Everyone's cool, calm and collected until the stranded fisherman goes to the boat and starts playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
I laughed so hard at that boss
Surprise somebody mention Need for Speed in this channel.
This is the equivalent of The Edge from Furi using a paddle half way through his fight
That's like a Zelda boss suddenly pulling a gun.
@@jaimeantonioolaguezchirino5805 Not Zelda, but I immediately thought of Isshin the Swordsaint.
Starts with a sword, then pulls out a partisan he was apparently hiding in the grass, then he starts summoning lighting, then finally he pulls out a fucking Glock from his back pocket, no warning.
Crazy how the Fisherman/boat boss is basically in Elden Ring
I literally scrolled to comment this, holy shit lmao
Mariner vibes lol-
George R R Martin took a lot of inspiration from Trials of Argolis
And somehow this boat fight was harder
Every masterpiece has its cheap copy XD
There’s this one souls-like I enjoy. It’s called “Demon’s Souls”, and they really nailed the dark souls formula.
Idk, I also Heard about bloodborne, but these Indie games, I fell like they miss something to be as good as dunk souls
Dunk souls

Stranded fisherman is the pinnacle of game design.
There are no other replies because this is undisputed
Boss design specifically
10:24 for anyone wondering
I kind of want that as a wargame miniature. A guy on a boat set on a base, except the base is decorated as if the boat is being skimmed across the ground rather than water. It would be super weird.
It's like a Sekiro boss!
I love how game 1's health bar is two halves of a skull that come together to become the game over screen when you die.
yeah that's pretty cool
That game was oozing with retro personality
Yeah, that is a cool visual, but I don't like how you can't see what your maximum health is since there is no end cap shown.
@@adamofblastworks1517 Same, I think it could be easily fixed by just still having the empty bar shown as the skull is moving down. Or there could just be an animation of the skulls moving to the center of the screen and joining when you die. It's a cool idea, just needs a bit of polish.
Personman000 sounds like a name an alien would give to itself to try and blend in with humans

The healthbar in tyrant's reign is actually really awesome though. The way lowering your health combines the skull pieces and turns into the graphic is clever and just pretty cool

Like why is that boss so funny😭😭😭😭 the most creative game I've seen in a long time
Minecraft Boating on land taken to the silly level. I love it.
If it makes the player smile, it was a good boss.
The row boat was the funniest thing I've ever seen in a game.
Idk Crowbcat's compilation of Cyberpunk's DISASTER phase is pretty good.
Though I guess they weren't goin' for comedy
That "El Cyd" boss in Dark Throne is literally an enemy from Infinity Blade
Yeah I thought the same thing. It’s the dark knight right?
@@imgaine51 As someone who’s played and beat all 3 IB games, that looks EXACTLY like the dark knight

Blue Fire is hopefully gonna see a spike in reviews due to it being one of the better games in August's humble monthly
Dark Throne seems to be framerate-dependent. The accelerated idle animations and fast stamina regen kind of tip it off. This might also have affected the rest of the game. If anyone for any god-forsaken reason is going to play it, unplug your GPU or use Rivatuner or something to limit the framerate to say, 30 or 60.

Blue Fire is an argentinian game! One of the most recently developed here, and one of the first to be published on Switch too! Feeling proud of my compatriots!
Any other Argentinian games in Switch?
Pineapple: "This shouldn't even be a boss"
Boss: Roes boat on land.
Funny thing is stranded fisherman is exactly the kind of out of this universe type of boss you'd see in a souls game... even with the boat crashing in to the wall attack
It's so heartwarming to see a game made in Argentina get to this beautiful channel, Blue Fire sure got love in it's making

Buddy, I think you just made the devs of Blue Fire a lot happier because you may have made them a lot richer. Definitely picking that up!
It's so underrated
Honestly has been my favorite game of the year
It looks adorable and fun. I’m in.
I work at GameStop I checked our website and it's coming out physically for PS4/Switch. I'm so happy for the devs they deserve the recognition I'm gonna suggest the game like crazy since it's genuinely a good Hallow Knight/Dark Souls like game.
It has been a fun game so far (I've put in about 7 hours) but at least on steam if you look at the achievements global percentage it looks like a lot of people are falling off before beating the forest temple which is the first dungeon. For what all the game does right I think the ratio of challenge rooms to get more hearts and the rest of the game are off.
@@TheHereticPilgrim the challenge rooms were very fun to do with a friend
I put 25 hours in, I got to the final boss, but the difficulty curve was bullshit

👋 Hey there, Morbid's developer here, checking in!
Thank you for covering the game, appreciate it!
I feel the urge to explain myself a little though! This is going to sound like a bit of an excuse, and maybe it is? Here we go..
For me, personally, the development of Morbid was the most stressful time of my entire life.
We had a-lot of issues trying to find suitable programmers for the game, and long story short, about 90% of all of the code that made it's way in to the game, was written by me.
I'm not saying this to brag, though it may sound like it. But Morbid was planned to have atleast two full-time coders.
The whole team behind Morbid was 5-6 people, which is just way too few for the scale of a game that Morbid is, and for the time we had to make the game happen (originally one year, but we had to get 6 additional months to finish the game)
Unfortunately, we've had to move on to new things already. But the good news is, we learnt a-lot from Morbid. The game was succesful enough that we're Still Running (ha), and we were able to get a funding for our next title!
The team has since grown to 9, and we're still looking for one more to join.
We've changed engines, and we have clearer idea what to do next, and better planning in general.
Fingers crossed this time around things will go a bit smoother 🤞
Maybe we'll see again, Mr Pineapple, in a year or two.
Sorry for the wall of text, carry on people ✌
wow thanks for the insight, that's really impressive but also so unfortunate. Looking forward to what you guys can do next!
If you ever get the chance, please revisit Morbid's universe. The aesthetic you're team created is absolutely wonderful. Visceral, grotesque, and over the top without being excessive or uncomfortably disgusting. It hits that sweet spot perfectly and deserves another chance to shine!
as pineapple said before your aesthetic and designs are amazing so as long as the other aspects of the game are solid your work really has so much potential to be awesome :))
I love Bloodborne just a lot and you guys seem to do the same.
And I have to say Morbid art style, especially some enemy designs were INCREDIBLY good. Really, please continue making games with this art-style quality
Do you plan to ever update the game someday and apply what you’ve learned?
15:15 It really really looks like someone forgot to make their game frame-independant. With how it's coded, I guess the faster the PC the harder it makes the game.
Yeah, as a programmer U immediately noticed that lol
@@somename371 Well I mean that's the first thing you think about when you see something like that happen. It's probably one of the most common and basic mistake everyone makes from time to time. Forgetting a deltatime somewhere
@@Exilum yeah of course and if you're always testing on the same system it can be hard to notice these things

Okay the game over screen in that first game is amazing. The health bar turning into a skull and laughing at you is neat.
How are more people not talking about how the art style in Blue Fire is the wind waker to a tee. From the character/world design, the 4 hears in the corner and the enemy deaths. Very cool
