VERY Important to highlight that he was the first designer to hire models of colour, star them as leads on his campaigns, on his shows, was responsible for Naomi's first VOGUE cover, referred to Iman as his dream woman. A Timeless ICON ❤

I love TBT because of its educational approach, that's something I appreciate from Tim, 20-30 something fans discovering things for the first time. In this case YSL Rive-Gauche was a master, trendsetter and visionaire, Loulou was her perfect match, your boy fan moment was really cute, very respectful and iconic, loved this episode.

They did belong together. Lulu's accesories design were the bomb. From Alber Elbaz to Hedi Slimane have made justice to the house, and to Monsieur Saint Laurent's legacy. Great video and interview.

Those were the days of really beautiful models walking on YSL's shows. Now.. just some grunge faceless things to his name. So sad.

So lovely I enjoyed this so much, you can really see each head designers different inspiration, yet still see that classic touch of Saint Laurent's history x

In my early days doing windows for the high end luxury stores, I always relished an opportunity to use the YSL collection.
The colors, the cuts, the jewelry, the extravagance.
Nothing was more high fashion and brilliant as the YSL.

He loved Black models, he hired many. She was just one of MANY black models he used.

He might be the ultimate poster boy for anti bourgeois art, or postmodernism time where he seems to be so bosses with that idea or art in general... but i think he was able to feel that frustration deep and complete enough to create something so reflective and relevant to his culture that we now know as classic ysl form fits .
great designers try to change in changing time which are rather fleeting. BUT, the best ones are able to observe and reflect themselves in many changes within time itself, which gives us more realized and permanent change in every aspects of out lives.....Warhol would be the best example for this.
