    One thing to add on the original Fast Pass is that we all felt that it was part of the ticket we purchased for the day. Using the Fast Pass just made the day more fun because you could coordinate your rides and spend less time in lines on the “big” rides. Disney was using FP for people management back then. To me, the whole Genie app is just a rip off by making me pay for what was once part of my ticket price. AND they added “pay for ride” lightning lanes to “big” rides like Radiator Springs Racers. Now we are back to 90 min waits on that ride because Genie does nothing for that ride. Every change Disney makes to the ride system does not make my experience better and it costs more.

      @@firestorm-qd3tm Right, because we want to get the most out of the day and ticket we already paid for..It’s like the airlines! Your seat costs this much, but if you want to bring bags it’s another $50. Do you want to sit with your family? (Or take the single rider all day?) Americans are so unhappy with the airline service model and Disney thinks it is the model for them to follow, too.

      @@firestorm-qd3tmIt actually isn’t, maybe for you though. Without it you can’t get through all the rides in a park at Disney World, Magic Kingdom won’t even be able to do it in 2. So forms I need it and it’s for it. However I hate that I have to pay for it now along with a really expensive park ticket so it costs way more money than before. That’s what sucks and is ridiculous. I edited this but by the way you can still coordinate your day with genie, you just have to do it in the morning of that park day. You then plan to be by that area of the park around the time of your pass.

    I’m 68 years old and have been to Disneyworld at least 10 times over the years. The first time was 1973, last time was 2005. I watch these videos about the Disney parks now and am disgusted by Disney’s $$$ greed. This is no longer a treat that the average family can afford. Shame on them!

    • @MrCho14
      @MrCho14 Před 7 měsíci +6

      What do they do about the volume of people wanting to go and are willing to pay? If they make things cheap, then they'll have even more people lined up to go. Higher prices helps to reduce volume. You could make entry based on a lottery, but other places have tried such things and it leads to professional resellers (there's always a way) buying up the lottery spots and then being able to set prices themselves.

    • @staticbuilds7613
      @staticbuilds7613 Před 7 měsíci +5

      The issue is that there are far too many people these days who go to places. Almost everything from before 2000 has been ruined and over crowded. I have never been to one of these places and probably never will because of the lines and large wait times. I am not going to a expensive place to just have 2 rides because I did that back in 2011 with a theme park. Even at my local McDonalds I got a 50 minute wait time on average.

    • @emmicah7720
      @emmicah7720 Před 6 měsíci

      @@staticbuilds7613I've been to Disneyland quite a bit. While the waits can be awhile, if someone tells you they only got 2 rides done all day long, especially if they arrived first thing in the morning and stayed all day, they're lying to you. Most rides have an average of 30-45 minutes with the exception of the big rides like Radiatior Springs Racers or Rise of the Resistance, which tend to run 60-100 minutes. It is a wait for sure, but you're definitely able to do way more than 2 rides.

      Yeah the minute Lightning Lanes were announced I knew it was WAY too cheap, it was a price point that you knew a LOT of people would happily slap down $25 but still have others object to paying more, the net result is that all "skip the line" queues would always be filled with people making standby queue guests stuck for a lot longer than necessary AND Disney would be financially encouraged to offer more slots for Lightning Lane than they did the old Fastpass system meaning yeah longer wait times for everyone not paying extra. Then compare to other parks e.g. Universal, where the cost to skip line is comparable to the cost to enter the park (with multi-day tickets), and a lot less people end up skipping the lines.

      Because of their lightweight plastic and design, plastic Straws are particularly prone to ending up in our waterways where they break up and account for a large percentage of all microplastics in your drinking water. Unlike those "Giant plastic shells" which are actually biodegradable and less likely to end up in your drinking water. Banning straws may not be an all time solution, but it's a start and far better then doing absolutely nothing. Can you prove otherwise?
      But yes keep living in denial, go right ahead and keep pretending there is nothing wrong with everything you casually throw away. You'll die one day and it will all be your kids and someone elses problem, right?

Between last year's experience, and the day at Magic 2 months ago, I would NEVER go back. The Haunted Mansion broke down 3 times when we were on it. The 7 Dwarfs Mine Train broke down. This wasn't Walt Disney's dream......this is greed and corruption at its very best. Never. Ever. Again.

  • @UmmYeahOk

    By getting rid of the complementary Magical Express, more and more guests are seeking individual ride shares, with Disney as their SECOND stop. By making Target and others a first stop, guests can get their drinks and other essentials at drive up locations, and not pay $5 every single time they want a coke. They end up saving a lot more money, even after the cost of transportation.

    • @UmmYeahOk
      @UmmYeahOk Před 7 měsíci

      @@Durwood71 Yes always. They can’t enforce this because my Target Coke looks identical to the cokes they sell at their hotels and parks.
      A few years ago they had to ban wagons because they just take up too much space. At Disneyland, young children are more likely going to be forced to walk, vs at WDW, but that also meant banning coolers. If you brought in a lunch box, they wouldn’t care.
      A full day at the park, you can’t really lug around that many drinks for your family, so I usually just had two in my backpack, one I held, and one my husband held, so 4 total for a family of 3. We would end up buying drinks for dinner, and possibly lunch if we didn’t finish what we brought into the park. If it was a cup, I would try to use their ice in my bottle. Or pour some of the drink back into the bottle since it’s easier to carry. Some things don’t taste as good hot, which is why my husband only gets one bottle and buys everything else, and why I usually end up just adding ice cubes sometimes to my second.
      These bottles are also used at the hotel, where we drink with breakfast, and when we get back from the parks, so they are all used, and we still buy $5 drinks, just not as many, and save a ton doing it.
      People got greedy though and started doing things like instacart, so all their groceries are shipped to the resort themself, rather than picked up. This means now they have to charge EVERYONE a flat $6 fee for every delivery because they simply need additional staffing and storage for this nonsense. I ended up shipping myself a $40 spirit jersey because I knew I wouldn’t get it before my flight, and had to pay that $6 fee, for something so small.

Doesn't it require recharging, either with batteries you bring with you or batteries they will sell you for exorbitant prices? Where Magic bands don't have that issue right? So this change means they can sell park goers expensive batteries to recharge their phones which they are required to use instead of their free bands.
