Working on the track was fascinating to me. I spent over a decade working with the M1/M1A1 Abrams track .. and whatever version was really, really heavy which means watching this "cute" track being manhandled made me smile in appreciation.

My colleague visited your museum last week (we are in Perth on the other side of the country, but he was visiting Cairns). He knew I watched these videos and I really want to see the museum in person. He bought me one of those water bottles that look like a tank shell from your souvenir store. It's awesome! I've been taking it to the gym and getting a few weird looks. He snapped a photo of Jason working at the front desk too (he took the photo because the desk is shaped like a tank).

Hey Kurt! Loved the camera angle you put in at 19:26. Really goes to show the interesting and unique viewpoint that many of us will never get to see. It also speaks volumes about the time, effort, and dedication that you go to showcase the talents of these remarkable men doing such wonderful preservation work. It also brings to life what the actual armoured crewmen of these tanks, would've gone through in the everyday drudgery of maintenance and repair back in WW2. Keep up the absolutely brilliant work! Cheers from Canada!

Workshop Wednesday, the ultimate drug, & I am completely hooked!
    I always want more!
My career in the Australian Army was always attached to Armoured Corps, & I loved my job...
So, now, I live my life vicariously through the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum CZcams channel, & their fantastically talented & dedicated staff.
    Jealous? Not much!
Were I younger, I would camp on their doorstep, until they got so sick of me, I would be accepted as a volunteer, to add my skills to the pool of talented tradies who work at the best job I could imagine...
Anyway, enough of my daydreaming, & thanks to the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum for feeding this wonderful addiction!!😂

Interesting how the track was placed. The Aus Armour team had a concrete floor - think how the same operation would have been carried out, in a paddock (wet, muddy) side of a road (dusty), in the rain. From what I have read of German Panzer crews completing this operation - no different to what Aus Armour has shown, only the terrain was different.

Nope. Actually there's 97 track links per side! - If my 1/16 scale model panzer IB is correct! I just finished the tracks the other day! 776 parts in the 2 sides in fact! It took me nearly 2 weeks to make them up with metal pins, but now they're finished they work beautifully! Working on return rollers & a paint mask for them too! Nearly forgot! I made up a paint mask for the 10 road wheels, but luckily there's plenty of room for 8 return rollers too! I'll probly sell the mask for $25 or $30 on flea bay to the next builder when I'm done with it!
    Great video fellas! Thank You!

Bruce Crompton is just fantastic. Can you believe this Pzkw I Ausf. A? It is an Ausf. A ---- I think....?
Sad reminders of the Holocaust, but these also mark history with the greatest armor clash the world has ever seen. They used steel chariots in the ancient days of the Bible. The tanks mark both World Wars as military inventions.
This Pzkw I Ausf A has been completely restored. I wished they could have had these tasks going prior to the making of the movies "A Bridge Too Far" and "Saving Private Ryan."
Robert Shaw's "Battle of the Bulge" film was in desperate need of these. That Panzerkampfwagen I could be inserted in a movie role with Sdkfz 234 armored cars as it relates to the Pzkw II and Luchs.
Thanks for all that you do. Thanks to Bruce Crompton also. This is exciting to see these life sized vehicles that were all destroyed after WW2 for scrap metal.
Okay.... answering my own question... It's an Ausf. B instead. The Ausf. B version is a little bigger than the Ausf. A
