    I think of white, silver, gold, and blue for Christmas colors. I think they match the colder weather (for those who experience it) much more elegantly than the garish red and green.

    The soap is just beautiful!!! The colors are perfect for the Christmas season. Sometimes I love the colors of nature and go for a natural theme at Christmas. Other times I love the traditional red and green and lots of plaid. Sometimes it's all about the glitz, the more silver and gold the better! But I also love the soft pastels, the pinks, blues and soft whites. I guess I just love color! Thanks for sharing your soap with us, I always enjoy your videos! Also love the music, I love Christmas and my daughter and I actually listen to Christmas music all year long so I love when I start hearing the music on videos! Judy

    I think of snow white and the greens of all evergreen type trees. I live in the Rockies of Colorado so that is what I think of. Love these colors. Just did a white, silver and silvery blue soap today. How ironic. Love those snowflakes :)

    It is cold during Christmas here in the USA state of Texas(North) our altitude is around 3000 ft. It snowed 6" just last week. I love the snow so I like my decor to be this also.

      LOL 😆- no cooking Christmas dinners in our family - Maybe a BBQ breakfast and then cold meats and salad for dinner in air-conditioning! I used to miss cold Christmases but its been a long time now so am finally used to warm ones.

      Haha we do the full cooked lunch and dinner at my sister in laws place-it gets soooo hot,no air con either haha. Here in Tassie we don’t cop it as bad as you guys but some days are brutal specially when it’s 43 degrees. How long have you guys been in Aus? I would love to visit London but it would have to be in summer haha 😆

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea Před 5 lety

      I couldn't cope with out the air con! I must admit, last year was the first hot Christmas for a few years - its been surprising cool before then with rain most years. My parents and I moved to Australia over 28yrs ago but I did go back about 15yrs ago for a couple of years to work and visit family. London is really pretty around Christmas time with all the decorations etc and as everywhere has heating, it's not that bad

    How long do you let the loaf cure before taking it out of the silicon mold. I keep getting ash if I take it out before 48 hrs.....I do not want to have to buy that many silicone mold......any advice?

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea Před 5 lety

      It depends on my recipe. Most I leave for 18-24 hours but the ones higher in olive oil I leave for about 48 hours due to them being soft. I've not had soda ash develop on the sides of soaps after unmoulding. From my experience soda ash only forms during saponification so perhaps the soap is not fully saponified when unmoulded.

    • @jillianmathis2552
      @jillianmathis2552 Před 5 lety +1

      heather burrell spray top with light mist of rubbing alcohol. That stops soda ash. I have been making soap for a little over 30 years. Hugs

  • @valentinamartinezrodriguez1416

    Hi, can you explain me please What did you do so that the glycerin above doesn't sweat?

  • @franceslock1662
    @franceslock1662 Před 5 lety

    The blue snowflake can serve as a six pointed star with menorahs for Chanukah. All you can get in the shops is Christmas decorations, no Diwali, no Chanukah etc. yet these festivals all occur around this time. Christmas decorations are affordable and readily available which is great but how about including other cultures.

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea Před 5 lety

      Yes this is all very true. There are so many different celebrations around the world at this time of year

    • @franceslock1662
      @franceslock1662 Před 5 lety

      @@SoyandShea I hope I didn't sound negative. I had just been to the shops and was overwhelmed with all the Christmas decorations everywhere while I educate lots of Indian children all celebrating Diwali late at night because they don't get a public holiday here and I can't find a single affordable Chanukah decoration so I improvise with a Christmas snowflake. Thanks for your kind response.

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea Před 5 lety

      @@franceslock1662 - No you don't sound negative at all. It is so true that many of the other celebrations are forgotten at this time of year and it is a shame as we can all learn so much from each other and our cultures.
