I remember the first time I got told by some of my older homies that I had to take care someone...and I mean I got told not asked ...I remember after I handled that situation that night I couldnt sleep I was in pure shock so I had to take some pills to go to sleep when morning came as soon as I opened my eyes I ran to the toilet and threw up my body was shaking and my anxiety was up the roof I couldn't even comprehend what I had did the night before...every 5 min I kept thinking my house was going to be hit by law enforcement ...everytime someone knocked on the door or made a noise I thought they were detectives at my door ...everytime my phone rang or my mom's or sister's phone rang thought there was law enforcement calling them to ask where I was so I would listen in on all the phone calls and no my ass wasn't on drugs I was sober as can be ..I couldn't eat anything no matter how hungry I was my body wouldn't keep anything down I would just throw it back up I was 16 years old at the time so when I went to school any teachers or staff or any adult in that matter that looked at me for to long or in a weird way would send my anxiety right back up the roof in between classes I would run to the restroom to wash my face and throw up to convince myself that I was going to be ok ...this feeling of paranoia..anxiety..fear.. and sickness went on for months until finally I learned how to live with it and accept it ...moral of the story is for anybody thinking about joining a gang don't jump into this life thinking it's going to bring you popularity or girls or thinking it's always going to be a party or thinking people are going to fear you because remember there's always someone bigger and badder that has nothing to lose ...with this life comes pain..disrespect...fake friendship...burdens..violence..drug addiction.....your own homies trying to screw your girl behind your back..your own homies using you for your car or your house or your money or pretending to be you homie to get close to your sister even your mom in some cases...remember you live by the sword you die by the sword ...there's 3 exits out of this life and it's either JAIL..DEAD...OR STRUNG OUT ON DRUGS ...and if you do happen to make it out trust me when I say that you either had to go to jail..prison or make it threw drug addiction or being shot or stabbed...so for you kids out are thinking about joining a gang especially a Gang that ls known for its violence you better think twice because trust me when I say your going to fuck your whole life up in a heart beat and your going to be begging God for another chance at life !!! One of my boys is locked doing 46 years for a murder, and that was the only murder they caught him for. I remember asking him how it felt, and he said it’s a fucked up situation but you get through it by reminding yourself it was either them or you. It’s fucked up, but it’s really how a lot of these dudes cope. They have to believe that or else the anxiety, regret, and anguish will eat them alive.
