I’m so happy to see this because I was going to buy a sequins dress and I changed my mind because I didn’t know it was elegant. Thanks for sharing and thank you for helping me save my money. 😁

I just don’t get why people are so sensitive nowadays, to be honest I do find cute the Christmas Jumper just to get cozy at night with the fireplace on watching a Christmas movie, Anna doesn’t like it because is not elegant? In fact is not and it’s fine!!
Of course I won’t wear it in a specific occasion!!
@@valentina_melethiel tastes differ)

The jacquard chinese dress made out of really good fabrics is a good exception… ❤️ high society Chinese woman wearing it while walking with such class are such an art show to watch.
@Nicole Lam so in other words a holiday
Ok don't wear it if you're not Asian tho
@@ccxotwod why not???? What about respecting the culture of my chinese husband? BS
@@16december i mean if you educate yourself about their culture and don't just wear it because "fashion" knock yourself out but be aware of cultural appropriation
@@ccxotwod I grew up in a multi cultural country where we celebrate all festivals. I’m muslim but I WILL wear the dress!
Elegance is not measured on clothes or bags alone. It’s how you confidently carry yourself and also the words you speak. That’s a perfect definition of elegance and class.
Cardi B is confident. The shineequa down the street is confident. Would you consider those types elegant or classy??
That's a cliché.
@@JaneDoe-nh2qbwhat shorty is saying is that having manners is key to achieve the elegance aesthetic the clothes bags and accessories can come later
I think Anna Bay also addresses that in other videos and agrees with you but I think she was just talking about dressing.
@@JaneDoe-nh2qb What does "The Shineequa" mean?
I am so glad you talk about the cupcake dress. Even when I was looking for a graduation ball dress I decided to buy a long, very elegant one. Never really liked this short piece of garment. Now I am 25 and still don't understand the obsession with this type of dress. I had a photoshoot earlier this year wearing it and all I was thinking about the entire time I was wearing it was how incredibly short it was! How can anyone wear it in public, really?!
😂 agreed- for me it's just so juvenile looking
I’m 5’10” n all legs , it’s a shirt on me I don’t even go near it lol
I honestly would have been embarrassed to wear that at 16. Part of the fun of growing up and going out is looking like a grownup. Yet I see 60 year olds wearing this stuff. It looks like the maker did not want to pay for an adequate amount of material. If you have a rich fabric, you would want as much of it as possible. That said, there is an exception to every rule. I have a senior friend who wears tutus and combat boots and looks great. You have to find your own style, above all of these guidelines.
What's that dress type called anyways?
@@alisonfraser3305 , Im 58 years old and i pray that my eyes will Never have the image of a 60 year old woman wearing this cheap juvenile dress emblazoned in my memory! The idea of my eyes beholding such a horrible pathetic image fills me with terror!
I'll play it safe this Christmas and wear my elf costume.
Wow, she just wiped out my shopping list 😂
I was literally holding my breathe the entire time because I JUST ordered my dress last night for Christmas. 🤣 I think I’m in the clear! 🙌🏻
Hahaha
Wear that Christmas jumper !!
I love wearing mine, especially when children are around. Its fun and can be super classy without being stuffy and uptight. 🎅🎄🕯🎅🎄🕯🎅🎄🕯🎅🎄🕯🎅🎄🕯
The Pretty Dress Company has a dress style called the Tilly. It's vintage and glamourous! It comes in a fitted and a full skirt option, and three of the many colours offered are red, deep green, and navy blue velvet. They're warm, the tailoring and styling are excellent and classy, and the velvet adds a layer of warmth!
WOW. I see what you mean! These dresses are amazing! On an un-holiday note, I'm liking the Kennedy Roll Collar, SO CLASSY, absolutely timeless. Thank you for posting this, I am bookmarking this site!
THANK! YOU!
I love Anna Bey! She’s so authentic and low key savage 💕
Anna if you’re reading this, can you please recommend some elegant online shops for casual/going out outfits?
Yes, me too . Thanks .
I love her savageness lol she doesn't mince words in the most elegant way.
you can't wrong with a nice cashmere sweater, scarf and a tailored trousers in winter :)
This is about party attire so as Anna says in the last point that WOULD be wrong and too casual
@@alexandragatto It's also about family gatherings, and this would be a great choice, especially when children are there. It's hard to get down on the floor and play in a dress.
@@Mmmmkaaay would never wear a dress for christmas. My family plays nintendo wii or something else. It is not a party
I like any cashmere garment. The texture is divine to me.
@@alexandragatto Exactly
Finally someone say something about the dresses which are just covering as much as underwear… I can’t believe how popular it is to walk naked on the streets Thanks Anna!

