Burt had what the majority of celebrities do not possess today. The ability to get up in front of a live audience and just talk, be riveting, and tell stories.
That must have been a great experience,to see Burt live,he certainly is one of the few true stars who enjoyed entaining a Audiance, nobody like him today,a one of legend,
Burt Reynolds was always a great guest on Johnny Carson. Funny stories, quite a sense of humor & easy on the eyes. 😂 One of my favorites!! The best late night show ever.
People forget or do not know but Burt was a huge Hollywood Star…number one box office star for 5 years in a row…..old school Hollywood star who understood his fans
Burt was extremely charismatic and talented. I remember my dad took me to see The Longest Yard and I never laughed so hard! That was until my brother and I went to see Smokey and The Bandit when it came out. It too was hilarious! Burt was a good man and underrated actor. He is missed!
Burt Reynolds was one of the best interviews Johnny ever had on his show. He was such a great storyteller and funny. This is before the pie throwing episodes.
Burt was definitely the greatest chat show entertainer in the world, audiaces and the public loved him,and rightly so,he was voted number 1 at the box office again 4 th time in a row, that must have been satisfying, for him,you can see how self assured he is,and their were some big competion at the box office that year,so yes he deserved his success,I just wish he hadn't turns down ,Terms of endearment,,Pretty women, and Diehard, all offerd to him,but he said no,he could of been no one for another ten years, what a loss, our loss, would of been great in those films,.oh well he had a great career,
100% concur with you, cosby’s dentist bit was not impressive (at least not to me) for a comedian, never liked that man, don’t know what people found in him.
Burton Leon Reynolds Jr. (February 11, 1936 - September 6, 2018) was an American actor, considered a sex symbol and icon of 1970s American popular culture.
Watch how @ 0:25 Carson slaps Reynolds cheek, like some macho Italian mob figure, and Reynolds dismissed it, leaving Carson all flustered, causing him to chin up and straighten his tie.
Burt had a dry sense of humor...very sarcastic...he was a comedic type...could of pulled of Fletch...Alexander Payne movies are perfect for him...liked his outfit that nite too
How the hell does a man showing such consistantly self-deprecating humor strike you as arrogance? You need an adjustment of some sort, cuz you sound a little like George Takei going off on Shatner...

I was at this show. Bert was a complete gentleman to us in the audience
That's why Bert and Johnny fit so well genuine and genuinely funny.
That must have been a great experience,to see Burt live,he certainly is one of the few true stars who enjoyed entaining a Audiance, nobody like him today,a one of legend,
Wow that's pretty awesome
I agree with Justin. 🙂 Too bad, though, that you couldn't have tacked on the surprise birthday party skit spoofing THIS IS YOUR LIFE! 🤣
Burt Reynolds was always a great guest on Johnny Carson.

Burt and Johnny were both charming and funny. They were buddies and admired each other.
Burt walked in everywhere like he owned the place...
And he did at one time right?
I’m now 59 ✊ THESE WERE absolutely wonderful classic times🎉❤️💪
Burt was always a terrific guest whenever he visited Mr. Carson's show. Thanks for sharing!

Aw, the good old days when late night talk shows use to be about interviews and not personal opinion political commentary.
Amen💙🇩🇰🇺🇸🌅🙏💕
That Comment should make Nation News!
Amen+
Burt was the epitome of laid back easy cool. Self aware, makes fun of himself, and naturally charismatic. Not a trace of ego, either.
The Best of the Best 🥰 he also possessed Humility ☺️
Burt Reynolds was an alpha male.
Great actor and nice man too.
Burt had one of the best dry senses of humor of any famous person. There are many other funny Burt Reynolds videos on CZcams to watch.
When we come back after the break we're going to have a little surprise. Surprise!! There's no surprise!!!
The Man !
Burt Reynolds one of the best😊

Nice to see Burt nervous like the rest of us would be.
The Two All-Important Hs Carried Burt Through His Career: Humility and Humor.
No wonder Burt segued so easily into comedies - he's a natural comedian. I bet he would've made a great stand up if he'd wanted to.
He surely had a good run back then!
Does anyone else see Don Rickles influence on Burt’s humor?
I was just thinking that!
78 to 82: Burt’s appearance changed dramatically.
Burt was a great ad lib comedian
Burt Reynold's dentist story just might better than Bill Cosby's.
100% concur with you, cosby’s dentist bit was not impressive (at least not to me) for a comedian, never liked that man, don’t know what people found in him.
Burt was a cool cat.
John William Carson

Oh my god, that grin…
Johnny surprisingly taking a dig at Burt's wigs and lifts.
No idea he was so funny
Classic
I completely thought he was Norm Macdonald when he initially walked out from behind the curtain.
"Her breasts have their own ZIP code!" LMAO 🙂

His hair is so much better here than his later hair pieces.
So FUNNY!!! Lots off Breaks...??!!Jonny!💙🇩🇰🇺🇸🌅🙏💕
What he stated about the root canal procedure is true. It is funny talking about it after it all has been done but not at the time, hahahahaha.
Marty Allen! LOL!!!!
Totally unexpected.
So sad that Burt only ever wanted his fathers approval and was still talking about his father like a young boy before he died an old man . . .
What happened to the surprise bit?
why is only part of this here? Carson says, "after the break we'll have a little surprise--"" and that's all. the rest of it isn't there. crappy.
Looks like Norm MacDonald.

What? No whipped cream?!!
This is what late
Should be.
I don't think I've seen more swagger and arrogance. I like BR but wow is he full of himself.
But he's also on a show where people are expecting him to be Burt Reynolds. He is also self-deprecating.
How the hell does a man showing such consistantly self-deprecating humor strike you as arrogance? You need an adjustment of some sort, cuz you sound a little like George Takei going off on Shatner...
Our Paths: jealous much?
That was all acting. In real he was a very shy man and not arrogant at all.
Why did you have the surgery?
Bad idea. Ruined your career
You're expecting a reply? How weird!
