  • Our first youtube video ever!
    Just limewashed the exterior brick on the back of our house. We started with the back in case we messed it all up!
    Cool thing about this limewash is that is can be removed upto 2 days after application (I'd recommend a power washer). You can also touch up areas and it'll blend right in.

    Of all the videos I've watched, yours was the most approachable and informative. And the end result is exactly what I was looking to achieve. Thank you!

    Limewash is not toxic😂

      😂 sorry not toxic, but I’ve read it’s hazardous and can cause chemical burns if not washed off.

    I liked your video, but a fyi when you play music it's so loud I have to lower the volume, but when you speak I have to raise it back up. So I find myself annoyed because I'm constantly raising and lowering the volume. If you can please adjust the volume of music to be low and in the background. Or just don't have any music at all. Sorry I don't mean to be ugly, but I think if you were to fix that your video would be awesome.

    When you are spraying it with water, does it spread what you are washing off on the area around it and below? I was wondering if you found you had to rinse the deck and ground below also ?

    • @hackrestore7116
      @hackrestore7116  Před rokem

      It does fall onto the deck so I’d advise laying something on the ground to protect the deck.

    I have Chicago brick floors that were previously sealed. They are almost the same color as my kitchen cabinets as is. I want to lighten the brick floors and thought that white washing be a good idea; however was told that because the bricks were sealed, I could not do a traditional white wash. Any ideas of how I could get a white wash look on a sealed brick floor and it be durable?

    • @hackrestore7116
      @hackrestore7116  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey so sorry I missed this. You could limewash them and then seal them with something like 511 Impregnator sealer which can be used on stone. I’d test a small area first though b/c idk what they were originally sealed with. The good thing with limewash is that it’s not hard to remove within the first 24 hours of application

      Some areas I did, some I didn’t but that was intentional. Since I wanted a distressed look, I wasn’t going for perfect coverage

    What color is the siding??

    • @hackrestore7116
      @hackrestore7116  Před 2 lety

      It’s James Hardie Khaki Brown. The siding is Hardie board and comes in specific colors, but I know Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams both match the color.
