    I remember the discussion about the awning at the campfire Saturday night. I appreciate you getting it on video because I couldn’t picture what y’all were doing.

    The side shelf being higher is awesome. Hopefully when my turn comes up we can get Hiker to put in two different heights! 👍🏻🤞🏻
    Also the open shelving is great! The lack of storage on the inside has is a little concerned, but seeing those opened up is pretty cool!
    Can’t wait for our turn!! Love all of the videos Matt!! Thanks.

      it depends on how tall you are . For some this is great for others more challenge not so much. I do says it appears they tied the shelf into the interior shelf and that might be why they picked that height.

    Matt, great mod on the awning. 23 zero is not available from Hiker right now and we just ordered this awning. We will be picking up our Hiker four weeks from yesterday.

      Product has been hard to come by with Covid so I am assuming their awning selection with be changing depending on what they can get.

    Love the videos. I have never slept in a teardrop and am weary of not being able to stand up or how to deal with dirty shoes getting in and out. Can you share a video of how you move in and out of your Hiker and maybe what it is like to do things inside, like getting dressed, etc.?

      That is one of the biggest complaints we hear about these smaller trailers. Do you see this video:czcams.com/video/c6A_-uc0fuE/video.html They found a solution to that problem.

    I really love most everything about these Hiker trailers but just can’t get around how much I hate the galley’s lack of kitchen. And I don’t think I could even modify it to make it work. There are many others out there with better galley kitchen configurations.

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  Před 3 lety +5

      You are correct that the kitchen isn't built into the galley. For us the amount of storage we gained with this lay out was worth setting our kitchen up on the side table and using the picnic table. When it comes to small trailers, storage becomes a big issues.

    • @lovllayahoo
      @lovllayahoo Před 2 lety

      I would Recommend renting an actual teardrop with a built-in galley and see the difference. I just rented a T@G and thought galley storage was very limiting. I like the idea of the extra storage in the hiker but I have yet to use one.

    • @markjensen663
      @markjensen663 Před 2 lety +1

      @@lovllayahoo I have a large SUV. With seats down I have tons of storage. Also my roof box on the trailer for more. When I am on a two week road trip across country I am often in a different camping spot every night. To have setup and tear down a big outdoor kitchen every day is not practical. Being able to close and go is where it’s at for me. I am more of a minimalistic camper.

    What is the difference between your trailer and the off road trailer?

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  Před 3 lety +2

      This trailer is a mid range. The off road has a different suspension and bigger wheels and is made for more extreme off roading adventures. The mid range can handle two tracks and back roads, but not extreme conditions. Here is a link to Hiker's website for more detailed differences:www.hikertrailers.com/hikers

    What is the overall height under the awning? I'm 6'4" and wonder if I'll be hunched under the awning.

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  Před 3 lety +1

      I am 5'8" so I do not have to hunch under the awning. For the Mid Range, if you are over 6', you probably would have to. The Off Road has bigger tires, so the awning ends up being higher.

    Whats the price of these like this? Is it hard to get AC?

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  Před 3 lety +2

      You can to to Hikertrailers.com and get a quote right on the page to see how much one with your options would cost. Most start around $10,000 and go up based on the additions. They currently have a roof top AC option, but are looking into other options. The climate right AC unit that they used to sell is not longer being produced.
