      Ah it's so lovely isn't it. I must make the bag - especially since it won't matter if that doesn't fit anymore :). Thank you for watching xx

    I love the Ikatee Jasmin. I have actually only made it for my son so far! 🤣 Peony Patterns have lovely dresses for girls - their Wattle Dress is my favourite - and they go up to size 14! 💕

    Great content! I love the Petite stitchery Yoggers. Its a free pattern and there is a kids and an adult version, plus option for different lengths.

    Jalie patterns are amazing for sizing!! I have two of theirs a basic tee and a rain jacket which I am making into a mountain biking jacket for my partner and the sizes go from 2 years old right up to men's all in one pattern. They are really well priced when you think how many garments you can get out of the one pattern!

    I get so sentimental about sewing for my kids- especially when they grow out of a favourite pattern 😢 I always sewed the Oliver +S bucket hat every summer and the mittens every winter, it was a tradition. This year my son was too old to want a bucket hat. He’s the last one to grow out of that pattern so I need a new tradition. My eldest is nearly 14 so hardly ever wants handmade clothes now- perhaps the dressing gown idea will be a good one for us too!

      Awww I completely get that. My daughter is only nine but her tastes are getting so grown up already. I think dressing gown/pjs is the way to go that can be the new tradition 😊 xx

    Great Vlog thanks Sally. Do you have any suggestions for a jersey dress for a 9 year old, but with no “pattern-hacking” needed please? 🙏🏼

    For the peplum blouse at 6:24, i have a question. I own that same floral fabric that you used for it. I am yet to use the fabric because it is very sheer and see through. Ive been wanting to use it for sewing pyjamas but I’ve struggled with how I can make it opaque. What have you done? It looks to me that you lined it. If that is indeed the case, then what type of lining (one that isn’t thick or stiff) did you use?

    • @SecretLifeOfASeamstress
      @SecretLifeOfASeamstress  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello. Yes you're right I have lined it because the pattern has you fully line the bodice anyway so that worked perfectly. I believe I used a white polycotton I already had in my stash (it was a while ago now). Depending on the type of pyjamas you are planning to make, could you fully line them or perhaps cut them again from a lining or light cotton fabric and just back the fabric in that and then sew together as one fabric if that makes sense? Thanks for watching x
