It worked! This fix with the s-plus is very easy when you know what to do! No need to remove battery nor cut the wire.

Hello how are you. Congratulations, for having started your skateboard again, I wanted to ask you if you could explain to me how to do it without cutting the cable and without removing the battery.

woah, that was surprising. I didn't realize that middle part was the battery. I thought it was a flat pack like the MiniPro

My Segway does not take a charge, having been inactive for many months. Can it be reawakened? Is this the process to access the battery to awaken the battery. What is necessary for me to charge it?

One mod I'd really like to do to my s-plus is giving it a second battery pack.
I've thought about getting a regular mini segway bottom cover type battery and wiring it in parallel with the existing battery system.
Seems like it should be doable.
Would likely need a second charger for the 2nd pack so they can both be charged at the same time.
I'm theory this would extend the range by just below double, and extend the life of both batteries since they both only would have to give half as much current as normal.

Just plug the piggy back battery directly to + & - of the main battery MAKE SHURE YOU BYPASS the BMS of the Main battery, your PIGGIBACK BATTERY May have a BMS on-board. I DO THIS WITH MY WORKS BLOWER and extend the running time from 10 MN in Turbo mode to 40 minutes and the kicker, my works charger charges both if I leave the piggy boost pack connected . Call me if you need more info, small devices or big the principles work, not shure I can leave my phone # here so google me Christian StClaire Nano-Oil

Hi Christian, could you explain a Lil more about bypassing the original BMS? So if I connect a new connector to the original +/- wires, (after BMS), that would accept any extra battery, if you just plug it into the connector? Cheers

Thank you for this video. It helped me recover my battery. I was about to cut my charger cord, but I decided to play with my volt meter 1st trying to figure out which of the 4 connectors on the regular charging end was wired to the positive female banana connector and which was wired to the negative female banana connector. So I had my volt meter in continuity mode and tested each of the four posts on the battery with each of the two female banana receptacles. I was surprised that none of them showed continuity. BUT then I noticed that the LED on the bottom of the battery was blinking red. It had previously been dark. So I just connected the charger and now the charger brick has a solid red light and the LED on the bottom of the battery is blinking red. It had blinked green a couple of times when I first started this reply and within a few minutes, it is now just blinking red. Maybe testing the continuity between the four posts on the battery's charging connector and the two banana receptacles reset something because now it appears to be charging and I did not have to cut my charging cable.

I know this is an old post, but can you give anymore detail to what you did to fix the dead battery issue? Where is the LED on the bottom of the battery? You used a voltmeter on the front charging plug of the Segway and ran the points to the red contact wire connected to the battery itself? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for posting this video. How much mileage did you get in your original battery pack and what was/were the symptoms that lead you to isolate the problem to the battery pack? I am asking this questions as I have also a Mini S that had been inoperational for more than a year as it would not start. When I press the Power Button, it wont start. The battery is fully charged and can be charged (according to the display) but it does not do the normal thing of starting and balancing. I am thinking this coud be a Controller Board issue since the Battery seems to be okay but not sure. I have seen some comments in other CZcams videos about similar issues with Mini S Plus but no solutions offered. I have an overall mileage of about 500+ km on my Mini Plus. Have you ever experienced problems leading to exchange of Controller board? Appreciate to hear your inputs.
