    Thanks for this video. Great explanation and display with the plexi glass walls to show what happens behind.

    Thanks so much for this video! Using the plexiglass so we can see what happens is perfect!! We've never dealt with metal studs before and had no idea what they looked like.

      Glad you liked it. It’s hard to deal with metal studs especially it’s so different from wood studs. We really wanted to show the mechanics of how metal studs look like and how to get the elephant anchors through the 1/2” hole and how it sits flat against the metal stud. So definitely something we are glad it helping lots of people. Sometime the elephant anchors may not sit flat against the metal studs and you can see why it happens in this video.

    Thank you for the video. Its very clear. I have a question. How can I avoid hitting water/gas pipes when drilling metal stud? Its easier with wood because I just poke and feel that its wood

      Make sure there is no bathroom or toilet at the back. Also pipes are usually from the bottom of the wall. If you are worried make a large hole in the middle where there are not studs to check.

    Will these anchors also work on horizontal furring strips? According to my stud finder, there are only horizontal supports behind my drywall.

      The horizontal metal channels are resilient channels for sound proofing. www.homedepot.ca/product/bailey-metal-products-rc-plus-12-ft-resilient-channel/1000165782

    I have metal frame and I want to frame for an electric fireplace (using 2x4)…..my concern is how many elephant screws can you use in a metal stud without compromise. I have no way to contact the builder to verify how much weight it would hold

      Sorry for the delay. You could use upto 4 per vertical stud since it’s reinforced by the drywall on both sides. At least 6 inch distance from one anchor to the other.

    Can this be used to hang something heavy like kitchen cabinets

    • @LeslievilleGeeks
      @LeslievilleGeeks  Před rokem +1

      Yes. These elephant anchors are amazing on metal stud walls. You can use the anchor through the metal stud or through the drywall only. Holds heavy loads. amzn.to/3PfXZzN

      Why am I the only one that’s confused? How did you attach the plate to the wall?

    What is the type of 1/2 in drill bid that you used to make the whole onbthe metal stud? Also the brand...

    • @LeslievilleGeeks
      @LeslievilleGeeks  Před rokem

      We use the Condomounts kit. The kits comes with a nice titanium drill bit which is sharp and cuts metal easily. amzn.to/3W5mb8e
