      Agreed. They have payload and towing and seats and other features for work but forgot the 6ft bed? They seem confused on who they are selling to. Daily driver/recreational truck=GM & Toyota. Work orientated=Nissan & Toyota 6ft. beds but the nod to the Nissan with the simpler engine.

    I like how we call mid-size trucks "little trucks." I pull up to an older Chevy 1500, or Ford F150 in my 2022 Frontier, and they're basically the same size. People be commuting to their office jobs and the grocery store in massive heavy duty trucks nowadays.

    I think society needs to get away from the throwaway and upgrade regularly mindset.
    A carryover engine is not a big deal. I'd rather have them support an engine for 20 years making small improvements over time, only making reliability better. (King quad, brute force, grizzly 🤔)
    Sadly people think old is boring and bad.
    And I get it, they want to make people want new. But the industry has a normal cycle. Rich get new every 2/3 years, middle gets mildly used and own for 5+ years. Poor pick up what works.
    And the whole income span gets something.

      I would drive manuals in the 90's because they were far superior to the autos of the time. But now, I don't see the point of a manual. The Autos have better fuel economy and usually have some sort of selecting a gear. They are also programmed great. I see these comments and don't understand why anyone would ask for this on a modern truck. Manufacturers are not going to add them if it makes up 10% of sales.

    Those grey panels from the sport appearance package do wonders for the front end, it just doesn't look right to me with one color over the whole front. I wish it still had a real steel front bumper like the previous one, though, the ones on my previous gen have saved my truck not once but twice when people hit my parked truck.
    I'll be interested to drive one of these new ones and see how the ride compares to my 2020 on Blistein 5100s, which were a huge upgrade and transformed the truck IMO, especially for towing.
    One thing that bugs me is seeing that those huge running boards are stock on the FX4. Even with a bit of front lift from the Bilsteins and slightly oversized tires, nobody's ever had an issue getting into my truck, not even my 5'7" 77 year old dad or a 5'1" female friend who's been in my truck a bunch, and those steps are just gonna get in the way off road.

    It's the tiny fuel tank that made me get rid of my 2021 Ranger. I upgraded to a 2022 2.7 with 36 gallon tank. It's been amazing towing our 6X12 tandem axle utv. It's around 4600 lbs. The towing range with a Rangers 18.8 gallon tank was just plain ridiculous

    Hey Steven, great video as always. One correction. You no longer have to take and input any measurements when you set up pro trailer backup assist. Just set the sticker down, the truck uses AI to figure out the rest. And while I'm at it GM towing stickers are no longer VIN specific they have not been for over a year now.

    • @TruckKing
      @TruckKing  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks. I asked a Ford rep about Pro Trailer system setup for Ranger and was told you still needed to input the measurements. No excuse though, I should have verified. It's now a simple calibration procedure done by executing some tight turns.
      As for the GM towing information sticker, it still states the VIN on it for 2024 models (I checked our 24' 3500 HD and a 23' GMC Sierra) and the payload perfectly matches what is on the door jamb sticker. So I'm not sure what you mean on that one.

      @dre469 Před 5 měsíci

      @@TruckKing Thanks for the reply. I could be totally wrong about GM. I've been watching a bunch of videos about GM trucks over the last year and I've seen it (Andre) repeatedly said that GM have changed the towing sticker from being VIN specific to now state the max that the trim level can tow. The individual now has to work out their specific truck max towing.

    Lot's of bean counter cost cutting, no rear vents or 3 zone temp control, cheap bench rear seat with no split for storage with a passenger, would be a perfect platform for the flat floor and split fold like an f150, the off the shelf tailgate assist, some cheap looking plastics on the interior especially the center console area and knobs, no convex mirror because you can't have it with bliss? Just not as nice as I had hoped for, especially for over 50k on the lariat.

    For the third year running, Ford has issued more recalls in a calendar year than any other US automaker. As reported by Automotive News, partial NHTSA data reveals that Ford issued 54 recalls in 2023, affecting almost 5.7 million vehicles. This represents a 21% decrease from last year. In 2022, Ford issued 65 recalls affecting over 8.6 million vehicles, so things are certainly improving.
