It pains me every time I see a youtuber having to justify their choices. People forget that even though they are sharing snippets of their life with you it is still their life and their choice. I wish we can just watch and enjoy it while realising that every one has their own taste and it's ok. Loved the transformation, Lily ♥️
This was a real education in home decore. The relatively small changes you made changed your room from a 'princess' looking room into a fancy hotel boutique bedroom. I love it xx

By the way why should your choices be controversial? If you want nicknacks on your shelves you do that! If you want a rug on your carpet you go for it! I live in the hot and humid Gulf area so all floors are marble or other stone types because it keeps things cooler but it’s different everywhere so why get all worked up about people doing things according to their taste and needs. Maybe people need to be a bit more educated and accepting of the diverse world we live in!

I can't believe the difference!! The paint colour looks different in both spaces which is crazy. I absolutely love the changes, it's like a grown-up version/more classy/everything you could want in a bedroom. Obsessed!!
Can I just say I love how you spaced this out over so many months to show the actual process of a room makeover, how time-consuming and expensive it can be. It doesn't create any unrealistic expectations for anyone. I love the finished room and found this very inspiring overall! Especially because I also struggle with picking the right colours and accents in a room. Thank you!

Love this, so many makeovers start from scratch with a blank room, whereas this is reality for most of us - deciding how to update but not completely overhaul a room. I found this really helpful- thank you Lily😊 x
The headboard change really opened up the room! My favorite change
I live in the Arctic in norway, and we don't have carpeted floors even though there are literal reindeer eating the flowers in the garden. 😅 We just use big area rugs over wooden floors. Easy to replace, clean and move around. 😊 Never feels cold. We also wear slippers if it's an older house that's not well insolated.
Whatever people want to do is obviously fine. But temperature wise, we don't seem to have an issue. 😊
Was just about to say the same - live in Sweden and it’s obviously cold here, but hardwood floors are found in every home.
(Not a dig towards people with carpets, I understand it’s a cultural thing to some extent.)
Weird how (when you renovate or redecorate) Some rooms are a hit and Then there is one room you just don't know what to do 🤷🏻♀️ but the room looks amazing the green is just spot on & the little details 👌🏻
The difference is incredible! It just feels so warm and welcoming now and the whole thing looks complete.
Omg I LOVE it!! The new headboard really brings out the colour of the walls, whereas the old one made them look almost beige rather than that lush pink. Handles are amazing, in fact everything just looks gorgeous. I’m very jealous! My room is a building site at the mo, but this has given me some great inspiration xxx

Suggestion for the wooden desk drawer: Adding a mat black central nob / handle could allow it to open with one hand and go nicely with the black chair and black accents of the room!

Hey, they sell these things that you can put at the edges of rugs so that they don’t move as much. I think that would be great since you don’t have to lift the rug completely off the ground you, just turn up the corner, stick it on and voila!

Oh my word😲 Your bedroom looks absolutely fantastic. What a difference. I love the fact you added your own special Lily Pebbles touches such as the brass candlestick, the smaller bulbs above the bedside table, the marble slabs on the tables. Ingenious idea for Grey's bottle. Super gallery area. All the accessories including the gorgeous rug are spot on. I love the pink shade on the walls and on the fitted wardrobes. Everything works so well together. Absolutely beautiful Lily❤️

happy to see some love for interior design professionals. they are professionals for a reason. when you see a nice hotel or amazing home in a mag they are that way because they are done by an designer! it's not just choosing cute stuff it's a real skill and art

Wow what a beautiful room in the end! I can't believe people thought all those things were 'controversial', it's very common for people who love interior to opt for those choices. I understand some people prefer functionality over form, but why not both if you can. After all it's your bedroom and you want to relax in it. Well done! I think Rebecca is an amazing interior designer/decorator!
Also in AUSTRALIA that gets really stinking hot in the summers, I think most homes have built in carpets as well unless it was renovated/chosen without carpeting from scratch. But standard homes are carpeted as well. Personally the thing I hated most about carpeting were most of them were beige and you have to be so careful not to spill things but I was always renting so.

The room looks great, I have always coveted your original headboard but it didn’t do anything for your room in its old state and it would make me think twice about buying one like that now. It’s amazing how the bones of the room have stayed the same, colour, wardrobes, bed, carpet but all the other bits have really bought it together. I would be just the same, in that it takes someone to point out ideas to wet your appetite and make re think your choices. It truly looks finished now, so whatever it cost you it was worth it! 👍😀

Beautiful room Lily, now that you explained it, I do think the huge grey headboard you had before was so overpowering, the new one, and especially the soft color goes so well with the wall, same with the bedside tables, the glass and brass were just too much. Overall all the changes make your room so so pretty and they do give it the cozy feeling you were aiming for, maybe is the warm colors :) very very nice

Live in Norway (typically day in winter is 0 to -15C where I live) and no one has carpet, but agree that rugs do provide more warmth. Cultural differences I guess :)
Nora Svihus & what do you generally have? Wooden floors I suppose? Just out of curiosity! In most places I’ve been/lived carpet is seen as unhygienic & not as “nice” as wooden floors but I understand it’s quite cultural...
@@sophieschoices9663 yes wooden floors, and I think many would agree with that carpet does not seem very hygienic and aesthetic. I live in an old building (1912) on the first floor with the original hard wood floors and gets pretty cold in the winter, so rugs and good heating is important! What I find even stranger is how common carpets are in the US where it is also common to wear shoes inside :O!
@@norasvihus omg I literally saw a post about how americans dont take their shoes off just now just before I saw your message! It was joking about how no one understands how theyre using hand sanitizer and soap like there's no tomorrow (which is obviously necessary right now) but then still walk inside their homes with their shoes on! So crazy...& irresponsible right now..!

I absolutely love it! The colours go together so well, the green accents are stunning with the setting plaster! Totally agree with curtains making a huge difference, there's been a massive trend in recent years to not have curtains, but they just bring so much warmth into a space.
The shelving around the TV is really smart. Really makes the TV blend into the area, rather than being a big black thing on a bare wall.

I really like all the changes! My favorite tip is to paint the radiators the color of the wall so it sort of disappears and fades into the walls! It makes such a big difference! I also think adding curtains really elevates the room, provides a feeling of warmth and just makes the room look finished! Sorry Rich, but the pillows tie everything together and dress up the biggest piece of furniture in the room! I’m afraid they need to be there! 😉😉😉 Great transformation to a beautiful cozy room where you’ll look forward to spending your time... asleep and awake! Well done!

Lóve it and súch a difference! Tips: if the marble stains too much: h&m (or zara) also sell them in dark green! Also: headboards are só easy to make yourself! A wooden plank, upholstery, fabric of choice and a tacker, done! 😘😘

The secret of decor is layers. Curtains on top of shutters or blinds. A throw on top of a duvet. Decor. Lighting even if you have overhead lights. It can be minimal, but something is better than nothing.

Been waiting for this. I have setting plaster in one room, I love that colour. We chose a creamy beigy pink carpet. Was hard to find a carpet to go with. I love what you have done.

It looks really beautiful Lily, it’s crazy how well the colours compliment each other as you maybe wouldn’t necessarily think of putting them together. Love the black handles, they make such a difference and your shelving area is so pretty now! I immediately bought the H&M face vase after seeing it in your haul. Wood and rattan furniture is such a trend just now but I also think the styles won’t really date either, as they are quite classic pieces and nothing too out there. Amazing job, it looks fabulous whilst still being functional and workable for what you need it to be. Ps I want more pillows on the bed but my husband doesn’t want to take them off and put them on either 😆. X
