I JUST REALIZED! Netero never used his right arm and left leg when he was playing get the ball against Killua and Gon for the very first time. It's fact, and Killua stated that. Netero looses his left arm and right leg when fighting Meruem and his right arm and left leg were the last ones remaining! Maybe Meruem noticed this detail and that's why he choose to take off those limbs first as they are Netero's dominant? Togashi is a genius.
Wouldn't it be the exact opposite? Meruem took off the less dominant limbs because those were easier to take? And that way Netero was giving Gon and Killua a bigger handicap by not using his dominant limbs.

yeah I like that to. I'm getting so sick of a protagonist or however whoever is clearly stronger in a fight taking it easy on whoever else just to advance the plot and I'm not saying I don't love the triumph but still enough is enough, come up with an actual reason the character is holding back his power like it's been sealed or any valid excuse that fits the genre.
he literally had one fight with an opponent who could even scratch at his super op level and with two openings he didn't move in for the kill and in both instances, he was ready to actually end the battle to talk a little more. in every other instance, he was like a child crushing ants (notice the irony of an ant-creature crushing humans?) until he randomly changed his entire persona during his games and that fight.
Meruem is really something else. Not just a king by title, but a king of character development, going from monster to man, mirroring Gon's descent from man to monster.

They basically alluded to the fact that the setting they're in has reached their version of the atomic age, so they'd just have to nuke them. The only reason Netero even bothered with the fight was to buy time for evacuation and to draw Meruem to a place where it'd cause less casualties, with both the blast and the fallout. The end part of this arc was pretty heavy on how far humans would go to prevent their own extinction. Even if it meant nuking their own people and making areas unlivable.

He is already stronger than most of them in his basic form (and he easily beat Netero), after absorbing 2 royal guard, he is without a doubt the most powerful character in HxH (by far) so what's the point of being stronger when he can already crush everyone else? Every creature borns as innocent and then becomes either good or evil . Meruem born as most evil creature and died as a sensible character who changed seeing good things in humans . This character development alone made Hunter x Hunter my most favorite anime and raised my standards so high that i cant enjoy most of the anime anymore as i expect same level of logics and seriousness from every anime now.

It has 2 season, and 2nd season it self has 3 cours (shou, ten, ketsu) Total 60 eps combined from all season. While monogatari is about 96 eps in total + 3 movies, but you need to do research before starting monogatari in order to watch them correctly.

Just got in this arc for the second time yesterday, I'm so excited to see this fight again !
Every creature borns as innocent and then becomes either good or evil .
Meruem born as most evil creature and died as a sensible character who changed seeing good things in humans .
This character development alone made Hunter x Hunter my most favorite anime and raised my standards so high that i cant enjoy most of the anime anymore as i expect same level of logics and seriousness from every anime now.

Sure take your time, durarara is also one of my favorite. It has 2 season, and 2nd season it self has 3 cours (shou, ten, ketsu)

While monogatari is about 96 eps in total + 3 movies, but you need to do research before starting monogatari in order to watch them correctly.
