- I took two trips to Yosemite National Park, winter 2020 before the lockdown. I ended up capturing some of my favorite landscape photography all with the 100-400 telephoto lens.
B-roll video clips by my good friend and talented filmmaker Joe Pierce check him out here. / joe.pierce

Nice - Lookin forward to this man!
Thanks Mark, hope you enjoy the images :)
Yeap:)
Came for the 100-400 discussion.
Left crying from those photos.
So it’s not just me… aching beauty.
same for me! My wife and I watched this and blowed away.
Let me know which image from the video you enjoyed the most :)
They are all beautiful. I think the one that sticks out for me and I'm not totally sure why is the vertical image with the reddish rock face on the left with the shadow of the mountain on the right with the tree. For some reason that tree grabbed my attention.
All of the above ;)
Of all photographers I follow , you are the master of finding compositions, you see things other don’t.
Tree image is awesome.
Image on 8:10 mark. Just Brilliant 😍
The rainbow waterfall shot is soooo beautiful omg
Absolutely captivating. Amazing work as always, Michael.
You inspire me so much Micheal.... you have no idea how much you and your creativity heal my heart♥️
Stunning, love the more intimate images that telephotos give, beautifully detailed and interesting. Superb.
Absolutely love this video! Very cool to hear someone talk in depth with one lens and show some real world hand on stuff!
Gorgeous images, thanks for sharing Michael!
Loved the one with the three ridges in the snow, truly beautiful.
Literally jaw dropping. The bookends to this video were fantastic.

Every shot is awesome. This is inspiring piece of work. Looking forward for more videos like this.
It is such a beautiful place. Some of the best landscape photographs I have seen till now.
Words can’t describe how incredible this video is, Michael! Images are truly breathtaking and the story telling makes them even better. Next year I am 1000% going to Yosemite to explore 😍 thanks for the inspiration.
Stunning stuff Michael. You definitely captured some unique perspectives using the 100 - 400 lens. Love Yosemite; such a diverse place to shoot.
Spectacular! The lone tree with they key light makes me go, wow! Nicely timed!
Loved them all. Excellent job. Gorgeous photos with great creativity on what to focus on. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful shots! Amazing! Love the waterfall shot at 7:02
Thank you for the perspective - I found it quite inspirational - I was struggling with the landscape genre and now I have a new take on it.
Just when you think you've seen it all. You come across these mind blowing images, that really captivate you. Amazing work Michael. You've just convinced me that i really need to see landscape shots in a different and more varied way, capturing tighter scenes that can be so much more dramatic, when approaced with a bigger Zoom.
Never seen a photography video packed with this many top tier shots, it's literally unbelievable
Great vid. Loved the unique shots of Yosemite. The fog shots were incredible.

