Derek Jenkins, Lucid's chief designer, came from Mazda, where he designed the current generation of MX5 Miata. Rawlinson was VP of vehicle engineering at Tesla, of course, but before that he was chief engineer at Jaguar and Lotus. Before that he designed and built small open top sportscars for racing.
It's only a matter of time until we have a small light 2-door roadster out of them.

This is very easy to copy - so any competitor can and will beat them. Also Tesla, Toyota, GM, VW, Benz, etc already have lighter, more powerful and cheaper battery tech in the pipeline. So by the time Lucid starts to produce more cars - the competition will have new generation battery cells (and also self-driving tech).
