Honestly I don't think the "restart if you attack with a weapon even if it doesn't land" is a very good rule. It seems like it just made this challenge way more frustrating than it already was.
That he ended the quest after the legde attacks without Even hitting the monsters got me hurt kinda hard.
Yes, that feels kinda nonsensical, because it would only count, if it would connect, which it didn't...
I dont think your wiff attacks going up a ledge should ruin a quest for you. If you do no dmg with your weapon it shouldnt count
As someone who actually never really used slinger bursts, im kinda surprised how powerful this looks.
If you get a LS, and burst with thorn, then roundslash, it almost guarantees a KO
I definitely prefer this style of editing for challenge videos. While I've enjoyed your older videos (and even subbed because of them), most of the videos ultimately came down to "it was tough, but I beat it" for each monster. I like this new style where we see more of each fight, and it feels like the struggle of the challenge is more tangible. Keep it up!
For those who didn't know about the slinger burst, Like me, or that shotgun he did in the begining and want to do it on PC. for SnS(I don't know about the other weapons) you draw your weapon, activate the slinger(for me it was 'C') and then press 'Q' to activate the burst mode. would have saved me so much time if I knew of this before starting my near "Ultimate Ironman" run.
The intro rocks as hell!
TDS Chris would be so proud :')
3:43 Yes they are and it’s glorious. With the introduction of the 1000 Dragons attack for bow, piercing pods are amazing. It’s pretty much dragon piercer and Slinger Burst put together when you have piercing pods. xD
Also the bane of some hunters: Clutch Claw
Thousand dragons w piercing pods is one of the most satisfying moves in the game
I don't really get why people don't like clutch claw, it can be annoying to tenderize, but it adds new techniques and allows for you to do more damage without making you overpowered like wirebug moves
I guess that tendering van get annoying, but nobody said you have to do it, it's just there for some of the worse hunters to get confused on and the better hunters to get heavily rewarded and I love it. Tendering after a wall bang or mount feels so good and then on topic of the thousand dragon attack, with the right circumstances (slinger thorns, damage buffs, tenderized weak point) you can deal upwards of like 2k from each thousand dragons, it's truly insane and I love it.
I feel like accidential weapon attacks shouldn't be a fail as long as they don't actually hit anything.
Also, it seems kind of odd that the Claw uppercut was never used, since it's one of the things that make SnS objectively the best weapon for a Claw&Slinger run. The Clawppercut tenderizes faster than regular claw attacks, meaning if you get lucky you can get both a tenderize and a wall slam off when default claw attacks would enrage the monster and make it impossible to slam.
@@darthplagueis13 he had no idea the SnS uppercut existed, he addressed that is a different comment
You’re fighting a monster: :|
They drop something: :0
It’s red: >:/
You’re doing this challenge: >:D
Red drops are nice no matter what, gets you a wall bang of if you want some nice kinsect buffs. Anyway, if you wanted white drops wallbangs would be the way to go.
Slinger ammo is a lot more powerful than I thought, learned something new :)
Slinger Capacity and Slugger is all you really need lol
Nice video. Glad to see a challengr video. Hope your doing good man 👍 wait you can increase the damage the clutch claw does? Huh never knew that
Yes it’s here been waiting for this one
When you think about it, a ballista is really just a bigger slinger.
Thank you for uploading. It makes my day better
Fun fact claw uppercut counts as three tenderizing claw attacks in other words counts as one stage of tenderizing. So on safi siege you can claw uppercut one part then move to another and tenderize a different part
The video buffered at the perfect moment, so it sounded like he just said "today we're going to see if it's possible to beat Monster Hunter World." without saying any challenge.
Yeeeep gonna make a MR build of this soooon as i get home someone like this comment in like 4 hours so i rememeber lol
@@solstre2949 yes but your a saint regardless and i managed so thank you~
@@justapassingbycommenterrem5642 your a little late but you got spirit~ the build turned out really fun
Cool thanks for this i love this type of challenges! Also ...NANI?!
Considering the huntsman was aweing at our abilities with the slinger specifically, is this technically the canonical weapon the hunter uses?
how's part 2 coming along? :D can't wait for that! also you should try this with a friend in a coop video for mhw!!
Wow the new intro looks cool like the dual blades in the intro too
THE CHALLENGE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
love these videos
Why would you need a weapon?? You already have a SHOTGUN in your left arm - Reaverjolt 2022
You can do a clutch claw uppercut by dodging and immediately pressing the slinger button with SnS
Btw the dragon pods are good, if u use them as slinger burst they act as dragon ammo for bg
Can’t wait for part 2, I just want to see velkhana get destroyed by rocks
reaver cackling like a madman while destroying monsters with some rocks. i'm going to enjoy this.
The secret 15th MH weapon, the Mini Bowgun
"I threw a rock at him... it was a big rock..."
I've never broke Barroth's head even with a weapon before... How humiliating this video is 😭
that nani got me lol
Now to do this co-op if you have friends that play mhw with le dlc
I like the new opening reaver
Dang the new intro
The wall bang on nergigante failed with me also ones he wakes up he is going to dive bomb into the wall so to my knowledge it don't work
Bro that Xeno fight was intense
Reaver, I really really like you and your content, and this video is really good, but I gotta ask, WHY? WHY did you reset after doing a ledge attack WITHOUT DAMAGING the monster 😭😭
Yes, definitely; using only those two you can slam the monsters into walls, dealing large damage, albeit pissing them off in the process. wait for them to de-rage by slingering or clutch clawing at them, repeat.
