Am an Edo man who belongs to no political part . My objective opinion is that Oshiomhole did very well as governor just as barrister Idahagbon said but his regular meddling with what should be the people’s choice has been his greatest undoing and he has clearly not learnt his lessons . Obaseki will leave office as the least popular governor in Edo and that will not work in the favour of the PDP except they present a candidate like Hon. Ogbeide Ihama who is popular on the streets, APC has a chance of snatching the governorship if a popular politician like pastor Ize Iyamu gets their ticket, Labour Party is equally popular in Edo but the people are more in love with Peter Obi than the Labour Party. A strong candidate like Barr. Olumide Akpata in conjunction with a strong campaign led by Peter Obi would turn the tide in favour ofLabour Party. Lastly, there is the INEC issue. There may be a strong voter’s apathy due to a lack of confidence in INEC .

What they don't know is that Adams Oshiomhole is working for Asue Ighodalo's emergence. Supporting Dennis was a ploy to pave the way for Asue. Ize-Iyamu would have been a hard nut to crack by Asue, hence he had to be systematically edged out. His stepping down must have come from a higher power whom I suspect to be Tinubu. He will compensated somehow. Asue has a very deep relationship with Oshiomhole and Tinubu that goes way back beyond politics. He in turn will not rock the boat of Tinubu's re-election in the next general election.

Looking at how some people are bashing him before listening to him speak I thought he was really very bad but no he is not. Everything he said are on point. Oshiomole did very well as Edo state governor but the governor he brought after him was in fact a very wrong choice as events over the years has showed. If after the way he rubbished Ize Iyamu and he was advised that Iyamu was not the right choice to showcase because of how he brought him down. If he insisted and the result was a failure of APC at the polls that means at this point Oshiomole should allow others to make decisions too. Marketing people may not be his best gift. He should think of the party success and allow others make contributions on who they want to represent the party.

The amount of coverage that you guys have given to the Edo State governorship race is insanely ridiculous and continues to show the mis-placement of priorities amidst the Nigerian media outlets.
