- I started my Accounting journey at PwC as an auditor. After 15 years of that experience, I can tell you there were 6 main benefits to starting out in audit:
Professional Skepticism effect:
Due to the fact that audit is always based on finding support and evidence, Your mind becomes adapted to this. Ultimately down the line, makes your work based on evidence, which will make you much more credible among your peers
Varied clients:
Work on a variety of clients from different Industries such as manufacturing and services. Which will expose you to all the accounting issues that come with that.
Take no BS from auditors:
You will learn how an audit is run from the inside so, down the line, when you sitting on the other side of the table, you will know how to negotiate with auditors
Higher salary history:
You'll begin your salary history on a higher level Because typically Auditors are more than those in Private Industry
Get your CPA chops:
You will get the necessary experience to get your CPA license which is the gold standard for the accounting profession

U the truth of accounting...💪🏾
Auditors are the superheros of financial markets and since being a superhero was my childhood dream that's why I'm an auditor❤
hey why do you say this, i'm looking to puruse a career in audit as i feel that the work they do is very important and i like to feel part of something big and that im making an impact therefore i find your take on auditors being superhero's of there financial markets very interesting and would appreciate if you could please expand on this
@@_itznicoletteA teacher back in my university used to tell us the impact and the importance of our job as auditors (he was a retired Big4 partner btw). This is because the responsibility of keeping the financial system in order lays on our hands, since we are the people in charge of making sure the big companies financial statements are reasonably correct and without any material misstatement. Just take a look at the Enron case and you will see what do I mean.
Furthermore this is because the decision of making an investment in every company in the world relies on the financial analysis which basis are the financial statements, the ones we are responsible of auditing. Of course I’m talking about public companies here but it’s just the same at smaller companies but in a smaller scale as well, we might no be talking about enormous amounts of money such as big companies but there will be someone’s money at stake at any point and we are the ones to make sure that the basis of the available information for decision making is reliable.
can you make a video comparing this to starting in tax? thanks
Just got hired as a Revenue Auditor 😊❤🎉
Auditing is just beautiful because they always have the mindset of doubt when they are going to audit a ny business (professional scepticism)
that's what it says in the Code of Ethics yeah but in the real world there are so many massive corporate scandals involving the Big 4 that could have been avoided by applying these principles we learn
as long as the board will authorise auditor's payment there will always be the mother of all etical threats (self-interest). shareholders, or the end users of the FS, should be more involved in the whole audit process than just giving the green light to appointment
As an auditor for 17 years I agree
How much you earn and how much work do you do per year can you please tell me
What is your work Life balance
@@ArsHaD-dg1gb I am pretty flexible on work hours, which allows me to do a lot of things outside of work

Hi, can we have a video on IFRS 16 if possible? It will really be helpfull🙌🏻
I applied to an internship for Ernst and Young.
I will start my internship too in auditing. Is there any videos for auditing?
Hi ,can you give an advice/tips for people who are introvert /shy and want to work in audit ? 😔
You know I was in the second year of my university ( Bachelors degree in audit and banking ) when I started working for the international company in the audit and consulting department as an intern. I am very shy person and also an introvert due to which I was struggling at the beginning but then when I started working with the new senior (who manages projects after managers) , she showed me that it is okay to do mistakes and she also explained every single detail which was needed for work so I started thinking that it is better to not treat people as your colleagues only but in the first place they are human beings as you and they all started as you can. Keep in mind that in those companies are the same people as you who work hard and who will respect and support you in case you try to do your best, just show your dedication and never hesitate to ask any questions no matter how stupid they may seem to YOU! otherwise you will waste your time as I did during the earliest period of my work

I'll fix it for you: ...the CPA, which is the gold-standard for the accounting profession IN THE US*
10 months at big D and I already want out
Deloitte?
Why?
Hello, I love your videos . I have a question. If I work for an accounting firm conducting auditing, can I have my own small practice , not at a firm level just to provide bookkeeping to small businesses and tax preparation to individuals and small businesses?. Of course no providing this services to the firm clients.
Yes you can!
@@TheFinancialController Thank you so much. I am building my future accounting firm . Starting from small projects , as soon as I pass the CPA Exams I will open the firm and I will learn more along the way.
After taking income tax this semester, I really think audit is for me 😅
The firm I'm working in doesn't give free trips lol,I mean we don't audit multinational companies,we audit government companies or forgein companies branches😂
A shortcoming is like putrid food;
it must be thrown away.
It requires perseverance and determination

Hi, I'm receiving an MBA in Accounting. In the real world, what types of jobs can I get with an MBA in Accounting? Which degree is better? MBA in Finance or MBA in Accounting?
An MBA in accounting is a lot better, in my opinion
@@noorykorky5056 thank you!
Which one has more scope CMA or CPA and earning capacity apart from the salary
CPA
@@crisostomoalmeida670 Thank you for your response
What about starting in tax
Hi,
I feel like a psychopath but I am thinking of moving from industry to big 4.
I like my current job but it feels like I am missing out on massive learning opportunity that I can only experience while young.
My first job was at $45k and after 9 months I got a salry increase making it $52k.
Then after 7 months I left my job to my current one for $75k.
I am not a cpa and still making it this much.
I enjoy working with these people and the managing partners are good people who appreciate evrything I do.
I've been in my current role for 3 months now so I am concerned that I may ruin my relationship with this firm because I'd definetely would want to come back after 2-3 years at big 4.
I got an offer from one of the big 4 for 65k + they will pay for my CPA.
Am I an idiot?
No. Your thought is correct, but…you must be willing and planning to put in 50-60 hours weeks to pay your dues and learn a lot
What if we start in tax?
Amazing benefits there too
Auditors don’t make more than industry accountants on average it’s the same or slightly less
How would it help you travel the world for free?...I am a bit confused on that
Great thing he never replied knowing full well its bs he added because he had to rub it into the peoples faces.
and you will earn less per hour (based on the hours you work) that pretty much any other job besides minimum wage. Audit has terrible salaries if you spread it by the hours you work and work life balance is non existent, and anytime you actually get not to work you have to spend studying.
True. But I guess it has paid me dividends years down the line
Really?
Auditirs earn more is a joke
Alot of this is true for alot of different jobs, even situated around accounting based jobs.
Considering I'm german I can't exactly make accurate comparisons, but the arguments are weak and not really applicable to the real world.
Finding support and evidence:
I can name alooot of jobs that suit that description. Your peers or colleagues will view you as more credible. Yeah that definitely has nothing to do with your work. A giant stretch.
Tbh I can dissect all of the claims made here but nah go live in the bubble you call your channel and the American dream or whatever
