My family has a pair of cabins across Lockwood Valley on a little ridge. The location is visible at one point when you're behind the diesel. I've crawled those trails including Lockwood creek trail in my 1958 VW Baja Bug. I remember one time with my wife Pat riding shotgun in the company of my friend Vic and his wife Pat in their 42 GPW taking Lockwood creek trail to the junction of Piru creek where you guys lunched then up the north flank of Alamo mountain on Miller trail that you took after lunch. We toured around the loop on top of Alamo, then back down Miller to Lockwood creek trail and back to our cabin. That was in the 1980s. PS...My Baja had a 1385cc engine with a single bbl 28mm carb and swingaxle rear suspension with H78-15 (=215-75s) rear tires. Vic's Jeep had the original axles and springs with a Buick odd-fire V6 and CJ5 gearbox/transfer case with L78-15 Norseman tires. No lockers or LSD on either vehicle. This outing was in the 1980s. Only pics I have is a couple of my Baja in Lockwood creek canyon in 1978 taken by a girlfriend before my wife.

That's crazy you took the trail in your bug, cannot imagine!

Outstanding... those were the days. We were building a house in Cuddy Valley, had a little CJ 5 on the farm there. Neer did Miller, but most of the easy roads of the area.

That taco should have invested in some sliders before a bumper. See this happen a couple of times on that exact part and one of those times the dude smashed in the door pretty bad

That's a fun trail. I used to do it on my dirt bike. A lot easier on two wheels.

Same here, back in the 90's rode from the park side through this trail then back to the park via gold hill road. Sadly the park service closed many of those routes/trails to dirt bikes.
