I had this in my cassette player in my 78 Camaro when I took this girl out for a 1st date. I asked her if she liked "Head East"? She said"never heard of them" I played "Flat as a pancake" the whole night! We've been together for over 40 years! Thanks Heat East for great memories!
this band did make some fine tunes but this tunes takes the cake right out of my mouth!! i i will love head east for a time, just cause they turned me onto a outstanding song, i pray your all doing well PEACE! :)

I think their best album was their live album. The live version is much better than the studio version. Too bad they never really made big time headliner status. John Schlitt got saved and moved to Christian Music as lead singer of Petra. He has his own band now and still does Christian Rock. I think he might occasionally get together with Head East for a show.

There should be more live headeast video out there. But then there should be more concert footage of most bands from the 70s. If you weren't the Stones, Skynyrd, Zepplin, or one of the huge bands, you had to be on the Mid Night Special to have any quality video. You have to remember not only were there no phones with cams back then, abd all anyone had was 16 mm with ify sound if you even had audio. Plus the labels didn't want cams, recorders or anything inside the show. People on the front row were lucky to sneak in a 100 instamatic camera and get ,able one pic out of a roll of film. remember what a roll of film was? lol It was back when\ you didn't get mulligans on pics by just erasing the bad ones. Now that I think about rock concerts and the tech we had back then could be an historical field of study. and I could teach it. lol
You would be amazed how incredibly rare it is for any rock band to have concert footage unless they were one of the monster bands. Some of the lesser bands would get more air play if there was actual footage from back then. Some of the opening acts were kick ass stage bands
Horrible footage. I saw them at The Iowa Jam in Des Moines in 1979. They were awesome, but this doesn't show them very well. Probably something to do with filming by the use of just one camera.

I saw them 7 times in person - back in the day.
Love this song
used to watch them live at the Red Lion and Chances R in Champaign

Thanks
For some reason this video keeps disappearing and reappearing, I'm glad its back up.
I'm sooo confused. I know this is the studio track from Flat as a Pancake but who is the band in the video? And why not post their cover?
Thats about as close as you are going to get to the real deal. I thought it was right on the money.

Cow bell
most excellent
too bad the original Head East never had the sense to film themselves

There appears to be one member missing in this video. There were 5 in Head East. This shows only 4.
Well Schlitt.
I don't think this is them. I don't recognize anybody.
I agree something aint right here...
This isn't Head East.
No? They sound like them
This is lip synched to the original studio recording. Hard to find any original live concert video with real audio from the ‘70’s or 80’s.
This is not...NOT Head East...Schlitt does not play an instrument...this isn't even a cover...sad attempt
Band from 2006 on only had Roger left as original member.

So basically this is crap onna stick??
I can hear this original version anywhere. Stop it!!
Good song, but WAY overplayed. Do people not realize that Head East had many GREAT songs besides this one?!
