Hello aussie new subscriber here showing support to your channel i like the bike restoration great job I'm looking forward to seeing👀 more of your restorations let's stay connected.
Hy mate (didn’t find out your name so far), great job that you do. I am from Germany and I have an Aussi branch of family living in Stanthorpe, QLD. So I’m very interested in these kind of projects and started with the restoration of bikes a couple of months ago through the pandemic. Take care, stay healthy, wear a mask (especially when painting 👍)! Greetings and have a wonderful day 🌞
Hey mate! That’s pretty cool, well I have an instagram is you’d feel like sharing your projects with me Always wearing masks, even too the shops haha, Hope you have a good day
Hey bud top video. The head stem bearing cups need to be knocked out with a flat blade screw driver or a bit of wood smacking them with a hammer also do this with you crank bearing cups and use a a long thread with nuts and washers both sides when reinstalling. Seat needs to slide back along the seat rails . Don't forget to tention your chain.. And mabe new inner brake cables spray wd through the outer cable for a buttery lever feeling , use grease on all threads no lock tight keep up the awesome content.. PS yes I work in bike a bike shop in Australia
I would have not used loctite on them stem bolts. No need for that. Once tightened there not going to come loose. If anything at least blue loctite would be alot easier to get them back off.
Yeah you sure can! I plan to make a video of my setup if you keen, but I use a buffing wheel that attaches to my drill with addition to a polishing compound. I use a variety of sand papers and a Sanding disk for the Grinder aka a Flappy disk 🤙 hope this helps brother!
please dont ever restore a mongoose again or maybe google the definition of restoration because u ruined the bike wrong colour no stickers wrong brake wrong grips wrong wheels jeez dude
2023 is a big year already! I have the biggest project I’m taking on! Maby even too big for me, but come check it out over on my channel! Pt.1 out now

Howdy! Really glad you liked it 😁 Yes yes, Lets connect!
Freestyle bikes from the 80's are worth tons in the States. That Mongoose looks like an early 2010ish.
Yeah your right on the mark there! Ive seen some of the prices for the Retro ones and its crazy!!
@@aussierestorationsmods2715
And most of those prices are for just frame & forks!
Seat post backwards, good job 👍 gear ⚙️ wrong 😑 it will only make the bike slower without a small tooth on the rear wheel.
The gearing has been changed a while ago 👍
@@aussierestorationsmods2715 bike looks good 👍
