During my last day in Varanasi we went on an all out Scrumptious Indian Street Food tour trying all of Varanasi's famous dishes.
We started the day by visiting one of the ghats for sunrise. It was extremely peaceful and spiritual experience, a must when in Varanasi.
Our first stop on our Indian Food Tour was Malai. This is like a creamy milk, yogurt, whipping cream. It's sweet and delicious!
Stop number 2 was Puri Kachori, potatoes, tomato and a few more vegetable dish. You use a bread to eat it and it is a breakfast dish. We also had Jalebi a fried dough which is dipped in condensed sugar. To refresh our pallet we tried some Paan!
We took a quick food break and headed to Sarnath, the birthplace of Buddhism. The deer park in Sarnath is where Gautama Buddha first taught the Dhamma, and where the Buddhist Sangha came into existence through the enlightenment of Kondanna.
We headed back to Varanasi to end our Indian Street Food tour. We stopped at Deena Chat shop to try four dishes, Golgappas, Aloo Tikki, Tomato Chaat and Chura Matar. They were all so good, but my favorite was Chura Matar!
I hope you loved this Indian Street Food tour of Varanasi, and side trip to Sarnath! If you liked the video please give me a thumbs up, comment below and subscribe to my channel!

Indian street food is da bombđŁđ„ Anyway, keep up the good work and enjoy India. It gets under your skin and you want go back again and again!! Trust me i knowđđŒ

one special thing about india. notice no plastic disposables are used as much as possible. the cups are made of clay. the bowls and plates from pressed leaves, wooden or bamboo spoons. tons of non biodegradable wastes saved.
Biswajit Deka yes, we should promote n use it more... It also gives a nice aroma to the dish, specially kullad wali chai. Going back to the roots is the right way to save our environment n maintain good health.
biswajit deka yes ur 100% correct but the south India doesn't have this type....the south Indians use all plastic items and plastic covers when the whole India will become free from plastic ? nice video bro nice food items i loved it
Biswajit Deka it's a good idea
lol you must be living under a rock. Most of the food/tea is given in plastic. Maybe in Varanasi it is different @ some places. But India is the 2nd largest producer of solid waste...
@Matt Enriquez đđđđyes!! U r right!! But all that is changing fast as our government is focusing a lot on sanitation!!, hope it will change soon!!

Davidsbeenhere that red paan is not good for you. you must not eat that paan. you should opt for a meetha paan its much more better. the red paan rots teeth and is addictive.
Davidsbeenhere only 20 videos bro?I want to see more of the indian videos.
Sarthak a single Paan is not going to rott David's teeth... He won't get it in USA...
The fire paan you had was without tobacco may be in this video you ate one with tobacco

This dude's confidence made me skeptical about my grammar.
me?
No the tour guide who was telling all these antiquities about Buddha. You on the other hand , I really appreciate you understanding what real India is , not the fabricated version of Foreign media and I really suggest you to visit some urban places her too , you'll be blown away.

Hy there!! Indian punjabi and bengali cuisine is the best in asia!! Do try it!!
Why i watching this in lockdown, my mouth is watering...đđ
This guy really loves Indian food!!!!u can really tell from the way he eats it and all.
Wrong info about 15:01 gol gappa (panipuri) you never swallow it like snake you have to put a piece in mouth in one go then you can chew it normally. But caution over eating gol gappa can affect foreigners digestion because the water is rich in spices (if you are not used to it)
Do plan a visit to South India too,David!
Bangalore , Mangalore, Hyderabad.
Awesome video !
I am new to this channel and i am already loving it
Love you David..India đźđł lives in you..

Great video David, at approx 17:00 the guide says Emperor Ashoka during the Mugal Dynasty, should have said Mayuri Dynasty.

