So you have finally decided you need a Digital Art projector.
What you need to understand first is there are two different types of art projectors
    1. Digital Art projectors
The media used in these projectors is Off a laptop, Pc, phone, or any electronic streaming device.
This type is going to give you the best, most professional results. You can project very detailed and clear images using 720P, 1080P or even 4k Projectors!
4K Projectors Cost insane right now, they will probably get cheaper forwards in time. But for now, I think buying a good 1080P projector is more than enough for most Mural Wall art designs, and art projects.
As usually you mainly want the art projector for tracing your artwork.
    2. Physical art projectors aka Opaque art projectors
This type of projector will need a physical media to project your images.
You will need a small photo of drawing of whatever you want to project.
They are very common with artists and are very simple and fun.
The downside though is they usually don't work well in bright or well lit rooms!
What you need to do Before buying your Digital projector.
    What Size do you need?
Are you planning on very big Mural wall art, or do you just want to trace on a small canvas.
Get a tape measure and get yourself a rough estimate of what size you need. To measure the size go from corner to corner of a rectangle. Or you can look up what sizes look like.
Are you going to be doing your artwork in a bright place?
Some artists don't mind working in the dark, and have the opportunity to do their art in dark studios.
However, if you can't do avoid the light and will definitely want to have light where you are working, then you will need a Bright projector!
Brightness is measured by Lumens or Lux.
The brighter the setting you will be working in, the brighter the projector you need.
    And finally, Portability.
Do you work On the go, and do your artistry in many places? Go for a Pocket Projector!
Otherwise getting a big projector will usually give you better results if you don't need the extra portability. Keep in mind they are a little heavy.
I know you artists hate carrying around a million things, which is why there is a pocket projector on this list.
    Brand?

Hello, thank you for posting this!
I was wondering best suggestion for projecting an image onto a canvas to draw and then paint. I mainly just want to use the projection for proper proportions to save time. Whether the image is coming from usb or phone doesn't really matter to me. I work on canvases as small as 16x20 inches but mainly use 3ftx4ft. sized canvases. Having the option to go a bit bigger would be nice as I am interested in doing larger sized work.
With the Vanyko leisure 510 I am guessing I cant work with the smaller sizes. But would 3x4ft canvases still be okay? I also wanted to know if you would recommend the Vanyko leisure 3 for what I'm doing in price point perspective over the leisure 510.

