    Hey Jackson, Great interview! We need more Bob stories. More behind the scenes footage please, maybe with you and Howard demoing the arsenal.

    I remember the Long Island guitar show well. I have three archtops now - ES175, Moll custom, and a 1947 Epi Triumph (highly reworked).

    enjoyed this interview. But would have enjoyed an extended discussion of x versus parallel braced archtops. Seems like a lot of the blue guitars are x-braced?

    • @jazzguitarjackson
      @jazzguitarjackson Před rokem +1

      Hey, Paolo! The short answer is that parallel bracing favors punch and projection (think big band or swing rhythm playing) while x-bracing provides a wider more complex response that favors chord melody, solo, or fingerstyle playing.

    • @faisletoismeme
      @faisletoismeme Před rokem +1

      From Bob's book, i was able to build two for myself. One with X and the second one with parallel. Of course it cannot count for any kind of expertise but the X braced one has a more mellow sound and the parallel sound more like an acoustic quitar (more highs and bit more projection). My next ones will be X braced but both sound better than the ES-175 I had before.
