  • I take the simplest approach. Just the basics. I forgot to mention, I don't use a pole holder as on the board it is much faster to leave the pole on the board because the holder position isn't really that convenient. I carry one rod and that's it.

    awesome channel. i checked out some of your videos; great content. it's hard finding spots around the York Region area and then finding parking close to the access. it seems like you're doing well with that. I should consider getting a SUP for next season as it seems to expand options.
    I saw some of your hunting content. how'd that season go and are you going out this season?

      Thanks! I've stopped hunting for now. Hunting from public land was difficult. I might in the future but nothing for now. Fishing is my new addiction

    Wonderful simple setup! Thanks for sharing. Was that a yellow worm?

    Actually I'd like to know where you go fishing. I got myself a new camera and would love to put it through its paces.

    nice video, would it be a good idea for someone not feeling as confident to just just on the board and just trail the fishing rig behind?

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures  Před rokem +1

      Like trolling? Yes that would work great. My next video actually is going to be about the setup I'm using for a trolling rig. I'll typically sit down and use my kayak paddle attachment while my rod sits in a holder. It works really well so far for small mouth and even perch.

      I just wash it with a little soap and water. I’ve had it for years without issue.

    Nice video. Wheres that cheap board?

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures  Před rokem +1

      Unfortunately this is a more expensive board. After taxes it was around $1,000. It is really stable and has a ton of attachment points. This board is an irocker 11 ft all around. I have a different board I purchased from Amazon for around $230 and definitely not as good or stable as this one.

    I look at the kayak boats and think why. I have a hybrid and think keep it simple.

      I feel the same. I like to get out on the water with the least amount of hassle possible. That includes transporting, set up, and starting fishing as fast as possible because that's why I'm out there.

    where was this video recorded? I'd like to take my wife there. So far we've only been paddling on the rouge south of the 401 out of glen rouge... morning looks so peaceful. But so is 6 - 8 pm on the river and no need to get up early

      @LadybugAdventures  Před 2 lety

      Paddled there many times to the rouge. Fun place. I recorded at Lake Wilcox. Small little lake.

      @@LadybugAdventures I know wilcox lake but I haven't been in many years because I always had issues finding parking and access...

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures  Před 2 lety

      I really hate that so many of our bodies of water are hard to access. I go to Frenchman's Bay as well but parking is so expensive there. I get there at sunrise and paddle until 9:00 a.m. The paid parking starts at 9:00 so I can avoid that. I just wake up really early naturally so it's not too big of an issue.

      @@LadybugAdventures our next outing is going to be frenchman's bay so we can also go on the lake... I will have to pay the parking.
      I have toyed with the idea of loading the boards on the car and then parking in the garage overnight so I can just get up and go very early , then come home and go back to bed

    Cut 2 of the trebles off the lure and have one hook found better hookups and less damage to fish I fish and release in the uk but if fishing for food I doubt it matters bud

    • @LadybugAdventures

      Good idea. I actually just purchased some siwash hooks to replace the trebles on my larger spoons and spinners for just that reason!

      @@LadybugAdventures cool I am sure you will find it just as successful, I english but grew up in American nashville tennessee I have very fond memories of fishing and hunt when I was young in the uk it is not as easy to do either for food and is frowned apon by many people even fishing is mainly catch and release carp angling is very popular people name the fish photo them a release them they take the upmost care of the fish using carp care kits, cradles, mats and no end of other bits of end tackel to catch them I used to be mad for it but have not fished as much the last couple of years due to the increase in syndicate prices and clubs claiming most stretches of river the prices for tickets have gone crazy i used to fish in France and Spain alot but agsin the prices are crazy nowadays easily over £1000 for a weeks fishing one of the last places we can realy fish and eat what we catch is out of the sea as long as you have a license your good to go this year my river and lake licence was £42 so I guessing a years fishing for a sea license will be a similar price you can fish for trout but most of the time they sre from lakes. I watched your video for the paddleboard to be honest as I had my first paddleboard experience last week while on a golf and fishing holiday making my way round the Devon and Cornwall coastline we had 2 paddleboards in the motor home I had a blast out at sea accessing coves and beaches that you can't get to unless you have a boat some even a boat wouldn't get to but we could on the paddleboards after a hour of constantly falling in the water I got the hang of balancing on one and we where off in a adventure soon as we finished paddleboarding I said to my cousin we must be able to fish off these hence here I am looking for ideas i can't wait to start my own adventures funnily while having a bbq on one of the beaches we meet 2 guys who where paddleboarding they where younger then use still at collage but on a break they also had a harpoon gun and 2 fishing rods between them they walked off and about 3 hours later just as we where about to leave they returned with half a dozen crab and a couple of flat fish they said every chance they get they where out on the boards catching there own food from the sea being young and at collage they didn't have much money but lived cornwall for the surf, sea and lifestyle they didn't earn much money being at collage and wanted to stay down cornwall coast so caught and ate what they could was a great holiday for me and a new hobby has been started for sure... sorry to blabber on so much but I can not wait to get a board and get back in the water to try some fishing be it my local river or back down one of our coasts best of luck on your adventures and tight lines buddy.

      @@ChrisSmith-rd6dm no worries. I can see your going to be passionate and fishing off of the paddle board! I still really enjoy it and my goal this year is to catch a Chinook salmon off of it. It will probably tow me all around the lake but if I land it it will be epic. This should make salmon that we have are not as good as the West Coast but it will make for many meals for the family. I'm glad our fisheries are easier to access here in Canada. I just need a license which is around $30-50 for 3 years! There are some more lakes that are becoming private but there's so much public water that doesn't really matter.