I love velvet for the winter. That means I have to choose royal blue color. 💗 Thanks for the tip! 🥰
I love velvet, too. My favourite Christmas dress is a purple velvet dress.
I love velvet, especially for the holidays. I have a royal blue velvet blazer and it’s so elegant.
That's so elegant! Love blue velvet 💙
Actually wear the color that suits you and you feel good and confident in. You really don't need someone else to define what is classy. You being you is enough. "Classy" is an illusion.
I love deep BURGUNDY velvet !!!
The Nordic sweater is just fine for skiing, and any outdoor activity when the weather is cold.
I've just watched your latest video about speech, and I love it. Thank you Anna. I've watched many CZcams videos about clothes, makeup, hair, good posture, etc. but not so many videos about elegant speech out there, and you made it :)
I'm guilty of a deep bordeaux velvet dress... but that's fine, it goes well with my complexion and makes me feel great. Maybe next time I'll try more of a plum, as long as it's not "santa red" it can pass in my opinion.
plum sounds gorgeous
@@edennis8578 Yes ! They are very elegant and beautiful colors (EVERYWHERE).
I adore jeweltoned velvet! I don't think it's too santa-y.
I love the point about taking the holiday to elevate and dress your best, rather than settling for a humpty dump Xmas sweater... It's nice to feel comfy around your family, but it's even better to excite your spirit by looking your best; I forget sometimes, how much I love any opportunity to celebrate and dress up! I needed to hear this!! 💝
If it looks like a Kardashian would wear it, DON'T.
Good point
Basically lol
Bridget Jones Diary immediately sprung into my mind, when I saw the Christmas jumper 😄. ☃️🎄
Me, too! Loved the movie.
Test for a "cupcake" dress - if it looks like it would work for an ice-skating competition if it were just a little shorter, walk away! And although I agree holiday sweaters can be tacky, a cashmere or high quality merino wool Fair Isle sweater with detailing only on the neckline can be very elegant for afternoon parties, I think.
this is perfect! my prom dress was a fuller a line cut, but well structured and made out of a deep burgundy material. the only details it had were small floral embroidery on the pockets, and it was so much more elegant than the cupcake prom dresses
I still remember my roommate in college who went to great lengths to procure a well-fitted formal dress for a high class party, coming back ranting about the other students who showed up in jeans for looking so cheap and careless. I wasn’t at the party but her indignation still resonates with me.
I'm so glad you've spoken out about the split up past the hip! To me, it's not about the potential wardrobe malfunction, but it's like you're going up to every person at the party and saying "I'm not wearing any underwear." I don't need this information, and I don't want it 😆
I'm so glad you talked about the cupcake dress. I can't understand why is it so popular. When I had my graduation ball few years ago all the girls would want these dress, only in a long version. I've decided to go for elegant mature dress and it was the best decision.
Anna I love your energy! Our community-the one that you build is just amazing :) Your words and ideas always motivate me to keep going and to run that extra mile! I enjoy your clothing videos, they are helpful and funny at the same time. Can't wait for the next one! Stay happy and healthy, ladies ♡

