I saw this live in 2003, it was the second song on their set list and it sounded exactly like this; insanely raw and gritty with that glorious fast-paced rhythm. As much as I'd love to hear the missing studio version, at this point, it would take away from the dive bar/garage band vibe and I find that's what makes this whole track even better. Forever a favorite.

Wow this is a really good song. Bc I'd always known *of* a song called sister to sleep, I'd assumed I'd heard it before. But I realized I hadn't! I really like it. Jealous of the shows that got the rare songs but my show had a really good set list so I won't complain. Also those screams at the end are really good and energetic

Is this song about the death of Elena Lee Rush? This sounds like it was eventually reworked into Helena. If Gee wasn't drunk when he sang this, we'd probably hear the lyrics better -- but it sounds like this version focused on a child version of himself refusing to sleep or be consoled after hearing news that his grandmother was taken off life support, instead of focusing on him accepting her death and moving on.
