i cant help but be overcome with sadness everytime i watch him land knowing these plays and his intensity was just a ticking time bomb for his body. his mental was too much for our fragile bodies to handle and thats what made him great he was a straight killer. overall i am just glad he got his bag and we witnessed one of the most gifted athletes ever.
It wasnt his playstyle or body, he just got unlucky at the end of a playoff game. His coordination was never the same and thats why all his subsequentional injuries happened. If he didnt tear his acl he wouldnt have had other injuries, not playing for 2 years is what cost him to lose his form and fitness
Nah man, accidents happen and when you do stuff on another level, they can happen more often. The parket is bouncy, this isn't street basketball, today they know how to do recovery, this isn't 80s nba.

One of my all-time favorite Bulls players. Handles, hops, could change direction on a dime, could find another gear to pass his opponent, he never quit on a play...and incredibly humble. This video is proof that I'm not remembering him wrong.
He's my favourite but there's no way D Rose changes the league. He does something only insanely athletic people can do but Curry showed the league that 3s>2s isn't just a meme.
@@Monkey_D_Luffy56 If Bulls meet the Warriors in 2015 and are healthy, they beat them. Bulls were about to go up 3-1 against the Cavs if Lebron doesn't hit that buzzer beater. Bulls would've had a good chance against the Warriors that year
@@ApolloVIIIYouAreGoForTLI Derrick Rose getting injured fucked the Bulls up. Still haven't recovered from that fully. He was our whole franchise basically
The demeanor too. No corny or over-the-top grandstanding like so many others. I'll always remember the 2012 All-Star introductions with everybody acting like complete fools while he just stood there. Humble, but the way he played exuded insane amounts of flair. Already stone cold at 22.
absolutely. I wasn't watching pro ball for that stint of time back then. I only heard his name... until a couple years ago when I discovered some highlight video of his here on YT. Just from those videos, I was able to ascertain that he is one of my top 3 fave players of all time.
I live in Chicago, born in 93, so I missed pretty much all of the Jordan era. Was 5 years old when he won’t his final championship. Happy and saddened to be able to Rose those in my life.
The most underrated part of his game was the pace and patience in certain moments he had the ball…. He just knew exactly when you change direction and speed up everytime. And was an underrated defender.

D Rose's story hits home. today, he's the opposite version of what he is before. he's just super raw as rookie having less finesse, less technique, his jumpshot is ugly but he's darn great. everything he does just has so much power. from a simple left-right cross to his finishes. not to mention he's a natural acrobat in the air and has a giant-killer floater. now he use his explosion when he needed to and developed more finesse and technique and now has a reliable jumpshot. goes to show that he's a real student of the game.
Besides MJ and Kobe, I can literally watch D. Rose highlights every day. Dude had the combination of Speed, power, and hops to do whatever he wanted. Damn them injuries...and I don't think there was any commentator who was more excited about a player than how Stacey King was about D. Rose. Lmao love the commentary
Same just wondering when ones of those knees will give up. Crazy how he had some of the best burst speed and hops in the league and it ended up being his weakness.
Really feel bad for Gen Z fans or new fans that didn’t get to see prime DRose. But I’m fortunate enough to see him play from his rookie year to his prime years. Thanks DRose!
Drose is the player that introduced me to Basketball. Rose was the first explosive point guard which was never been seen before alongside Westbrook then so on, Rose and Westbrook is the pioneer of the explosive point guards
As much as it is a shame he got injured, I still count Derrick Rose's legacy as one of the greatest. Sure it's a shame he didn't have a long career, but I think it's time we change the narrative and just appreciate what he did bring to basketball. Forever my favourite player.
Prime D rose was like 2 kyries put together … this dude was just different with no injuries he’s having a top 10 of all time career … absolute highlight machine … hops through the roof … greatest lay package of all time … clutch at the end of the game … handles so insane I don’t know how anyone could guard him … fast as fuck but also quick … the best basketball player I’ve ever seen growing up for his size and position I’ll never stop D riding prime rose 😂
He was the definition of the other team's coach at the press conference saying "we played like shit. We knew what Rose came to do and we just let him have his way with us."
Look where he took off and where he landed and jumping sideways to avoid the body contact on the scalabrine block 00:42. He was so powerful with his jumps and cuts. He ate up the court in front of him the way Adrian Peterson would eat up the field. Just pure powerhouse and yet maintained the skill and touch to splash shots in and kiss shots off the glass.
I saw Rose play against my home town Blazers. He was awesome, great memory. He was maybe the quickest I've seen at a Blazer game. Although I've seen Clyde a couple times back in the 90's. He was special.
DRose is the only player I've seen with the mentality of driving to the basket with sheer determination. Kids nowadays will never comprehend how much he inspired hoopers aging between 20-40. Just like how everybody was mimicking Curry's 3s, we were all storming that paint trying to be like him.