That emerald green is lovely on you Anna! I definitely prefer more plain and elegant gowns like that because it definitely enhances your natural features plus it showcases the jewelry. Im a redhead and yes I do have green velvet dress but I can get away with it 😉
Thank you! The part about not wearing summer dresses. Every CZcamsr is talking about how you should.
Love the outfit ❤
Vivienne Westwood is using red and deep green in her collection and it looks elegant with an edge.
Agreed. Ditto Gucci and Jacquard. Anna doesn’t seem to know much about fashion.
She didn’t say nor to wear this colors. She said on Christmas Day. The rest of the year, it’s fine.
Anna, I found your youtube channel like around 5 days ago, but I'm already in love with what you are doing. Never information about such topics sounded so fresh and so interesting for me. Thank you a lot for your work!
I love this video all together, the editing, the pictures and your sense of humor 🙈😄
Patiently waiting on a “what to wear” video ☺️💗
Totally agree with the Christmas jumper point! I LOVE Christmas but I’ve never purchased a Christmas jumper. I don’t like spending money on a jumper I’ll wear so little and they feel cheap and rough on my skin personally. I love dressing up for Christmas in my best clothes!
Or those terrible cheesy Christmas earrings with santas or elves hanging off them!
@@ohsostylish60 those are actually fun though, especially when paired with single colors in rich satin or velvet etc.
@@ohsostylish60 haha I don’t have my ears pierced so I’ve never had to worry about these 😂
Love cheesy jumpers and pyjamas.....I but them from H and M and I don't care if I wear them only in Christmas season ......love the holiday joy it brings to me and my family
I wanted to hear another 10 outfits that elegant ladies never wear! I love this and agree with everything you mentioned. I feel that many of these mistakes are made when outfits are bought in a hurry and no thought is put into the outfit.
I appreciate how you struggle to get your point across w/o sounding patronising to anybody---Not an easy task I must say...But you certainly master it. IMO it would be helpful to put the "NO" and then show an example of the "YES". The LBD has been heavily misinterpreted by many of the so called new "fashion" trends and some ladies might be guessing, ok so what do I wear now? Thank you Anna!
I remember attending a party where it was crowded and some ppl were standing on couches at their section to get space and a better view of the surroundings. One girl had the high slit dress and stood on the couch and EVERYONE saw she wasnt wearing underwear!
Lol
I come to watch ur videos when I’m feeling down. They are all so funny and uplifting but honest
As soon as I saw the notification for this video I immediately thought of the Christmas jumper, I'm so glad you mentioned it. Why anyone would choose to wear this on one of the most important and pleasant days of the year is just perplexing to me!
I wore a red velvet dress on a date once and the man said I looked like a Christmas stocking 😂
Oh no
No need to take in his opinion , velvet is sa really good fabric and also looks elegant and expensive
He sounded quite rude. Not a gentleman!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 how did the date go
❤ You nailed it, Anna. Love this video! 🎉
Anna, I LOVE how sassy you are in this video while listing the "10 sins" no elegant lady should give into!! 😁
Much love to all our elegant queens!!
Anna, thank you for this video!
Would you share what we should wear in the holiday season?
I would love that too!
No she did not come for the velvet. I'm wearing a green velvet dress to a Christmas party 😆
I'm prob wearing a glitter/sequin dress & she came for that, too 😂😩 i did appreciate the info tho, I wanna wear something nice but not too revealing & she covered that.
I'm a muslim girl and don't wear shorts but seriously Anna! your suggestions always help me to elevate myself in a full dress. Stay Blessed you elegant lady. 🌸
Anna, you are always so spot on! Another thing to consider with the overly short, overly tight or super high slit dress is that everyone has a camera now. You could easily make it online with one of those wardrobe malfunctions without even realizing it ❤️
Anna, could you make a video about jewellery? I think that’s one of the topics I’d be more interested in your take.
Anna, can you please make a video about the essential shoes / boots elegant ladies should have? And one more about the jewellery;) Thank you very much for your wonderful and preciously informative videos!!! I’m so grateful to you! ♥️

Oh my word Kate Middleton rocked the most amazing sequins gown ever!
A cashmere sweater and wool or cotton slacks is fool proof for family gatherings, especially if there's young children and you need to get down to their level and play.
An elegant lady would probably not be on the floor with children.
Leave the tending of children to the nanny.
@@OnePulsar 😂
@@OnePulsar 😂😂😂
@@OnePulsar except not everyone can afford a nanny on christmas. And any sensible person that loves children will want to hang out with them. In my culture, taking care of kids wether you're a man or a woman is a huge sign of good character.

