    I recently bought an opel rekord 3800 V6 .I have a problem irs otomatic when I put in drive and try to full off it cyrs out and there is a hamimg noise created thruogh out the system and I open the bonet at the amount jacking I get on the belt tensioner is hug. .e .
    Its almost like it locks then the car is fine and unlocks and the whole motor jaking .
    What can I do .
    Belt is old cracked but intact could this be the problem

    This is about a new gates serpentine belt.
    New serpentine belts are way tighter than old because the new one has plenty of material and has not yet been stretched. This makes the installation process for the newer/tighter belt difficult to impossible, even with the tensioner cranked to maximum loosness.
    Can you please share some pro-tricks to get the belt on when faced with this difficulty.
    Thanks for a response.

    I can put a new serpentine belt on my 1996 chevy 3500 6.5L diesel and within 2 to 3 weeks the tensioner will be pulled all the way out and the belt will be some what loose. What should I do to fix this problem? 1/1/2019

    I just had my water pump and timing chain replaced and now my belts are shredding. Do you think its likely the tensioner is out of whack or do you think it could be a bent water pump or harmonic balancer issue?

  • @lastgengamers1137
    @lastgengamers1137 Před 6 lety +1

    I've never had a squeaking sound but I have had recent moments where my power goes out while driving. Had Alternator checked they said it was fine. This has also resulted in car not being able to start due to battery probably not being charged effectually. I even put a kill switch on the battery and it still dies. I honestly cant remember when I replaced a belt but I know it needs it. So hopefully by replacing a very fast moving tensioner pulley and replacing the worn belt I can keep my car running.

      Last Gen Gamers that sounds like either you’re cam or crank shaft sensors I’d check them out that can also cause internal damages to you’re vehicle like timing can jump that’s not good either

    So is a little bit of vibration on one pulley normal? All of the pulleys are stationary except one. It vibrates slightly. Fyi the vibrating pulley is brand new.

      is it a cheap no-name aftermarket (OEM rejected part)?
      Bearings used to be good but even Benz makes new cars with wobbly idler pulleys to cut down on service life and help them profit on high maintenance cost.
      Japanese tensioner good for 150Kmi vs. Benz only good for 70kmi... half as good but twice as expensive 😅

    • @TheOnedeadguy
      @TheOnedeadguy Před 6 lety +6

      Cause you lost power steering, and your water pump is no longer pushing coolant through your car.

    • @MrAdrianGrigore
      @MrAdrianGrigore Před 6 lety +1

      JuanCarlos Alvarez the belt drives both the power steering pump and the water pump.

    • @washingtonredskin6574
      @washingtonredskin6574 Před 6 lety +1

      because that belt is fed power from the crankshaft and operates pumps responsible for a few things - your power steering pump - makes steering "easy", and your coolant pump - keeps the engine cool and you hot, and your A/C compressor - keeps you cool, and your alternator - provides electricity to your electronics and battery. the serpentine belt is simple but vital.

    Belt and tensioner have the same service life? So every 60k or so miles?What a load of shit, manufacturers just want to sell more parts so they make them wear prematurely
