This song is a bts remake from a song of the legendary Seotaiji and Boys. They are basically the creators of kpop. Of course, it (kpop) changed A LOT, but yeah. 2017, Seo Taiji invited BTS to collaborate in their 25th anniversary concert. This version is freaking amazing!! Watch the live version later!!

This was on of BTS best cover songs...the original is by Seo Taiji and Boys in 1995....BTS even preformed on stage with Seo Taiji in 2017 for Seo Taiji 25th anniversary concert (they debuted in 1992 and kinda the father's of what we know as Kpop)
Totally agree, I am 40’s and my teens time in Korea was whipped by storm with Sea Teaji. He was total genious and korea pop scene was completely changed over after Sea Taeji. Check the live performance of the song. BTS was not that super hot when this song was out. Add one more, as teenager at that 90s, so many teenagers faced juvenile crime or misbehavior teenager who letf home they said this song made them go back home. It was social phenomena. That artist and this song has effected all over the country.
I'm 68 and have been into kpop since the days of Seo Taiji .Their performance at his anniversary killed.

This song made so many runaway teenagers coming back to their home in 90's. Seo Taeji is genius and BTS are too. Collaboration of geniuses.
The live performance at their 4th Muster is incredible! I had to watch it over and over and over because it was haunting. Jin sets that tone and then the rest of the song is absolutely mesmerizing with the rap and vocal merging perfectly. It is just crazy how many less known gems BTS has; it makes it so much fun when you are first discovering their discography.
When this song was released originally by Seo Tae Ji and Boys in 1995, many teenagers who had run away from home came back :) When BTS was with Seo Tae Ji' 25th anniversary concert in 2017, He said that "Now It's your era!!" Legend recognizes legend.

Arguably the youth music movement which morphed with time into the K Pop Idol Platform originated with "The President of Culture" Seo Taiji. This song dates to 1995 and is one of his signature songs. BTS has been privileged to call Seo "Father" (which is impressive in a society wherein senior honorifics are essential) and Seo has deemed them the group which is carrying his edgy and socially impactful flame forward.
On the 25th anniversary of Seo Taiji and the Boys, BTS was able to practice routines with Seo of his songs for a month at Big Hit studios then collaborated to perform together in a special outdoor stadium concert which at the time BTS's largest crowd. At this "Time Traveler" concert, BTS performed on seven Seo Taiji and the Boys songs of which Come Back Home was one. They also performed Come Back Home solo at a BTS fan Muster which is why this version came into existence.
I strongly recommend their live joint performance of Classroom Idea. It is quite bad ass.

I'VE REQUESTED THIS! I always request this and so far you are the only reactor I've seen react to it. :) Their live performance of this is killer. The original was by Seo Taiji and Boys. In 2017 Seo invited BTS to perform with him on stage at his 25th anniversary. They KILLED IT! This is a cover/remake of his song. Seo Taiji was pretty much the first Korean rapper to really incorporate Western rap into his style.

I grew up listening to Taiji Boys when I was a kid. Taiji is a living LEGEND in Korea because he brought rap into Korea. Rap basically didn't exist until him (well it did in some form but it wasn't popularised). He started the trend of integrating rap into song, a standard recipe for Kpop songs 'til today! So happy to see you react to this :) This, Come Back Home is probably Taiji's most famous and popular song. It was in 1995 and it was his Fourth album. You will probably like Taiji's whole 4th album if you like this type of vibe. He switched more to hard rock later on, but I think you'd like his later albums too. Check out the original versions if you can! (Seo Taiji has solo albums, his initial group albums are Seo Taiji and boys during the early to mid 1990s)

This song has always been one of my favorites of BTS's songs since I started stanning BTS back in early 2017. The beat got me pumped like crazy since the very second and Soekjin"s high voice at the beginning really caught me off guard. They all sounded amazing. I couldn't even believe it was a remake 'cause it sounded so good. If you like this studio version, then you should give the live performance a look. Their swaginness level jumped far high through the rooftop there.
Who else feels like Anthony was having a true experience 😂. It do be like that with BTS these old deep cuts just hide gems. And the live version will always blow this out of the water too. He might not survive. Nobody recommended Seo Taeji to him.

The song was originally to encourage runaway teenagers to go back home. BTS uses the remix for the same thing. There's a music video for the BTS version that makes that part of things much more clear.
If watched carefully, you can see the genius BTS has for incorporating the original maker's imagery/symbology and their own symbology when they do a remake like this song's MV. They make perfect homages to original creators while also making it their own. This MV is a perfect example of that.

Come Back Home is an original song by Seo Taiji and Boys released in 1995. Seo Taiji is a legend in South Korea and is considered the origin of kpop, he's like generation zero of kpop (BTS is 3rd gen). In 2017 Seo Taiji celebrated his 25th anniversary in music and invited BTS to the concert and sort of pass the baton to them in carrying the music and message to the new generation. In this concert is when they performed this song and others.
BTS did a great cover! Jin's vocals!! Anthony, you need to watch the live performance there, and they also did it in their 4th MUSTER in 2018.

A remake is when one records a previously recorded song in a radically different style.
The main difference between the two is that a cover is supposed to be made during the the time period of the original, while a remake is done in a later period (ie a song from 1940 done in 1990). BTS created a completely different style from the original
The original song was made by Seo Taiji back in 1995, who is the all time legend in the Kpop industry like the very 1st Kpop group in the Kpop history.
*Basically, SEO TAJI AND BOYS created kpop as it is today. They changed the landscape of music in Korea today. They are first generation legends*

One of my favorites man, although its only a cover. Not sure if it´s correct piece of information but I have heard that the original artists actually asked BTS to do a re-make of this song to celebrate their anniversary. I love this song so much and the live stage with Jin´s opening (with his haunting high notes ) is OUT OF THIS WORLD. You should really check it out, it is such a bad ass performance.

There is a lot to unpack about this one. BTS received the most prestigious consent to remake the original song Come Back Home from Seo Taiji & Boys responsible for the revolutionary change of music to hip hop, electro, etc. Their impact brought recognition to youth as consumers of music in S.Korea. BTS got their hands on the song and made it better. The music mix is fire. It was the 20th anniversary I believe. BTS did a huge promo and a concert remix with BTS on stage and part of the singers and performers to the tracks. It's BTS styled in 90s K-hip hop, but a fresher beat. You should see it later on.

There are 2 live versions of this that I know of you need to check out. The first is at Seo Taiji’s 25th anniversary concert and the other is at their 2018 4th Muster. I know others have mentioned this a remake of a Seo Taiji and Boys song from the early 90s. If you recall Seo Taiji was mentioned in the first Rise of Bangtan as the forefather of Korean hip hop.
