Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

"I have a bad, bad feeling............that my baby..........don't live here no more
THAT'S ALRIGHT, I STILL GOT MY GUITAR...LOOK OUT NOW!"
This is my absolute fav from Jimi!!! I just wish it was about 15 mins longer!
Check out some of the live versions! They do
When Jimi came over to London in 1966 everybody was mad for blues music so Jimi wrote "Red House".
Jimi had already written & performed this song in Greenwich Village in 1966 before he went overseas while he was playing with Jimmy James & the Blue Flame
This man did more for guitar than anyone
My all time favorite track from Jimi - this shows off his blues roots like nothing else he ever did...... and this original studio version of Red House is the best he did in my opinion!
Couldn’t agree more. His studio recordings are his best works, with this version of Red House easily his best by a mile.
Agreed! There is actually 2 original studio versions, and this is technically the 2nd one. He did a version for the UK release of 'Are You Experienced' which came out several months before the US version of the album and is slightly different, most noticeably the intro guitar lick. But in my opinion the US one is still the best studio recording!
An awesome guitarist.
Goosebumps all ready, by hearing the first notes. 🎸🎸🎶🎶👍
I first heard this way back in 1967 as a 16 year old. It sent shivers up my spine then, and it still does now. He was quite extraordinary!
It's been said here already but I'll say it again: "Red House" live at the San Diego Sports Arena, San Diego, CA, May 24, 1969 is probably the best version I've ever heard. It's been released on a few albums, most notably "Stages" (the longest version at 13:42) and "In The West" (13:12). The studio version you listened to was under 4 minutes so you know he really went off on the solos in the San Diego version.
How about Jimi doing Johnny B Goode - live video!
Live from Berkeley May 1970. Amazing performance. That guitar is screaming!!!
That is ASS KICKING!
Finally!! I’ve been requesting this one every where!! I’ve always thought it’s one of Jimi’s best. I was 15 when I first heard his music 💜👵🏼✌🏼🌻
Shawn! Another fav song! 🤩
My favorite Jimi song! And I have read that it was his father's favorite too.
You got to hear Red House play live by Jimi. It's like a phenomenon. The performances I would suggest you listen to would be, Isle of Wight, Royal Albert Hall, Fillmore East 1968, Newport and DEFINITELY Randall Island. Each one of these red house performances are unique and all 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome. When you get a chance check out a live version. Red House live at San Diego 69 is a lot of people's favorite but there are many great versions , each unique.✌️
Jimi doing blues. I'm here for it! ♥
Dear Shawn. I don't know if you've done any Gary Moore, but he plays Red House at the Fender 50th Anniversary show at the Royal Albert Hall. He brings the house down. Check it out!!! It's one of my favorite Jimi covers.
I agree 👍
It's nice you're reacting once again to my man Shawn. His playing was unique, ahead of it's time... a unicorn, peace.
Thanks for playing lots of Jimi
Red House Live, either from Isle of Wight or Winterland concerts. Jimi goes wild on the guitar.
Jimi could play ANY style, The Blues included. For another Jimi tune to play try "If Six Was Nine", which was featured in the movie "Easy Rider". I think the term is Bas Ass.
Oops, it should read BAD ASS, WTF is a Bas Ass. Bad editing I guess.
Bought this album when it first came out.
I have been a subscriber for quite a while, but this is my first comment. I love your reactions and your desire to experience and discover music that was before your time and educate yourself about the musicians and the different groups that they were a part of. I was raised during the late 50s and early 60s, and I love many types of music and have lived through a lot of music history. I really appreciate that you are authentic and real with your reactions, and when the music moves you, you're not afraid to show it.
I’m with you, brother. Born 1953. Love to see the young generation exploring and enjoying our era of music.
Some people say the blues is dead; that's crazy. Everything comes out in blues music: joy, pain, struggle. Blues are felt by everybody at some point or another. We can all relate. From Muddy
Waters, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Clapton, Gary Moore, Jimmy, B.B, King, Roy Gallager, Joe Bonamassa, and on and on. More blues, please. Thanks for the great music.
An aside about Stevie Ray - he was much loved where I live in New Zealand, and regarded himself almost as a New Zealander, touring out here whenever he could. During one tour he and his New Zealand friend guitarist and mouth-harp player Midge Marsden recorded a long-form ad for a long gone chain of gas stations, along with vocalist Murray Grindley. It's a lovely rarity that most SRV fans have never heard of, but worth watching. Enjoy! czcams.com/video/tsJtep3inyo/video.html
What I hate is when people bad mouth Jimi Hendrix. They see a crappy video of him playing out of tune because prior to the filming of that song he had done something that required the whammy bar which will cause your instrument go out of tune. You can't judge Hendrix buy a grainy crappy video. He is one of the best, if not the best
Love this song! You should check out the song If 6 were 9 🤘
At the time, Hendrix was the Van Halen of the electric guitar. Like Eddie, he did things on the guitar that no one had heard before. He was an excellent musician, song writer, and innovator extraordinaire. RIP king.
I was all set to see Jimi opening for The Monkees in Duluth, Minnesota in July, '67. But goddammit if Jimi didn't get the boot just before. Fair enough, I was young enough to only care about The Monkees, but I could just about cut my throat for this missed opportunity.