      @LuigisProductReviews  Před 4 lety +5

      Hello there Vivian!
Im glad you enjoyed the video!
      As for your questions.
So Im guessing the most convenient option for you would probably be a mini projector. That way you could easily position it anywhere, and you could also figure out a way to attach it to an adjustable Mic arm, or something of that sort if you want it hung overhead.
Here is a mini projector that can connect to your phone, and can also project sizes from 15" to 130"
      Vamvo Ultra Mini Portable Projector
      amzn.to/2H4yzkD
As you are working on small canvas projects there is no real need for having a massive projector so that Mini projector should definitely do the job.
It also has very positive reviews And supports iPhone, Android, and laptops.
If you don't mind it being a little bigger than 20x 20
The VANKYO Burger 101 Pico Is a great option from Vankyo, who have great support and great projectors.
      amzn.to/2OzMZNC
The only downside is Sizes from 30Inch to 115 Inches from 0.8 to 3.0 Meters away from a wall or surface.
( the first option works from 15" size to 130")
I think you could Theoretically have it a little closer to the wall and it would be smaller? But it would probably be in the way.
The only downside is Sizes from 30Inch to 115 Inches from 0.8 to 3.0 Meters away from a wall or surface.
I think you could Theoretically have it a little closer to the wall and it would be smaller? But it would probably be in the way.
And here is the Third option :
      Artlii Portable DLP Projector
      20"-120" Projection Image
      1.6-10 Feet Distance ( Best Choice 6.8ft /80Inch)
      Also supports iphone and Android
This one also seems to have very good reviews and Works 20"x20" at 1.6 Feet away.
      amzn.to/31BJ8Fg
If you find that you don't want a portable projector and prefer a Wall powered projector no problem, Don't hesitate to tell me.
But I think these would definitely be easier to mount in weird places, and move them around to fit your needs perfectly. They also have small projection minimum sizes which is needed for small canvas tracing!
However, Another thing you could do, Is Make the image alittle smaller, and it will also reduce in size making you be able to use it on your canvas. However that will cause it to lose a little quality. But it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
I wish you the best of luck with your choices!
I hope this helped you out!
      Otherwise:
for the Vankyo Leisure 3 or Vankyo 510.
The vankyo Leisure 3 is a Great budget projector with smaller Projecting size capabilities
provides a watching size from 32” to 170” with the projection distance between 4.9ft to 16.4ft. 6.5 ft is the recommended viewing distance and it’s straightforward to achieve a clear and regular image by the focus and keystone correction adjusting.
Which is smaller than the Vankyo 510 Which could provide a good option.
However there is also a newer version of the Vankyo Leisure 3 out right now.
It's Called the Vankyo leisure 470
It provides 1080p, and it also provides Higher contrast ratio.
however, It Doesn't provide as small screen size. It only goes from "40 to "200
You might wanna check things out on my website, and that might help reduce your confusion. I have the projectors on a Table for easy comparison, and there is also another Post about Wifi projectors, which also includes some good options.
However, for the smallest sizes possible? the ones I mentioned in the beginning will be your best options.
      www.luigisproductreviews.com/projectors-with-wifi-connectivity/
      www.luigisproductreviews.com/best-projectors-for-phones/
      www.luigisproductreviews.com/projectors-for-artists/
You will find Sizes and all sorts of information quickly beside any photos with all the specs.

I bought the Artograph flare 450 digital projector despite the high price because I am a demanding artist and I was looking for the top. I immediately saw a malfunctioning concerning the so called keystone feature, that allows to regulate the inclination of the projected image, and is very important for my particular purposes. It only worked in one direction. By using the remote controller it was still possible to do it but I have a special lighting set up on the ceiling which is controlled by remote and happens to interfere with other devices. Long story short I promptly described the problem to the so called customer service, providing every information as requested. After several weeks and persisting attempts to have an adequate answer they simply told me that I could just use the remote controller, that's all. After one and a half month without using the projector here I am at the starting point, hoping that nothing else comes up in the future with this flawed software. Hope nothing goes wrong because nobody is going to give your money back.

Thank you so much for this helpful video. Quick question. If I bought a Vanko would I be able to trace onto my canvas 18" and up. Or would I only be able to trace 30" from the device. It may be due to COVID but the pocket ones are not available directly through Amazon anymore. Only through "buy through these sellers." Oddly enough, as an artist, drawing is difficult for me and I would love to figure out how to trace my reference pictures for proportions etc, then paint from there. I'm not interested in EZ tracer as it has to small of a reference size 3.5" x 3.5" Thank you in advance. You are a God send.

      Hello.
      Sure.
So you want the projector to be on top of your canvas, and ur canvas under the projector?
Or do you want the projector to be projecting forwards onto a standing canvas?
      the next question is.
Do you intend on using it in a bright room?
      and.
      what is your budget?
      Anything else to add?
Once you answer these questions I can help you out better.
Is it the projector itself that you are confused on?
Or is it how you might hang the projector above your canvas if you wanted it from above?
The more details you provide on waht you want, the better answer I can give you!
      Good luck!

I don't understand what you mean by, You will then use paint in windows to draw
I think any unique idea is definitely great, and I myself like doing things in my own unique way. So I would definitely support any idea as long as you thought it through and know what you want to achieve.
Otherwise, The only issue i see with your plan is, Projector Mounts for the cieling aren't built to allow the projector to point down. They are usually built to point to the wall.
So if you like DIY projects and are confident to make yourself your own Bracket to allow the projector to point down from the ceiling then sure thing! great idea.
Otherwise, If you aren't comfortable with the idea of having to create your own mount it will be harder.
If it were me, Id just go for it and I'd figure out a way to make it work.
      But that's me
I don't know you or anything about your background, so that will be a decision you would have to make.

