    I have same 2022 gray one. Good idea on the vinyl to not scratch the paint. Not a fan of the windshield though, looks like it limits what you can attach to handlebars . I have a rack and food bag for eats/doordash.

    I bought a brand new 2020 Ruckus last March for 3100 bucks cash out the door. I've already put 4600 miles on it without a single problem. I change my oil earlier than is required. Usually between 500-700 miles. I also change my rear final drive gear oil every 1000-1500 miles. I added the rear rack from CycleRacks along with a 38 dollar craftsman versastack 17" lockable toolbox from lowes because my helmet fits inside. I also have the same chase harper under seat bag and I added a metal wire basket to the front from bed bath and beyond. After a put 4000 miles on it I changed the drive belt even though it still had plenty of life left and would have likely lasted another 3000+ miles. At the same time I bought several Dr Pulley roller weights for the variator and eventually settled on the 6 gram rollers because they made the bike faster starting off and I was still able to get up to 42 or 43 mph on the flat roads. Pretty soon I'm going to try the Dr. Pulley sliders and from what I've heard you generally want to use 1 gram heavier than your choice of rollers so I ordered the 7 gram sliders and a 6.5 gram just in case they seemed better.

      I was talking about this about 20 mins ago on my camera for a next video lol I have to look into the final drive gear oil part though! These things are built to last if you take care of them. Do you do long distance travels or a commuter?

    • @Prepare2Survive
      @Prepare2Survive Před 2 lety +1

      @@gizzabem I do both. My daily ride is 12 miles which I sometimes do more than once per day and on the weekends from April to the end of November I ride 52 miles each day. I live in Connecticut where registration and insurance isn't needed for 49cc mopeds. I still rode during the cold winter as long as there wasn't ice or snow on the roads. When it's under 60 degrees I have to wear my fleece lined pants and when it's under 40 degrees I have to add a pair of insulated overalls on top of that. The main areas that get cold are my neck, hands and feet so I wear insulated gloves, boots and a neck gator. I also wear a rain jacket as an exterior layer because it blocks the wind the best. That rear gear oil is easy to change. You just have to remove one bolt and then use a syringe and small diameter tube to suck out the gear oil and then use it to pump in the new gear oil. Having the shop service manual helps because it lists the torque specs for all the bolts. The syringe and tube I ordered from amazon for a couple bucks.

    Well brother I really dig your modifications that windshield would be ideal for me as I plan on riding my 2017 Honda ruckus back-and-forth to work (3rd. shift)12 miles each way to work 2-3 times a week to save$$$ on gas.These bikes are not very comfortable to ride long distances for big riders like myself,,,I’m 5”10 and 314 pounds so I’m going to have to get the NCY (I believe they’re called)aluminum seat brackets that move the seat back however they also move the seat up so I’ll have to buy one of their seat lowering frames also to make it turn out right I guess and then I’ll probably get an inflatable seat cushion from steady garage and quite possibly a rear metal rack from steady garage also.I’ve been looking at Chase Harper stuff also I like the bags that you have there and I’m also interested in their saddlebags they offer for the ruckus👍

I wound up getting a Lance Cali Classic 125 for just under $3000 cash OTD. It's a cool looking scooter, has a ton of storage under the seat, goes 15 mph faster than the Ruckus, and can carry 300 pounds. Remove center stand for a lighter kick stand, replace battery for a lighter one. Get a CDI put in last. All of these will help with gains. Air box delete, changing jets, and exhaust is a ton of work for not much gain. Also if it isn’t a Yoshi or Two brothers exhaust for the ruckus it probably won’t give you any gain. I bought a ruckus with its air box already deleted, I love it, but it was a pain to tune. Just my humble opinion

      There's a lot of uhs because its challenging to get the whole presentation skill down. I've watched a few youtubers grow and some of the best ones start out like that. Takes a lot of confidence to put yourself out there and I'd much rather watch the process unfold keeping it real showing the struggle rather than over acting. It helps the rest of us on our journeys too.

      I thought it was a great video! I didn't even notice any "uh's".
