The reboot Optimus has always had detailing on his faceplate. Just look at the opening scene of Bumblebee when he say "Fall back!" There's etched detailing all over it.
Of course ROTB continues the detailed faceplate thing as can be seen in the trailer, namely in the "Let them come" bit at the end.
Honestly i prefer when the faceplate has no detail on it. It feels more practical somehow
honestly if this mainline version is THIS good, i hope the Studio Series version won't be messed up.
Studio will just be a retool of BB Movie Prime. So it’ll be bigger, but not an all original mold like this one… which is part of why he’s fun. He’s much more simple than a lot of movieverse Primes, and people, including me, love that.
@@SamanthaS92 Hasbro announced the ss ROTB Optimus and I’m pretty sure they said they retooled the bb movie mold so much it’s practically its own figure
@@fegreninja7197 well, as I said it’s a retool… but some retools can be pretty comprehensive. Take Metalhawk or Devcon. Maybe it will be really good. Only time will tell. Still waiting on seeing a Studio Wheeljack and a mainline deluxe Arcee.

Since this figure is smaller than the average Prime, I would like to see an orange repaint/remold into Huffer.
Just remember this isn't Studio Series. The SS will be a full sized voyager as they will be using SS38 as a basis for the new RotB SS OP.
And sadly a target exclusive

Defintely my favourite Rise of the Beasts Mainline figure so far. It surprised me for sure and it looks incredible.
I think its great that like every other single transformers figure i have the voyager class Optimus Prime weapon fits perfectly

This figure looks really fun to handle but I definitely see myself taking a Gundam marker to it and panel lining him to break up the grey a bit.
I love how Hopper keeps interrupting balt. He does this so often it's kinda a channel highlight
What I noticed during the vehicle comparisons is just how good the SS05 truck is, like damn, maybe that's why that's the mold they used for Premium Finish

I got this figure for my 11th bday and its good lost the hip pieces where the front wheels are supposed to peg in but its no big deal.

Interesting to see a review that paints this figure in a positive light. I've seen a lot of complaints about the proportions, paint (or more accurately, the lack there of), and the hollow bits that say that this figure is a disappointment for the $40 price tag, and should be half that.

They did plan to put rub signs on the new figures but was abandoned because of it being a child toy.
One thing this has over the bumblebee movie Optimus Prime is that the legs don't come apart with the slightest provocation and I own two examples one I scored a resale shop for $15 because why the hell not and just like the one I bought new the legs also come apart

It's kinda nice that after years of just Studio Series and the cheaper, gimmicky kids toys we're actually getting decent mainline movie toys again.
That's not knocking Studio Series or even some of the more kid focused stuff, but you know what I mean.

The ROTB mainline has different scaling than Studio Series, that's why SS 100 Bumblebee is almost as big as mainline ROTB Optimus. He'd most likely scale better with mainline ROTB Bumblebee.
This figure, a little taller, with more paint apps and a few more transformations steps will make the perfect figure
I love the figure well but the cat part was just the best lol 🤣 I just recently got mine rise of the beasts version of crime a couple days ago like I said I love the figure it's pretty good best

The smoke stacks are tight enough in bot mode that they don't bother me. I'm just clumsy. And i know this is going to sound weird but I never even notice the forearm parts. Maybe I've just gotten used to forearm kibble?

Hey Balt, at about the 11:50 mark you used the word "Jipped" which is actually a pretty offensive term to the Romani (otherwise known as gypsy) people, as it's a variation of the term "Gypped." I didn't know this myself until a month or so ago when my partner brought it up to me.
Though I do agree, the price point of the figure is pretty rough.

Can somebody explain to me the ROTB mainline/SS situation? The mainline Airazor and Cheetor are totally different from the SS/movie looks as if they were designed for a cartoon or mobile game while the mainline Bumblebee is WAY bigger than his SS counterpart, now we got this almost deluxe size OP...what is going on here?

Yeah, no. Not buying a Deluxe in disguise when it's a bayformer and I already have the superior WFCE and Legacy G2 OPs, not to mention literally twenty older Optimus Primes, and ES Warrior OP and SS Gamer OP (or as I call them, Orion Banner and Optimus Hulk) due to ship like, tomorrow.
Hopper just wants to help or he wants pets either or he deserves it.

the transformations is pretty cool but he is just too small for the price point. i found him today at Walmart but passed on him. he looks a bit dull in the paint department and his head looks like he messed with the witch doctor from Beetlejuice. so far all of these "main line" figures from RotB are an easy pass for me. i will wait for the Studio Series versions. still a great review though =)

just fyi man it's a good idea to avoid using the word "gypped" like that-- not a lot of people know this, but it has weird anti-romani origins. May not seem like a big dela to us in America, but romani people in europe gotta put up with a lot of racist bullshit. IDK if anyone watching this is going to be offended or offput, probably not since it's relatively obscure, but I try and people know whenever it pops up just in case