However, overall it is a very sturdy well known projector. And it is also shaped like a Can which could be helpful to place it at a desired angle too. It also has a Tripod that you can get, which would definitely be helpful.

    • @LuigisProductReviews
      @LuigisProductReviews  Před 4 lety +1

@@LostMines Another solution you could do. Is. Take a smaller picture. Or resize the picture to a smaller ratio on the computer. You can just google it. Resize my picture. You will find many online image resizing programs that will resize your image without losing quality.
Then you would have some projection overthrowing outside your canvas, but your picture you want will be on the canvas perfectly.
So yes. having a smaller picture on a bigger screen would also work to work on the Size you desire.
So technically. even if ur projector does 100000" If you put a tiny photo on that 100000" you will still get it to work on a small sized project.
The only problem is that the 1080P will spread to a larger area. Thus when u use a smaller picture you will only be effectively using 720P as the rest of the pixels are outside the screen.
But i think it won't make much of a difference and is definitely an option.
But overall going for a 20" projector to start with is better if the specs were equal. But usually the 30" projection size projectors have way better specs and Lumens and Contrast ratio and Image quality So i would honestly recommend that is what you do.
And as i said. Just play with the size of the photo and you should be good to go.

For small art pieces here are my recommendations:
So Im guessing the most convenient option for you would probably be a mini projector. That way you could easily position it anywhere, and you could also figure out a way to attach it to an adjustable Mic arm, or something of that sort if you want it hung overhead.

      amzn.to/31BJ8Fg
If you find that you don't want a portable projector and prefer a Wall powered projector no problem, Don't hesitate to tell me.
But I think these would definitely be easier to mount in weird places, and move them around to fit your needs perfectly. They also have small projection minimum sizes which is needed for small canvas tracing!
However, Another thing you could do, Is Make the image alittle smaller, and it will also reduce in size making you be able to use it on your canvas. However that will cause it to lose a little quality. But it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
You might wanna check things out on my website, and that might help reduce your confusion. I have the projectors on a Table for easy comparison, and there is also another Post about Wifi projectors, which also includes some good options.

But if you have good advice for people to follow, go ahead and comment it, I am human, and humans aren't perfect. I tried my best to find the best options, but the options I pick will never be perfect.
Any opinion is appreciated and could be helpful for other viewers.
      Have a nice day!

Way to steal other people's footage. I don't trust anything you say now.

      Hello Thomas Kirby.
The first part of the video is full of clips from Copyright free sources.
The actual product videos are from fellow youtubers.
I'm very sorry, I know its annoying that It's like im stealing other people's footage.
But that is definitely not my intent.
When constantly making top 5 videos, It is near impossible to buy the 5 products for each video. Each video would cost a ton to make, and there is no way I could afford that for now.
Hopefully in the future once I get more subscribers, I can actually buy all the products to increase the quality of the videos and how thorough the reviews are.
But I always try my best to do tons and tons of research to make sure I find the best 5 products available. I don't just make a video for the sake of making it.
I put in days of research for each video to make sure I always give people the best information possible.
The only reason I take people's videos is to make sure I give you guys the best videos of the products possible so you can see them and make a better decision.
I am also Totally with any youtuber who doesn't want me to use his content and am 100% ready to take down / swap any footage that people don't want me to use.
I hope you can understand where im coming from.
Its impossible to give the best top 5 videos possible without using fellow creator's clips.
I am also sick of the Top 5 videos that sound like robots and have no research behind them that are just done to get money.
So Im trying my best here to give people genuinely good options, And i trust me researching skills to be very good, and I hope to save people from wasting their time when searching for a new gadget / product.
Anyhow. That's all I have to say.
I respect your opinion, thanks for your comment.
Sorry that you felt that you couldn't trust me.
Wish you a very nice day!
      Good bye
