How do you not have a million subscribes!??! You are mister fuse/electrical troubleshooter magician! Keep up the great work and I would add a key point to any Prius owners out there; at least on the 2004-2008 Gen 2 Priuses- if you can't start your Prius, the fault might be the brake light switch. To test, have someone look at the brake lights when you depress the pedal, they should go on regardless of engine status. If they don't go on, and you can't start the car (it'll seem like you're stuck in accessory mode), then your brake light switch is bad or out of position. This was a known issue on a bunch of Toyotas of this era. There was a TSB on it and I think maybe a recall. Anyway, relatively easy fix for a Prius that won't start.

    You are amazing 🙌🏽
I totally forgot about the fuse box under the dash
And all I needed was a fuse that was blown for the brake light
(tail lights were working fine it was just the brake light that wasn’t working)
    great video 👌🏽

it's a good video if the watcher already understands 'over limit' and what he is explaining. A regular guy unaware about electronics at all will be lost.

Before you do anything… Try this… My situation was my brake lights worked but I was having trouble getting the stick shift out of park. I sprayed some WD-40 on that button at the bottom of the switch and that was what the problem was! The damn thing was stuck… That’s all it needed. May not fix it for you but it sure did for me! Certainly worth trying before you do anything else… Now if your brake lights won’t shut off that is something else probably. But it was an instant fix.

Thanks for the video I’m trying to diagnose my cruise control not coming on on my 2011 corolla. Replaced the knob and wire inside steering wheel and I thought it was fixed because the cruise light starting coming on after a few minutes after plugging my battery back up.. but then in the morning Once I started the car it wouldn’t work any more. My next step is to look at the brake light switch but my brake lights work perfectly fine as far as I can tell so I’m in a loop lol I think maybe the ecu turned off cruise control because I have a worn out automatic transmission but I’m literally making that up. Your video definitely helped thank you.

Thank you for the great video! I am diagnosing an '06 that goes into a sort of 'limp mode' when the plunger on the brake light switch is depressed. Any ideas?

Hello sir this is an amazing video I’ve done everything you’ve said, but my car still does the same thing, it won’t go into gear and cruise control won’t work, I put a new switch in but it doesn’t seem to work, do you have any other idea of what could it be ?

Helped me turn off my break lights in my ol Rav4 96 when they were stuck on one night. Let's see if that saves my battery.

07 Toyota Highlander the right turn lights flashing normal but when stepping on brake pedal the brake lights and the turn signal lights flash rapidly. Replaced turn signal switch and swapped sockets. Problem still exists.

Today the dash lights and tail lights went out, tail lights do come on when you apply
The brake peddle but lights don't come on when
    You release the pedal.

I am not getting power for my 2005 Corolla as I tested it with 15A fuse, coz I tested my switch & fuse with multimeter and I am getting continuity for both. Please advise how to fix power supply. Thanks.

By luck you'll see this,🤞🏾 according to a commentor below you're good with electrical things so may I ask what could be the reason for my high mount break light on a 2009 Toyota Avalon only working intermittently in low heat to not at all when temps are extremely hot and always working perfectly fine in the winter. The lower two work without any problem, I have no issue with the break lights staying on. I replaced it with one from the junk yard with the same issue. Could it be a bad switch or wiring issue?

On my 2008 break lights don’t work. I know it’s not the bulb because bulbs never go out when both of them

So I check the fuse and it’s fine I don’t think it’s the switch either because when I did the fuse test the brake lights didn’t come on. What would be the next solution? Thank you in advance!

If anyone can help me figure this out. So both my of taillights turn on but only one (drivers side light) turns on when I brake. Is it a fuse?? I’m a bit lost. I don’t think it’s my light switch right?

You don't have to have a stopper pad? Could I maybe tighten the switch and not worry about the pad?

How the hell do you get to that fuse block so easily!? Man, I have to almost remove the seat first so I have enough room...lol I've vowed to curse the Toyota engineers who decided to put a fusebox in such a horrible location.
