हिंदू-मुसलमान की राजनीति का अभी तक हमने आपको आदर्श रूप दिखाया है. लेकिन तीसरे चरण के रण से पहले इसका एक ऐसा रूप भी दिखा, जो भारतीय सामाजिक व्यवस्था को ही ध्वस्त कर सकता है. ध्रुवीकरण के लिए राजनीति दलों के नेता इस हद तक पहुंच गए कि, उन्होंने सीधे-सीधे मुसलमानों को एकजुट होकर बीजेपी के खिलाफ वोट डालने की अपील तक कर डाली और इसकी शुरुआत बीजेपी नहीं की, बल्कि कांग्रेस ने की.
