Wonderful and sincere reaction! Thanks so much. We Spaniards are very proud of Blanca’s song and performance, and it’s lovely seeing people from other countries and cultures enjoying it as much as we do, even without knowing the context of the song, the lyrics. The song is about a loving mother singing a sort of lullaby to her child and stating that when she dies she would want to be buried in the moon to be able to see him/her every night… except one (New Moon night)… The whole pack delivered, song, voice, staging…, is really captivating and mesmerising… Glad you enjoyed it and captured its essence. Cheers from the south of Spain. You’ve got a new follower 💕.
I thought Spain should have won last year and I want Spain to win Eurovision 2023. This song is so emotional and got my attention right away. Good Luck Espania 💃 from Ireland ☘️

Blanca Paloma's song is a play, a performance made to be represented and with the staging it makes sense, using Spanish (Lorca) but also universal symbolic references. It is an invocation, a call, a song to what makes us feel safe and strong at the same time, which makes us enter a hypnotic trance. She relates it to her grandmother, to that maternal thing that takes care of us and protects us. The red strings that hang down and that she already explained reminded her of her grandmother's shawl, form a circle that is like a maternal womb that gives us light and nourishes us. She goes through that uterus that is fertilized (this is how I understand those hands that surround her and hold her for a few seconds). Then the miracle of life is done. The moon is the symbol of the feminine, which engenders, nourishes and makes it grow. It is present every night except when it goes out on a new moon. During the performance, the sound “ea, ea” is repeated loudly and rhythmically, which is the lullaby that mothers sing to children when they are afraid, when they cry, to reassure them and give them strength. Nothing bad is going to happen... The dancers also imitate the movement of the arms that they cradle spasmodically. It looks like a sway of waves... Because the sea also lulls and transforms with the phases of the moon and is the quintessential feminine element. The base that sounds below the telluric song and the allusions to the heartbeat complete the visual and sound elements of the set. This song is a song to celebrate life and a work of art. Win or not, it will not leave anyone indifferent and it will be difficult to forget.
The song itself (music, singing, clapping) is a bulería, kind of a specific 'subgenere' of flamenco with a modern twist of an electronic beat. The topic and the lyrics come from the POV of a woman singing a lullaby, trying to put her crying baby to sleep ('Eaea' is a cooing sound in Spain) The performance and staging are the ones of a ritual, summoning her ancestors. Specially her late grandma, wich this song is inspired by and dedicated to, because she taught and used to sing flamenco and lullabies to her. The repetitive pattern of the beat, backing vocals and rythmic clapping are intended to be entrancing and hypnotizing for connecting with the energy of the experience. Her hand movements work as a praise and a calling to the above. The red threads are a reference to the fringes of a traditional 'mantón' (shawl) simbolizing protection, motherhood, in fact she said it could be seen sort of womb-shaped. Actually she worked as a costume and stage set designer, as she did here too. The white circle represents the moon, where, as the lyrics say, she wants to be buried in when she dies, so she will be able to watch over her child everynight but one ('newmoon') First she kneels looking up, later she kneels again looking downwards, always with a reaching hand. Then she shoots a flaming arrow and lights it on fire (red pulsing light, heartbeat, blood, death) Finally the priestess gets on the shrine to end the ritual in ecstasy.
Thank you so much for explaning all of that! This performance is so meaningful, it's absolutely breathtaking. I love how much attention to detail they put into everything. I'm going to look up more about bulería too!

As already has been said the "ea ea ea..." is usually used here in Spain, to calm or soothe a baby when is crying. This song is the one that her own grandmother (Paloma's) sang her when she was a child, so it's also a tribute to her grandma. The moon is a very important device because is the place where she wants to be buried so that she can protect her child from the sky, when death comes for her....and there are other many touching elements in this lullaby...the best for me, apart from transmitting Spanish folk and culture, is that all their feelings are UNIVERSAL; the love of a mother, the love for a child, your family (grandmother), the fear of loss, life versus death...and so forth...beautiful!
love ur reaction, although at the same time its like it doesnt make sense lol, when you reacted to chanel and loving her so much ! and then have her in 17th position, so its kinda confusing
that's because these are just my first, initial reactions. Plus I haven't heard most of the other songs yet. I have no idea where this song will end up in my final ranking yet. I might like it more in a few months, or I might like it less. Right now, I'm really in love with it. And people's comments about the meaning of the song made me love it even more! :)
Spain has more languages than CASTILIAN lol Chill the f*ck out, mate. Its normal that she could be confused, specially because of the pronunciation of the words in Andalusian accent.
I think the problem is the song. It's not really catchy and "Bulería" is not the kind of music most of people could like. I'm Spanish and I'd like she could win but it's a very risky choice.
I also think it's a risky choice if you want to win Eurovision. But I think it's nevertheless an incredible entry that will touch a lot of people's hearts.
@@urikacalling3928 I hope so. I wanted this one to win also. If you want, you can make a reaction to it too, it'd be well deserved. czcams.com/video/ncc8fYs6xCc/video.html

What language is it? It's Spanish (is it surprising for Spain? 😂😂😂).
🏹💃💃🇪🇦✌️😍

Witchcraft, Magic.
The song is sung in Spanish 😂
love ur reaction, although at the same time its like it doesnt make sense lol, when you reacted to chanel and loving her so much ! and then have her in 17th position, so its kinda confusing
that's because these are just my first, initial reactions. Plus I haven't heard most of the other songs yet. I have no idea where this song will end up in my final ranking yet. I might like it more in a few months, or I might like it less. Right now, I'm really in love with it. And people's comments about the meaning of the song made me love it even more! :)
Which language is that? Spanish…? Maybe…? 🤦♀️
Spain has more languages than CASTILIAN lol Chill the f*ck out, mate. Its normal that she could be confused, specially because of the pronunciation of the words in Andalusian accent.
in trance??? i agree. in a sleepy trance like a good lullaby that it is🤣
No me guhta :(
No es para un festival ,
I think the problem is the song.

2:04 "What language is this?"
...
Really? (O_o)
Español
donde has nacido,tú ?
i actually don't like it (i am spanish). i like the flamenco mixture, a lot of spanish artist been doing it for years but especially this song i find it so boring and also annoying. the performance is kinda good but i have another fovourites in the contest. we deserved to win last year but in my opinion not this one.
Que cansativo!!
i Prefear the song of 2022, this is boring for me.
Loreen is coming to win!
La Rosalía de Aliexpress
Rosalía isn't even flamenco anymore, shut up.
Esta chica tiene más voz.
Ni puta idea
