- We travelled to Finland in February 2024 for a week. We had an itinerary packed with fun activities like meeting Santa Claus, staying in glass igloos, hunting the Northern Lights and more. This is the first part of the 3 video series. In this video, I show you how we reached Rovaniemi, Lapland from Mumbai, India.
We booked an Indigo-Turkish Airlines flight from Mumbai to Helsinki. From Helsinki airport, we went to Helsinki main station through local transport. We then boarded a 12-hour sleeper train for Rovaniemi.

Thanks for sharing all the itinerary for gorgeous Finland trip, would request you to add certain climatic conditions details like the temperature and how to survive in that weather, what type of clothes and other accessories one should carry while travelling to such extreme climate places.😊

We mostly used forex cards but cash (euros) and cards both work
As overall seasons are changing, one question, do we find the snow and northern lights in the month of may in Finland ?

Nope.. no transit visa required.. but it your layover is more than 8-9 hours then you gotta check

Flight cost-one way or round trip? also is it inclusive of XL fair or not.?
Costs breakdown if possible either throughout for two or one would be helpful. It's confusing when it's for one for flights and for two for the train. (Written ones)

It's always good to mention the dates when you visited the place, will help other plan their trip. I'm also planning for my trip but in September, do you have any information on the updates or app when aurora predictions can be seen?

Great video and thanks for sharing details of travel cost as well...in which month are you guys travelling. Also share the list of things to do before boarding the flight. Like currency conversion, insurance, sim card or anything else.
We have a forex card so loaded euros in that. Sim we used airtel. And we have a one year travel insurance. You can get it online

That’s a good question. So consider every cabin like a personal room. You get a key of your cabin so only you can open it

You selected Intercity 273 which is at 11:13pm??

There is 2 options for a sleeper train. The earlier one Intercity 265 leaves Helsinki at 19:29 and arrives in Rovaniemi at 7:20, the later departure Intercity 273 is at 23:13 and arrives at 11:03. Both last 11 hours 50 minutes. Personally, I would take the later one because you rarely get to check in before 12 noon and dragging heavy bags in the snow and freezing cold does not match my image of a nice start to a vacation 😂 Welcome to Finland 🙂