Hay bro, your blogs are awesome. Like yr videos....good luck
just awsm as other videos...ya man see u in jaipurđ
that is the next few videos ;) JAIPUR :))))
Wrong info on Paan...
You dont need to spit the normal sweet paan...it is the paan which contains tobbacco which you need to spit as you keep on chewing it...the normal sweet paan you can chew and finish it swallowing in a minute or so...
Hussain Piplodwala correct... Haha
thanks for your input. I will know for next time!
Yes.Paan is very good after lunch or dinner for digestion..but the spitting one is Tobacco filled one..
Davidsbeenhere you're welcome...really enjoy watching your videos...:)
Hussain Piplodwala u gave wrong info about paan. U have to spilt the sweet paan too beacause it contains chunna which is liquid form of calacium carbonate and kathaa too. Swallowing that is not good for health.
Staying on a focus journey were fantastic to see there....

Completely random, but I first found you by watching the series you did in Portland, ME. Long story short, you should go back there July 6-8 and hangout with my gf and I haha. We loved the places you went to and I think you could probably do another video there checking out some new spots. Anyways, travel on brotha.
this is the most informative series about india on youtube. thanx david for planning your tour of everycity with guides.
Nice one, I loved the eating part mostly.
I'm going to india in few weeks can't wait!!! How is the weather so far?
deziking it's will very hot in summer so come as early as possible before summer
September to March is fine for India tour. From march onwards you can't handle hot climate. But middle east, south asuan and south east asian nationals can travel all months because of their adaptability in our climate.I doubt yoh are European.
Well you should wait because it's going to be balls hot by next month...better come in Summers in November to February
Fuck man, Hey I like this cold weather and all but damn how hot does it get during the day? over 100F? Shit you can't do anything during the day then? Coming from chicago btw ;)
deziking March will be ok but from April to September is like living in Sahara you should go to Manali, Shimla, leh ladakh etc in Summers..it's always pleasant there
Hey I am also live in varansi your video is fabulous..........#######
Are you enjoying in india?
Be safe and eat safe bro
Keep it up!!! Make a video on top indian favourite foods itemsđđ»
In 48yrs old,true good honesty guide tour..x

Hi, I'm here the big fan of your channel. The way you are exploring the typical street food, it's literally awesome.Plz, I'm requesting you to come to Odisha and test Dahibara Alludum and bhuguni, Mutton kasha and rice,Sallepur mitha(Sweet), Gupchup or Golgoppa and Chatt and Dhokai puri.Plz dear, visit Odisha. The place Odisha, near to Kolkata only in India. In Odisha, some places are famous for their spacial authentic tasty food. Those are Chilika, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Balasore. And there are lots of historical spiritual tourist places, you must visit there. Those are Puri Temple, Konark Mandir(Known as Black Pogard) and Udaya Giri and Khandagiri Caves and many more places.
@David, Jalebis are like funnel cakes but sweetened with sugar syrup instead of powdered.
Buddha first learned in INDIAđźđł, First tought in INDIAđźđł, and also died for heaven in Kushinagar INDIAđźđł where Buddha was buried !
Buddhism were destroyed by hindus and muslim in akhand vharat.buddhist monk were killed by hindus kings.....
Gaurav Do u even know what he taught? Im buddhist and let me correct you đ. The birthplace of Buddha is Lumbini, Kapilbastu which is located in Nepal and he didnt die, he achieved Nirvana and yes he visited not only India but most of ths Asian countries. I dont get why Indians try to make up this story that Buddha was born in India. The guide in this video refers to Buddha as God when Buddha himself said that he was just a human
Hey David! when will you be in Jaipur....hope to meet up with ya my friend.
Loved the fan video, not sure I'd be brave enough to do the bike ride though. You are a very brave lad. I hope your wife doesn't see it, my other half would ban me from anymore vlogs if I did it. Thanks for a great trip to India. Very inspiring.
Andrew Prior whatâs so brave about sitting on a bike ?
Harsh Menda I canât even get on a childrenâs ride at Disney land let alone on the back of a bike. The people that ride motorbikes around cities like that amaze me. I could never do it :)
In Delhi we call it (fresh milk cream)
Daulat k chaat
Gautam budhha was born in Nepal at Lumbini not in Varanasi
