I love the whole story you have to go with your layout along with the sci-fi integration. A true work of art!

Nice progress. The benchwork looks solid and that 30 foot length looks like it goes on forever Those old curtain wall industrial structures are great. They remind me of the old Packard Motor Car plant in Detroit, which looks as post-apocalyptic as anything youcan imagine..

As a meteorologist, I certainly approve of your idea of storm clouds on the wall!

Wayman, thanks for posting the track plan in the last vid. Makes it easy to see how this will look. Lots of progress done, especially with that drywall! The "not so much fun" part of model railroading.

👍👍You've been busy, lots of building, looking better each time! I know how to well on lumber prices, have gone insane these days. But then what hasn't. Sounds like a very unique and cool layout, looking forward seeing it all come to life. A back story would be marvelous, I know little to nothing about the Gundam world. 🚂🚂

It keeps looking better and better! In the basement I'd definitely suggest you get a dehumidifier to help with humidity that will cause the benchwork to expand and contract messing up the track. I'd also suggest not sodering all of the rail joints and leave some not so the rail can move to avoid kinking. Awesome video! 👍

This is really going well, I am
Impressed with your progress after just moving in, because there are always other house jobs to do. You’ve done great. It’s up to you, but the layout that spans under and in front of your electrical panel, should have free access. If you ever need electrical work done like adding a circuit or something an electrician will balk at the lack of access and you’ll likely need to move things, so you might think about making a section of that modular enough to disconnect and slide out of the way if you have t done that already.

    Now I am super excited!
Not sure why but the cement back wall sort of made me think about the city scape as sort of a dark neon lit post apocalyptical Tokyo. Tall buildings that hide parts of the train.
    Hot, humid, and steamy.
I love the idea of going between multiple rooms. It means you can have completely different scenes.
I am trying to think where the water front would go, and how you could fit in Godzilla! 😎😎😎😎

Looking good, getting track laid is the biggest sense of accomplishment. I just finished my benchwork with 2" of foam then 1/8" of cork and buttoned up with fascia. My basement is not finsihed and has low ceilings. I used to lay track first and buildings later. Debating to keep doing that or do buldings first and the track. Decisions!

When your layout develops, it would be great for you to narrate a backstory while a camera is attached to one of your trains, slowly going through the entire layout, and as it moves along, you can introduce each section that it travels through?

I for one along with everybody else is very excited watching this great layout come together. What type of power controllers will you be using? I did notice in one of your videos you did. You were using the ESU Cabcontrol. Thank you.

I know it's going to look great from how you described it. Are you going to have an operational coal loader and dumper for the mineral that's being mined?
