Melanie Horowitz they help with the delivery of the baby. I might be wrong, but in a home birth, I think they deliver the baby. But if you have to have a hospital birth, they come along and help you through the experience. Hope this helps!!

LOL All mom's in labor are super mom's, but reality is that during a contraction you have to stop and focus, but once it is over you feel perfectly fine. When you can no longer walk or talk through a contraction it is a good sign it is time to head to the hospital.

I absolutely believe Star Wars had an influence over Jake's love of the name, however, and so I'm sure the reference will still be made. :)
