COH isn't really old school. Old School would be something along the lines of Warcraft, Command and Conquer, or even Dune level of Old School.

Dude , today I had the shittest day at work , then for some reason I got this huge fever and couldn't breath well, went to the hospital....found out I am covid 19 positive....I'm in hospital bed now , trying to recover and rest.....this announcement dropped and all of a sudden my day is better !!!! I feel better !!!! 😁

@@JonesYHF I have a feeling this is sarcasm but yes Italy defiantly had an army haha. As much of a meme as there made out to be it be fun to try them out and get some more variety in the axis wing of the game as the allies have had with the Brits, Americans, Russians etc.
The Italian airborne regiments were something to be feared and would make a fine addition to the game.

Drafted into service at the onset of the war, a young man whose hopes and dreams for the future were cut short by the bonemills of the eastern front. After his company took heavy casualties and he lost many friends, the Iron Cross he received for saving one of his men out of a ruined building weighed heavy around his neck, the things he had to witness that day would never again leave his mind fully.
During a brief period at home he was promoted to sergeant and his heavily diminished unit was patted up with newly drafted recruits. Most of them too young to have ever kissed a girl. What a waste he thought, but then, he was not much older when it all started.
His unit redeployed to southern Italy to stave off an invasion from the south, now that Italy had retired from the war. During his deployment there he met a young woman that cared about the well being of the soldiers, brought them food and became a liaison to the locals as she spoke some german. The two of them became friends quickly and for the first time in a year the nightmares stopped. Maybe, he thought, maybe when all of this is over he would return to Italy, maybe he would meet her again and then, maybe one day, he might even propose to her.
I would love to see this special Tank Operations from COH 1 again!!!
Hopefully there will be Italian, Vichy French, Finnish, and Japanese forces in this. The only non German Axis we've seen over the years has been COD 2 BR1, Combat Mission, Sudden Strike 4, RO Ostfront mods like Mare Nostrum, Men of War, and a handful of units in Blitzkrieg.
Try steel division 2. So many axis divisions available from many countries. Even Romanian divisions available. Fun game

@@mariano98ify COH2 was seemed to be based on the eastern front and yet we got british and americans, though ardennes dlc does kinda counterprove it , but still with theaters of war, og factions and campaigns being based purely on the eastern front.
Seeing Japan in the Mediteranean and North Africa would just be weird. I was actually hoping COH3 would be set in the Pacific. So you could get ANZAC, the US, Japan and all their puppets, China, India, etc. Oh well, as long as the franchise isn't dead in the water.

I know they had a pretty tragic year when coh2 was released I think it was like a creative lead passed away. I’m glad to see them pushing forward and bringing the game into the next Gen.

I stayed up until 3am for this drop, it was so hype. This trailer followed by real gameplay footage and then a gameplay stream where the game was functioning? Unheard of. Thank you so much Relic.
Got to play the open alpha build of this game. It felt pretty good, and I definitely liked the various new features and changes that were made. The campaign style is quite unique, merging a hexagonal Civ style large scale map for grand strategy and RTS skirmish:major battles quite well.
With rumour of more factions in the future after launch, I look forward to see what Relic will introduce. It would be neat to see a refresh of the Soviet forces, and possibly other theatres like the pacific

I am very happy that we are getting a new Company of Heroes game. Company of Heroes always been trying to historically accurate. But some stuff really puzzled me in this video.
First of all, we see that Royal SAS commandos are making an amphibious infiltration but just some moments later, we see paratroopers are landing close to the same town. Either all German/Italian patrols are blind or something like that. Why infiltration if you are going to make an obvious assault or why assault if you are going to infiltrate? They didn't attack on different targets, instead they gathered up.
Secondly, who the hell brings Churchill tanks to Italian towns? Churchills rarely used for city operations. Before M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbos (Armored Sherman) were used. Churchills were used to assault enemy fortifications. How the hell those big and long Churchills maneuver in those narrow streets??? And again same question: "How the hell Germans are not aware of those big tanks approaching to their town?" You cant hide those giant tanks anywhere. Why attackers always avoid using big tanks? Because if your tank gets knocked up, it would block all the street and you will not be able to advance anymore and that tank wreck will serve as a barricade for the defender.
Lastly, any defending force would use houses as bunker. How the hell a machine gun regiment just lays over on the pavement in the middle of all crossways? It is like "HELLO GUYZ, SOMEONE SHOOT US PLEASE!" Again another stupid demonstration of "hehehe enemy is stupid, we just run and shoot them like Hollywood style!"
I was expecting a better intro for sure. I guess i will never have the taste of Company of Heroes 1 and its expansions (ToV etc.) which show the war from all perspectives with good and evil.
I hope it will not be a big flop like Dawn of War 3. Fingers crossed.

