My favorite trolldier moment of all time has got to be when me and an enemy trolldier jumped at the same time, gardened eachother at the same time, died to falldamage at the same time and then typed "lol" into chat at the exact same time. I never saw them again after that but im pretty sure I could use our now unbreakable bond of telepathy that was established that instant to find them.

My favorite was when I accidentally counter garden someone on high tower and me and my friend laugh for 2 min straight
My favorite was when I was having a trolldier duel with this random guy and he market gardened me first causing me to go upwards and then he just stood there like celebrating I was going to die from fall damage but as I came down I market gardened him back causing us to both die at the same time, it felt amazing

As a part-time Trolldier main, I'd just like to say fuck you to all heavy mains. You have way too much health and constantly end my killstreaks just by existing on the enemy team.

One of my favorite moments while playing Trolldier was when I accidentally saved our medic from an enemy sniper. I had built up a lot of speed and ended up passing in front of the medic as the sniper was lining up his shot. The sniper headshot me rather than the medic, but it was fully charged, so I died anyway. He happened to be using the Classic, so I exploded in a violent pile of gibs right in front of the medic I accidentally saved. Both parties had a good laugh about it. 10/10 would jump again

I will never get over how they added a big ol' funnel to the Rocket Jumper that clips when you reload and valve didn't even bother to notice it, remember this was when the game wasn't fully abandoned too.

Besides being a market gardener tutorial, this was the rocket jumping tutorial I've been looking for. Out of all the tutorials I've seen and people I've asked, nobody bothered to explain that you have to *let go of W* to airstrafe. Thank you.
I love trollgier and demoknight because it basically makes you mimic the other projectile class's playstyle, but with your body. Trolldier makes you throw yourself in an arc to land where your target will be when you land, and demoknight does the same but goes in a straight line (unless you're trimping)

My favorite feeling playing trolldier: Hitting an airborne enemy, especially if its an enemy soldier or scout, and even better when you hit another enemy once you land
not as good but still love it: missing an airborne enemy, but killing someone else with the same swing
edit: some time after this I rocket jumped into a tunnel and had a lot of horizontal speed, enough to catch up with this scout I was chasing. Ended up hitting a cloaked spy who is also the only reason I didnt hit that scout. I didnt even know that spy was there.

If you crouch while in the air your ENTIRE body moves towards your center of gravity, but due to the fact that most people have more weight in their upper body than their legs the legs move more then the rest of the body.

One of the interesting side grades for trolldier is actually the liberty launcher, and market gardener. The extra rocket in the liberty launcher lets you do some cool stuff that isn’t as easy or is just flat out impossible with 4 rockets. If you use the battalion’s backup as well, health packs will give you more hp, and the liberty launcher has a built in modifier that makes them deal less damage. It’s cool.
Probaly my favorite tf2 video on CZcams and definitely in my top 10 favorites. The editing combined with the humor and you know, THE SHOVELING STUFF, is very good
This video is an absolute masterpiece. Editing is solid, every joke got a laugh outta me, information is top-tier and you didn't worry too much about specifics while also acknowledging them. Every example was clear and the way you conveyed the information is better than actual teachers.

I would suggest holding a strafe key when jumping, I did this when I first started learning to not hold w. It kind of gives you something to replace W that isn’t hindering your strafing.

More reasons why you shouldn't hold W.
For whatever reason, it actually slows you down mid air. Ask Valve why, but it can be useful when you want to fullstop mid-air.

FIRST FUCKING TRY, I DID A GOOD ROLLOUT AND GOT MY FIRST FUCKING MARKET GARDEN. Haven't been able to replicate it since but jumping and swinging works somehow. This playstyle is a dopamine factory. This might be really late but the reason strafing is faster and better to do instead of holding w is because when you press w or s it has a certain speed cap that a and d do not have, this was used after half life [1998] and other games because it was super broken, but they forgot to add a s cap [which they now have]. so that is why strafing is better.

Hey Soundsmith! Thank you so much for this video! Honestly I've been actively making notes during the video and i already found many mistakes in my rocket jumping which i plan on getting rid of and practicing more in order to get better as Trolldier. The playstyle really seems fun and i look forward to actually trying it out myself (actually i already did and got my first garden and stomp in the same game lol but i need more practice). Anyway thanks for this "tutorial"! It really helped me understand my mistakes.

A quick tip to everyone reading this: Do yourself a favor and rebind crouch to shift. It's much better for your pinky
Or if you have a mouse with extra buttons that are configurable, having one that is easily accessed set to Ctrl helps a lot. I tend to have Ctrl and Shift binded on all my mouse profiles.
@@exoltik3199 I would also bind use (h) to one of those mouse buttons because it's so much easier to reach than h and makes using Halloween spells/the grapple hook way easier

I wanna put this out here, from personal experiences. Learning to NOT HOLD W is literally the roughest part of this. If you're not used to repetetive key usage, Jump Academy will cramp your hands up, primarily your pinky, which is normally associated with the control(CTRL) key. Don't lay into it for hours at a time, take breaks, it will get frustrating but it's worth it for the mobility you learn to cash in on. It may be gruelling but it's worth it.
