It's not so difficult to understand. Most people in the U.S. have terrible taste in music and listen to whatever they are fed or whatever their equally unknowledgeable friends listen to.
Definitely true! They played The Replay in Lawrence, KS when I was an exchange student there back fall 2010, and it was great! They finished their set with a cover of Black Betty and pulled everyone up on stage and I got to share the microphone with the lead singer. Absolute dudes, the lot of them!
I got to see Ha Ha Tonka at the Wood House a few years back, and I'm a BIG fan. ...Played their music over and over again while driving thru the "hate radio" wasteland of the midwest, as my Dad lay dying. PERFECT road trip music, and from Missouri's Heartland.
Bummer that I didn't know about the band and make the shows in the Midwest. Glad to finally learn about a great band. Keep it up guys! And thanks Tony Bourdain for bringing them on your show!
Went to San Fransico on a road trip and we heard about this place called The Bottom of the Hill and this band happen to be playing with Murder by Death. That was a damm good show. I cant stop listening to these guys.
Saw this dude as my waiter at On the Border, and all I can say is awesome job man, I can tell you worked hard for it. Oh, and don't cut your beard. It's badass.
This band is going to be huge. I saw them in Chicago at Lincoln Hall, best concert last year, including those at Lala. I hate making comparisons but they could be the bastard son of Mumford and Sons and Kings of Leon. Keep it up boys, and get out to SF.
11 years later and this song still rocks. Timeless
This band is Superb! Can't figure out why they aren't huge in America right now. So much crap on the radio today; these guys trump all of it.

love you in europe missing Anthony Bourdain❤
No reservations brought me here......great band

Just saw these guys last night in Nashville with Murder by Death and Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons. Awesome!
Saw them open for Tedeschi Trucks and FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM. Great stage presence!
Insanely underrated.
Great song! Vocals make me think of nothing but the Hothouse Flowers from way back in the dark ages of my teens in the early 90's.
I cannot listen to this song and sit still. LOVE your sound!

Such a great band. How can you not love this tune? The only thing I can surmise is that 15 folks have defective ears.
@stephenkellyhunt The tune was recorded in New Paltz, NY at Marcata Studios. Produced by The Ryantist and Kevin McMahon.

Three of the members are from west plains missouri and one is from kanasa I think.
@TheHolyurethra see Ha Ha Tonka once live and you will be a fan...Meet the boys and you will be a fan for life.
Am 22.Oktober live bei uns in Nürnberg im Festsaal des Künstlerhauses!
Haha found a video that hasn't been commented on in 3 years, heck I've played on a men's basketball team with the curly hair bass guitar player
i think mississippi
Mumford what?? Anthony Bourdain sent me, and this band fucking kicks ass!
Better than Mumford & Sons.
Bring on the haters!
That's not exactly a high bar you're setting for them now is it?
So they just named themselves after a MIssouri state park? How clever.
Could that be considered folk music? I dont know... :P
Indie/Southern Rock