Hopefully they will not remove the weather conditions because some players will be crying that it's too hard to play with them (like in CoH2)

Wow! The production quality that went into cut scenes really look fantastic - bordering on uncanny (even if the story plot part about the Churchill tanks showing up in an Italian town from out of nowhere didn't make much sense)

They seem to be approaching it theatre by theatre. CoH 1 was Normandy/the Western Front, CoH 2 was (originally) the Eastern Front, and CoH 3 is now Italy and North Africa. Hopefully CoH 4 is Pacific and we can get like Chinese soldiers and Gurkhas and stuff

Exactly. I think people are really missing out on the possibilities of having a Pacific Theater-focused game. Obviously you would have the IJA and US Marines which would really freshen up the CoH faction roster, as well as having a few sub factions like the Commonwealth forces. You could even have China as a faction similar to the Soviets with more manpower but lesser-quality tech. I'm honestly disappointed in everyone who voted for ANOTHER European theater with the same factions we've already had. I mean they didn't even show an Italian faction smh

Make a German and king tiger campaign like the first one. Was disappointed seeing nothing but allies side of things in the last one, aside from a few case missions.
You did have that Russian/German theater of war mode on COH2, and it was prob longer to do then the main game campaign really and had its own story elements.
@@ConfusionDistortion If you thought that was satisfactory then you don't really care about their being a German campaign in the third one either. I played all the theater of wars, solo and with friends. We all thought it was lack luster compared to what it could of been. It was nothing like the work they but into either of the campaigns.
When the lady picked up the German's rifle, I wondered if there will be civilian units in the game, like how CoH2 had the Polish resistance fighters in one campaign mission.
The addition of a resistance force comprised of civilians as an entire faction would be crazy, but probably wouldn't make sense to have an entire company of civilians go up against an entire company of actual soldiers. If there are civilian fighters, they'll probably only be somewhere in the campaign like in CoH2. Not an actual faction playable in skirmish or multiplayer.
You guys put the jack of diamonds in there!? That's so sick! That's my old unit, our CSM a few years ago brought that back as our helmet patch so it's awesome to see on here! Can't wait!

Dawn of War 1 was one of the best RTS games ever, Dawn of War 2 was mediocre, Dawn of War 3 was a train wreck. Company of Heroes 1 was also one of the best RTS games ever, Company of Heroes 2 was also mediocre, Company of Heroes 3...
Much as I love the RTS genre and the original games Relic put out, this is a studio that has not shown any cause for optimism in the past 15 years.

What a disappointment that a great franchise like Company of Heroes is being left to die in this way. We all know that the game could have been released in better conditions. What really happened, we still don't know to this day. What's going on with all of you? Don't you realize that this is the holy grail of your company and has enormous potential if things are done right? For God's sake, don't let it die like this. Currently, there are more players in CoH2 than in CoH3, and I know you already know this, so you should pull up your pants and offer us a quality product that Company of Heroes 3 deserves. There has been a lot of feedback from the community, and this is disrespectful to the people who love and trust in this project. I just hope that this was a bump in the road and that you can "finish making" this great game.

We get it, the Germans are the bad guys. But why do game companies always have to portray them as incapable of putting up a proper fight?
I know right, and if they do show them fighting well, they get called Wehraboos. Steel Division 2 shows them as close to their historical capability.

There's also Hearts of Iron IV but that's more tactical and there are historical mods that make it more enjoyable.
But if you are looking for a direct clone of this style but with Germany. Look up
Call to Arms - Gates of Hell DLC expansion.
CoH3 will add nicely to my collection of RTS games that I still play--including CoH and CoH2.