Luckily we used to have our office Christmas party/dinner on the U.K.s “Christmas jumper day”, so I’d wear one for warmth when travelling and arrive wearing it… Then I’d take it off and have a lovely dress underneath for the rest of the night 😉🥳🎉🎉
(And yes it’s sometimes a sequin dress, but I’m dressing for the pub with my office team, not for affluent circles) Anna amazing disclaimer on this vid, love how you worded it xxx🎀🎀🎀🎀
For point number 1: Not only the old generation, everyone. It is disrespectful and unpleasant to show much skin and specially your intimate parts in public to others.
Exactly.
I have a relative who shows cleavage at most family trips and gatherings. I always felt it being disrespectful to even her own dad or boyfriends father. Nobody cares of course but I’m sure Anna Bey would never and I like Anna Beys opinions lol
I like listening to your advices because it’s like coming from an older sister which I don’t have 😂 You’re one of the people that I look up to!

"OOPS - YER FLASHING YER CROTCH!" 🤣🤣🤣 I had to STOP the video to laugh hard!
Well, Anna you're amazing. Such a great start of my day with your beautiful video. And you look so stunning as always. NO disappointments again.. You're right. These were my thoughts too at some point. No doubt, that you're an elegant Diva. I'm following your guides and improved a lot in past 2 years and got many compliments so far. Hope you will make a content on " what elegant ladies would prefer at festive season" ❤😍 eagerly waiting ✋ 😀
I do not wear any of these EXCEPT for Fun Holiday sweaters. I. LOVE. THEM! They actually make me look sweet and optimistic, which is a quite classy energy on me. :) Because I am always classy otherwise the rest of the year, wearing holiday sweaters people still react to me with respect. (Dare I say more!)
I wear T-shirts/sweatshirts and jeans. I’m fully covered with nothing offensive. Problem solved.
Ouf, sorry, but I disagree that they make you look sweet and optomistic. I personally think that those sweaters only make people look one way - cheap, tacky, and childish.
Another great video from Anna. Right on point!
The emerald green dress and earrings are absolutely *stunning* on Anna.
i love the well made classic wool Scandinavian sweaters- they are ‘Christmas’ in a way, but classic (also expensive), but for relatively casual settings.
Totally agree - I just commented that I bought one that looks more classic Winter style. Not the gimmicky/funny Christmas kinds.
I do wear red and green at christmas. Actually all year because they look good on me but I advise shapes and fabrics that don't match Santa or his elf helpers. A nice silk blouse for example shouldn't be weird I think.
I DON’T CARE IF IT LOOKS CHEAP!! I **LOVE** ANYTHING SEQUINS!!! It makes me happy!!!
Hello Anna, would you consider making a video about what kind of gifts to get for our significant other and in-laws? :)
Just wanted to let you know Anna that I had just ordered green velvet pants right before this video came out and I have returned them! 🤗 good timing

Can you make a video about how to wear sequins and sparkly garments without looking cheap? I find myself drawn to those types of outfits and would love to know how I can make it work and still look elegant! :)
Trinny has some great content on it!
Some can look really pretty. I think she meant about the cheap ones where the glitter from the material rubs onto everything the dress touches. I have some classical sweaters that have a shine to them because of the metallic thread.
I would love to know too
I just realized how basic, how too casual and a little bit masculine I dress my self this year, i did not doing that earlier, but I think it is because I gained sone weight...so it would be great if you make a video about how to dress if we are little bit overweight, so we can look proper, feminine and not too bulcky
You look stunning in your dress and you look cheerful as well. Thank you such an inspiration Anna

Being a mountain girl here in California, jeans are the norm around here. My exception would be though is jeans that are flattering, no tears, and some dark in color. And also we wear sweaters a lot here. I try to keep it a solid color and very soft fabric including cashmere. I do have one sweater in fair isle design and it’s not bold and in a dark color
I’m a Smokey mountain girl and I’m the same way :D especially since it can get pretty cold over here
Here in Australia our Christmases are very often over the 40c mark. I've always recommended my girls to wear silks or cool linens, you cant go wrong with high end materials with a beautiful cut to them, plus they aren't cringeworthy in10 years time when you're looking back over family photographs
Thank you for your videos! Every woman or girls should see them!