I saw someone else mentioned the San Diego Sports Arena live version of this, that IMHO is the best live Hendrix ever recorded...I don't think video of it is available, but it can be found on the album 'Hendrix In The West'. You don't need video, he paints the emotions on your mind with the feedback. Enjoy!
Listen to a live version, maybe the Isle of Wight. He just goes off on one for 10 minutes, amazing.
Love it. Love it.
I don't know if it's valid or not but back in the day in the service if you went TDY (temporary duty), they had to send you back to your original base at 100 days or make you permanent party at the base you were at temporarily. Jimi was in the Army, maybe that's where the 99 and 1/2 days come from?
Jimi plays the blues.
As great as this version is from the U.S edition of Jimi's debut album, the alternate take that appeared on the UK version of the album is even better.
There's a few live cuts of it that are incredible too.
Are you Experienced. Title track 1st album titled Are You Experienced 1967. It's my Lord's Prayer. Jimi rendered Modernity dead and made Postmodernity look square. My wife with Bipolar loves 'Manic Depression' and 'I don't live today.'
Stevie Ray Vaughan may have surpassed Hendrix in his technical abilities, but he'd never have known where that bar was without Hendrix inventing it.
Many imitators only one Jimi
It's extremely debatable that SRV surpassed Hendrix in technical abilities. Nobody - to my ears - has even matched Hendrix, let alone surpassed him.
No Way... I was able to see SRV six times in Maryland. I love him and wept in 1990. But Hendrix was another level. Jimi Hendrix was the Greatest Composer/Musician of The 20th Century...
@@TURTLES_FOR_LIFEEE A lot of people feel that way. Look, Jimi was crazy inventive and had an unbelievable feel for the instrument. He created a whole new way to think about the guitar and invented many of the techniques that have influenced nearly everyone. But he was also a little sloppy in his playing, often slightly out of tune, and he didn't always make the best possible choices for what note or chord to hit next. In other words he was not a perfectionist. That's fine - you can't take away points and lower his grade - he was an amazing man. But there are some pretty phenomenal musicians out there. Certainly you know there are a lot who are faster and much more precise, but there are also a lot who are really creative in their own right. From the blues masters like Bonamassa, Eric Johnson, even Orianthi, to some of the brilliant Spanish guitarists like Al DiMeola, to the incredible prog rock guitarists like Brian May and Steve Howe. You can't make fair comparisons between these people, so it's pointless to try to say someone was the best. For my money there was never anyone who did more with the guitar or played with more heart and soul than Jeff Beck, but if I had to pick someone I could say was the best pure guitar musician, I'd have to say Steve Howe. (And I know of at least one cover artist who can play his stuff all day long.) Steve Howe loved Hendrix, but he will tell you Jeff Beck was the best. Plus there are probably thousands we've never heard of. There are way too many greats to try to rank them.
Listen carefully at the end, He says, "How's that one?" HaHaha!
A master class in 1/ 16th notes. Very few guitar players can play this.
Seen Aerosmith quite a few times, and Mr. Joe Perry used to cover "Red House", to let Steven Tyler have a little break during the show.
Wore this album out, back in the day. Title cut is worth a reaction, for sure. Cheers!
Stevie Ray's debut album was in 1983. 13 years after Jimi Died.
Just an observation. I think Jimi didn't like that Hey Joe might be illuminating him in the wrong light as a violent person. So he wrote his own song on how he would deal with the situation. " I'm moving on." And he always got his soul his Spirit to express through his Guitar. Warrior!!🎸❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Goddamn
If you want to check out a live version of red house (audio only), check out this one at San Diego : czcams.com/video/Usm_zYKN6Fw/video.html
The solo is on the level of Machine gun, that will give you an idea. It's insane
Jimi, Stevie Ray and Eric Clapton all knew and respected one another. In fact, Eric was supposed to be on that helicopter flight that crashed, killing Stevie Ray. Eric couldn't go, so gave up his seat to SRV.
Jimi didn't know Stevie. Stevie was 15 when Jimi died.
Stevie Ray never met Hendrix. He was only 16 when Jimi died.
If 6 was 9, little wing, castles made of sand
Hi Shawn. If you want a few recommendations for some amazing performances by Jimi, you have to check these out. All are Jimi at the TOP of his game.
Voodoo Child (Slight Return)
Live at the Atlanta Pop Festival July 4th 1970.
Hear my train a comin
Live at the Fillmore East
1st Show, New Years Eve 1970.
Izabella Live at Woodstock 1969.
These performances will blow your mind. Enjoy.
Different version to the one on the Uk version of Are You Experienced. This is good but I much prefer the cut on the 1st album released in the UK. Think the British and US albums had different versions. Believe this is the US version. Check the UK version and see what you think!

The best ever. If you get the chance, react to "Machine Gun" Live at The Filmore East. It's about 12 minutes long, but it will drop your jaw.
He's reacted to it twice already. The audio and then the video.
I love a version from 'Hendrix in the West' or 'A Film About Jimi Hendrix.'
This studio version from the UK Experience debut I heard later actually. 😊
Try Fire
Buddy Guy did the best cover of Red House !
The "her sister will" line was common in blues songs. eg in "Statesboro Blues" Allman Brothers and also Taj Mahal. This is a wonderful track with lots of feeling and a great beat, but a horrible mix. It sounds as though Jimi's vocals are being played through a very small and old transistor radio.
I like the mix. For me, it fits the era for the form he's referencing.