@Michael as always you rocks 😍😍. Excellent explanation to unique portfolio.
Great video of some incredible shots. Nice to see different perspectives of such a beautiful place.
Thank you so much for this videos. It’s pure awe inspiring and I’m crying watching these sceneries and images.
We in Italy lost the winter and we’ll also lose the spring due to the country being in the third lockdown. I had many plans to live the outdoor and do landscape photography from October onward with travel plans to the Dolomites, Scotland, Switzerland and other location in Italy. I know there are more important things right now but being constrained to a room and chair since November is starting to fell like my life is being sucked away. I wake up, sit in from if the Pc, eat, sleep and start again with a new anxious day. Thank you for this breathtaking digital travel.
Just beautiful!!! Michael I love your point of view!!
Absolutely beautiful, and many thanks for the new ideas about approaching a new place. Can’t wait to go to Yosemite while I live 1 hour from the park entrance.
Stunning photos - all of them!
Awesome images Michael, love the intimate details, having been to Yosemite the grand landscapes are epic, but what you have captured is just magical 💜
Some of these photos look like they came out of a fairy tale
Thanks so much!
4;43 luv these types of shots. 7: 53 great colours. Interesting and enjoyable video Michael.
These superb teleshots are the reason why i carrying my 100-400 all the time with me. Many greetings from germany.
Great work with our 100-400, Michael. Perfect example of how landscape shooters can find new, unique perspectives with a variety of longer focal lengths.
We are heading to Yosemite in September '24 and can't wait. Thank you for the beautiful pictures and for thinking outside the box!
Very nice pictures, as always.
And wonderful winter weather.
The photo at 7:40 is just incredible. It seems so rare to find interesting subjects that can be lit with such deep contrast like that.
Stunning images from Yosemite, probably the most interesting ones I've seen from here!
Epic Michael...love every single shot you took 🔥
amazing video Michael! Love watching your vision!
I usually don't post public coments on the internet but I had to say something. The photos are amazing. The hole video looks fantastic. Had to see it 3 times. Congratulations to you and Joe Pierce. Can't wait for what's to come
These photos are so beautiful - Yosemite and Milford Sound as well.
Fantastic video and images brother. Looking forward for more awesome videos like this
Some of your best shots so far I think, stunning!
Stunning photography, I like the black surround, its like a 3D impression of actually looking through the lens.
Greetings from across the bay. Man, I miss Yosemite! I used to take day trips there during winter or spring breaks. Thanks for bringing me along on your trip. I loved all your images. Very creative. I can’t wait to get back there.
Amazing images!!! Thank you for sharing. Yes, I enjoyed this very much. I'm so glad Gavin Hardcastle had you in his videos and recommended we follow you.
You have inspired me. Keep up the excellent work, so that your work can inspire.
These are landscape shots I aspire to create. Beautiful work 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great way to illustrate that you don’t have to shoot the iconic shots from the iconic viewpoints. Well Done!!
Mike is like the smooth jazz of landscape photography. Epic my dude! EPIC!
I too, thought this was going to be a collection of "How many times must I look at the same old images of YNP?"
You've done a great job of inspiring me, with this video, to go back into Zion (40 minutes from the house) and see it in another way.
I love the Sigma 100-400.
You could not ask for better winter conditions and you captured some awesome shots!
Amazing pictures! :) You're a master!
Wonderful imagery, as always!
Just stunning!
Go to a place without any preconceived notion. Spot on Michael. Beautiful video. I felt like making a day trip while watching your video
Breathtaking. Thanks for sharing.
These are absolutely beautiful images!!!!
Gee, so many great photos, like always. But I was wowed by the falls, especially that one w/ the mist as prism, along w/ the others around that one. Did love the shot w/ the light hitting the tree you could see between those massive blue rocks in shadow. Also loved the last shots, 3 or 4. I just never come away from your shoots not liking at least 75%, or more! Also love the focus you've had lately w/ the 100-400, it's like a different trajectory and absolutely agree w/ you.
Bloody Hell, you are good. Thank you for sharing. You inspire us all😊
Love the close-ups Michael👍
One of my favorite videos now
Great video Michael! The 100-400 is such an amazing focal length... since I got one it's been glued to my camera at least half the time I go anywhere. Stunning Yosemite shots!
You're so talented! I live just outside Zion National Park and winter is definitely the time to visit!!!
Beautiful shots Michael and a beautiful place. My one and only trip there was in the mid. 70s love to go back one day.
It's so breathtaking I am without words. I'll be there May 11th. After seeing your beautiful winter images I wish I could be there now, it's February.
My favorite image is the half dome. Just spectacular. I hope to go there someday.
Absolutely gorgeous!
Loved these images so much I had to watch twice!
These are just so beautiful and stunning. Really evokes emotions
Stunning!
I've been loving all of your videos, but I have to say that I swore out loud multiple times seeing your shots and your video clips here. Really arresting work mate, fabulous.

Wow beautiful shots Michael
Very well done and well said . totally awesome images . Kudos .
I truly do look forward to your videos. Probably doesn't mean much coming from an amateur English photographer, but I do believe you have the best photography chanel on YT.
Thank you so much for the work you share.
wow...breath taking
As usual fantastic work 👍🏻
Love the two tone water shot!
A stunning selection of photographs and an informative video.
Amazing vid.... It's hard for me to pick a favorite as they are all stunning. Thanks for sharing
Really like the way you teach us that the famous shot we see all the time might not be the ultimate shot. Get out there and find your version. I have been into that concept for a while now. Great vlog. Cheers, Michael.
Fantastic photos dude! Congrats!!
I visited Yosemite in April of 2017. I was so enamored with the huge vistas, I missed the opportunity to close in on the beauty with telephoto lenses as you did. I'm kicking myself right now, and I hope I can visit again take your photographic wisdom with me! Thank you! Subscribed!!!
Your blogs getting better and better 👌👌
Well done my friend well done... 👏 👏 👏
So beautiful - thank you for sharing
Thanks Michael. Beautiful shots and helpful commentary. I took landscape photos with my 100-400 Canon lens last fall. I realized how versatile the lens is. Was a bit heavy to hike far though.
