Weingut Alten - 2022 Late Harvest Riesling, Maximiner Klosterlay Vineyard

The Maximiner Klosterlay vineyard is an ideal place for Riesling grape vines. The 50 year old vines face Southwest, with the Mosel River at the bottom and an open valley on the opposite bank. The soil is grey and blue slate, quartzite, and clay; underground springs provide sufficient water to the vines above.
This wine contains our best and most ripe grapes. Apricot, orange zest, cloves and minerals are enveloped in a great balance of acidity and sweetness. This wine is an excellent choice to pair with Thai curry or other similarly spicy ethnic dishes. It also goes wonderfully well with salty bold cheeses.
