I’d like to imagine Jervis was actually a normal person until Alice had an accident in childhood, maybe even a nosebleed, and then he reflexively went over to help her, see if she was okay, and got a drop of blood on his skin.

I freaking love Jervis Tetch from Gotham. Along with Penguin, Jerome, and Victor Zsasz. They're definitely my favorites. PLEASE resume this show, it's an absolute masterpiece.

Now, I have plenty of issues with the Gotham TV series, but the idea of Mad Hatter being a straight-up hypnotist who uses the White Rabbit's watch to hypnotize people is nothing short of genius.
What issues do you have with the show? I'm just curious.
@@kurvos I felt that some storylines were a bit repetitive where-as others were a bit too unexplored. Some characters were left hanging with nothing to do while other characters were doing too much stuff that it didn't feel believable. But it wasn't enough to prevent me from enjoying the show as much as I did, which was quite a bit.
@JP-mc1dr some of my biggest problems are things related to Barbara Gordon, Lee Thompkins, and Fish Mooney. Never really cared for any of those characters, and they got WAAAY too much exposure.
But my number 1 biggest issue is the inclusion of the two not-Joker Jokers. Such blatant fanservice that feel extremely out of place in pre-Batman Gotham lore, and I just think the actor's performance is way more cringeworthy than people seem to think.
Otherwise, I practically love almost everything else about the show, more or less.
BS is a great actor, I'm really in love with him! ♥
Something else to mention about this Hatter: he's clearly an artist. With all the baggage that type of soul and lifestyle comes with.

Benedict Samuel delivers a fantastic performance as the Mad Hatter! If the Mad Hatter is brought to live action in movies, I hope he's like this iteration.

I instantly fell in love with the villain of The Mad Hatter since playing Arkham City for the first time. And when I saw Gotham bringing him to life I was stoked and floored by the performance of Benedict Samuel. Jervus Tetch was such an interesting character in the Batman mythos and I’m glad that we got an adaptation as great as Gotham did it.

Somebody already said they like his natural voice but i have to say it would be funnier if he kept his accent but Alice spoke normally. Baby picked up an accent from being too delulu.

Love the Mad Hatter, one of my favorite Batman villains. However, I really don't care for this portrayal of the Hatter. He seems to calm and nonchalant about what he is doing. Even when he sees Alice he's just like, "Oh Alice I found you." in a voice that just sounds like, "I'm playing a crazy person." I'm not sure if it's the actor or director but this version of the Mad Hatter is not how I think the character should act.