The most satisfying combat in MHW 😩
Wow they really made the slinger alot stronger sense I played.
the way i was just curious and searched this up i cant believe this video is real
I SAW THIS ONE COMING!
next video: can you beat mhw by only looking at the monsters really hard?
wow i didn't know sawed-offs were a weapon option in monster hunter XD
Is that cool shotgun burst exclusive to the clutch claw/ice borne dlc? I’d love to do that
Hey dude, siege weapons count as part of the area just like frogs and plants
I like how sword and sheild is now shotgun and sheild
I like the dude that ask about beating the game with lbg only, as main lbg player i can tell ya lbg is super strong as any other weapon you should try a run with it
He finally realised the video
6:55 killed me 💀 NuNi!
this was like beating mhw with a shotgun
forget spread Bowguns, Slingerburst SnS is the new Shotgun!
Dope intro
I miss the clutch claw
What is this, David and Goliaths lol
I would use Lance for that huge sheld
Reaverjolt, does using the clutch claw uppercut not count for this challenge. If you land it, it does half a soften (three clutch attacks)
Thanks for letting me know. I will use the roll clutch with SnS in Iceborne for sure.
why would you end when you attack even if you dont hit him? i mean you still havent used a weapon to attack him
I'm not sure what it says about me that this kind of playstyle looks a lot easier than... whatever the hell I'm trying to do. But I also haven't played in months and only just got the game again so maybe it's just the video editing doing its job.
This guy sounds like Robin from Teen Titans when he laughs
Hey, I’m the guy who uses way to much slinger shots during a quest, you proved my fighting style of running around like a flailing chicken to be as effective as I thought, nice work!
Why did you restart after doing a normal attack even though it didn't hit the monster?
Hi I'm very late to this party but 6:40 THE BARROTH CROWN CAN FALL OFF??? WHAT
How can one do the shotgun on ps4?
So basically how to play spread lbh/hbg in early ranks.
if it was me the monsters would just help ME
Gonna purchase an intro from the same guy you did. Did you buy the Basic, Standard or Premium package?
Safi'jiiva vs some stones
Hunter bullies monsters with a slingshot
didn't know you could use clutch claw or whatever he was doing with the rocks in base game world, is it because he had iceborne from the beginning?🤔
7:40 YOU CAN DO THAT? I really thought you couldn't break his head anymore in World!
Ya, I didn’t know it dropped a carve piece, but head breaking is how you access the head critical, World jacked up the break threshold I think, as even my Fatalis LS has issues breaking it with Helm Splitters, I run lvl 7 Crit Eye, 7 Attack Boost, 3 Weakness exploit, and 1 Crit Boost for the record
This challenge is so dumb.
I love it!
did you end up carving xenojiiva? still wondering to this day
How do you get a clutch claw
What advantage does having a better weapon give
7:42 send it to tds :)
Hey @ReaverJolt I know this is a extremely late comment but when you fought Tobi and you pulled out your sword you didn't hit him so your first run was still valid
Kinda mad you didn't pick slinger capcity up early
You are an alpha chad tbh
When u broke kulu's head you did use sns
Ah yes, the 15th weapon.
Fatalis when
Anyone wanna point out a toad knocked out a metal elder dragon, a literal storm dragon god
How you shoot so many things at once
Everyone when World came out:
Here's a challenge can u beat mhw with only light bow gun normal ammo 1
the 15th weapon
are you telling me that the best way way to get barroth scalp its spaming slinger burst? capcom what the hell
I would recomend doing outriders with only skills, but it hasn't come out yet, and it has cuss words.
8:27 why’d you restart😭😭you didn’t even land a hit on her 😭😭
HOW DO I MAKE THE SLINGER SHOOT LIKE A SHOTGUN???
Why self empose yourself with the rule of quitting if you attack, when the attack is nowhere near hitting the monster? Seems to add extra stress for no reason when your not damaging them
The only mistake I made in editing the video here was I forgot to put in the part where I do beat Teostra. So that was a wiff on my part lol. Also when I made a mistake with Nergigante, I nearly broke my controller out of frustration lol.
And stay tuned for Part 2 in Master Rank. Will get to work on that soon.
Why did you make yourself suffer like this?....
Just a short thing: Tenderizing doesn't increase slinger damage. I'm not sure if it lowers stagger values or something, But dying whilst tenderizing is worthless. You really don't do more damage. Trust me, I farmed Safi for 5 hours just to make the most effective Slinger burst set for fun with a Safi SnS. You don't need to tenderize!
Great video otherwise. I'm hyped for part two! Love your content!
Slight correction: It doesn't matter IF: the head is already a weak point (which is the case on most monsters). If the head isn't a weak point (like on Val Hazak where I noticed this) then tenderizing is effective, because it makes it a weak point. E.g. Paolumu: always 10; Val Hazak: untenderized 6, tenderized 9
I hope this helps
slinger burst can be done with a lot of weapons i begun to honestly use it with a bow cos it looks Cool AF as you literally shoot the clutch claw with your bow XD. as for missions where you cannot complete a quest without due to using the cannon or ballistae then it is passable as a noted exception for those quests
